14 Maonathi beget Ophra, and Saraia begot Joab the father of the Valley of artificers: for artificers were there.	14 Seraia gerou Joab, pai dos habitantes do vale de Carasquim, porque eles eram carpinteiros.

38 These were named princes in their kindreds, and in the houses of their families were multiplied exceedingly.	38 Estes homens, indicados por seus nomes, eram príncipes nas suas famílias. Suas casas patriarcais eram grandemente multiplicadas.
39 And they went forth to enter into Gador as far as to the east side of the valley, to seek pastures for their flocks.	39 Eles foram da costa de Gador, até a este do vale, à procura de pastagens para seus rebanhos.
40 And they found fat pastures, and very good, and a country spacious, and quiet, and fruitful, in which some of the race of Cham had dwelt before.	40 Encontraram pastos abundantes e bons num território amplo, tranqüilo e cheio de paz, outrora habitado pelos camitas.
41 And these whose names are written above, came in the days of Ezechias king of Juda: and they beat down their tents, and slew the inhabitants that were found there, and utterly destroyed them unto this day: and they dwelt in their place, because they found there fat pastures.	41 Estes homens, indicados por seus nomes, vieram no tempo de Ezequias, rei de Judá: destruíram as tendas dos habitantes dessa terra, assim como os maonitas que lá se encontravam, e os votaram ao interdito até o dia de hoje. Estabeleceram-se em seu lugar, porque lá havia pastagens para seus rebanhos.
42 Some also of the children of Simeon, five hundred men, went into mount Seir, having for their captains Phaltias and Naaria and Raphaia and Oziel the sons of Jesi:	42 Quinhentos homens da família de Simeão dirigiram-se também para as montanhas de Seir. Eram seus chefes: Faltias, Naarias, Rafaías e Oziel, filho de Jesi.
43 And they slew the remnant of the Amalecites, who had been able to escape, and they dwelt there in their stead unto this day.	43 Destroçaram os amalecitas sobreviventes e lá se estabeleceram até este dia.
