1 When the lord brought back the captivity of Sion, we became like men comforted.	1 - Cantico de' gradini. Beati tutti coloro che temono il Signore, che camminano nelle sue vie.
2 Then was our mouth filled with gladness; and our tongue with joy. Then shall they say among the Gentiles: The Lord hath done great things for them.	2 Delle fatiche delle tue mani tu mangerai: beato tu sei e t'andrà bene.
3 The Lord hath done great things for us: we are become joyful.	3 La tua moglie è come vite ubertosatra le pareti della tua casa; i tuoi figli come rampolli d'oliviintorno alla tua mensa.
4 Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as a stream in the south.	4 Ecco! così sarà benedetto l'uomoche teme il Signore.
5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.	5 Ti benedica il Signore da Sion, e possa tu vedere la prosperità di Gerusalemme tutti i giorni di tua vita,
6 Going they went and wept, casting their seeds.	6 e vedere i figliuoli de' tuoi figliuoli. Pace sopra Israele!
7 But coming they shall come with joyfulness, carrying their sheaves.
