Apocalisse 2

DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 ALL’ANGELO della chiesa d’Efeso scrivi: Queste cose dice colui che tiene le sette stelle nella sua destra, il qual cammina in mezzo de’ sette candellieri d’oro:	1 'Write to the angel of the church in Ephesus and say, "Here is the message of the one who holds theseven stars in his right hand and who lives among the seven golden lamp-stands:
2 Io conosco le opere tue, e la tua fatica, e la tua sofferenza, e che tu non puoi sopportare i malvagi; ed hai provati coloro che si dicono essere apostoli, e nol sono; e li hai trovati mendaci;	2 I know your activities, your hard work and your perseverance. I know you cannot stand wicked people,and how you put to the test those who were self-styled apostles, and found them false.
3 ed hai portato il carico, ed hai sofferenza, ed hai faticato per il mio nome, e non ti sei stancato.	3 I know too that you have perseverance, and have suffered for my name without growing tired.
4 Ma io ho contro a te questo: che tu hai lasciata la tua primiera carità.	4 Nevertheless, I have this complaint to make: you have less love now than formerly.
5 Ricordati adunque onde tu sei scaduto, e ravvediti, e fa’ le primiere opere; se no, tosto verrò a te, e rimoverò il tuo candelliere dal suo luogo, se tu non ti ravvedi.	5 Think where you were before you fell; repent, and behave as you did at first, or else, if you will notrepent, I shal come to you and take your lamp-stand from its place.
6 Ma tu hai questo: che tu odii le opere dei Nicolaiti, le quali odio io ancora.	6 It is in your favour, nevertheless, that you loathe as I do the way the Nicolaitans are behaving.
7 Chi ha orecchio ascolti ciò che lo Spirito dice alle chiese: A chi vince io darò a mangiare dell’albero della vita, che è in mezzo del paradiso dell’Iddio mio	7 Let anyone who can hear, listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches: those who prove victoriousI will feed from the tree of life set in God's paradise."
8 E ALL’ANGELO della chiesa di Smirna scrivi: Queste cose dice il primo, e l’ultimo; il quale è stato morto, ed è tornato in vita:	8 'Write to the angel of the church in Smyrna and say, "Here is the message of the First and the Last,who was dead and has come to life again:
9 Io conosco le tue opere, e la tua afflizione, e la tua povertà ma pur tu sei ricco; e la bestemmia di coloro che si dicono esser Giudei, e nol sono; anzi sono una sinagoga di Satana.	9 I know your hardships and your poverty, and -- though you are rich -- the slander of the people whofalsely claim to be Jews but are real y members of the synagogue of Satan.
10 Non temer nulla delle cose che tu soffrirai; ecco, egli avverrà che il Diavolo caccerà alcuni di voi in prigione, acciocchè siate provati; e voi avrete tribolazione di dieci giorni; sii fedele infino alla morte, ed io ti darò la corona della vita.	10 Do not be afraid of the sufferings that are coming to you. Look, the devil wil send some of you toprison to put you to the test, and you must face hardship for ten days. Even if you have to die, keep faithful, and Iwil give you the crown of life for your prize.
11 Chi ha orecchio, ascolti ciò che lo Spirito dice alle chiese: Chi vince non sarà punto offeso dalla morte seconda	11 Let anyone who can hear, listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches: for those who provevictorious wil come to no harm from the second death."
12 E ALL’ANGELO della chiesa di Pergamo scrivi: Queste cose dice colui che ha la spada a due tagli, acuta:	12 'Write to the angel of the church in Pergamum and say, "Here is the message of the one who has the sharp sword, double-edged:
13 Io conosco le tue opere, e dove tu abiti, cioè là dove è il seggio di Satana; e pur tu ritieni il mio nome, e non hai rinnegata la mia fede, a’ dì che fu ucciso il mio fedel testimonio Antipa fra voi, là dove abita Satana.	13 I know where you live, in the place where Satan is enthroned, and that you stil hold firmly to my name,and did not disown your faith in me even when my faithful witness, Antipas, was kil ed among you, where Satanlives.
14 Ma io ho alcune poche cose contro a te, cioè: che tu hai quivi di quelli che tengono la dottrina di Balaam, il quale insegnò a Balac di porre intoppo davanti a’ figliuoli d’Israele, acciocchè mangiassero delle cose sacrificate agl’idoli, e fornicassero.	14 "Nevertheless, I have one or two charges against you: some of you are fol owers of Balaam, whotaught Balak to set a trap for the Israelites so that they committed adultery by eating food that had beensacrificed to idols;
15 Così hai ancora tu di quelli che tengono la dottrina de’ Nicolaiti; il che io odio.	15 and among you too there are some also who fol ow the teaching of the Nicolaitans.
16 Ravvediti; se no, tosto verrò a te, e combatterò con loro con la spada della mia bocca.	16 So repent, or I shal soon come to you and attack these people with the sword out of my mouth.
17 Chi ha orecchio, ascolti ciò che lo Spirito dice alle chiese: A chi vince io darò a mangiar della manna nascosta, e gli darò un calcolo bianco, e in su quel calcolo un nuovo nome scritto, il qual niuno conosce, se non colui che lo riceve	17 Let anyone who can hear, listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches: to those who provevictorious I will give some hidden manna and a white stone, with a new name written on it, known only to theperson who receives it."
18 E ALL’ANGELO della chiesa di Tiatiri scrivi: Queste cose dice il Figliuol di Dio, il quale ha gli occhi come fiamma di fuoco, e i cui piedi sono simili a calcolibano:	18 'Write to the angel of the church in Thyatira and say, "Here is the message of the Son of God who haseyes like a burning flame and feet like burnished bronze:
19 Io conosco le tue opere, e la tua carità, e la tua fede, e il tuo ministerio, e la tua sofferenza; e che le tue opere ultime sopravanzano le primiere.	19 I know your activities, your love, your faith, your service and your perseverance, and I know how youare stil making progress.
20 Ma ho contro a te alcune poche cose, cioè: che tu lasci che la donna Iezabel, la quale si dice esser profetessa, insegni, e seduca i miei servitori, per fornicare, e mangiar de’ sacrificii degl’idoli.	20 Nevertheless, I have a complaint to make: you tolerate the woman Jezebel who claims to be aprophetess, and by her teaching she is luring my servants away to commit the adultery of eating food which hasbeen sacrificed to idols.
21 Ed io le ho dato tempo da ravvedersi della sua fornicazione; ma ella non si è ravveduta.	21 I have given her time to repent but she is not wil ing to repent of her adulterous life.
22 Ecco, io la fo cadere in letto; e quelli che adulterano con lei, in gran tribolazione, se non si ravveggono delle opere loro.	22 Look, I am consigning her to a bed of pain, and al her partners in adultery to great hardship, unlessthey repent of their practices;
23 E farò morir di morte i figliuoli di essa; e tutte le chiese conosceranno che io son quello che investigo le reni, ed i cuori, e renderò a ciascun di voi secondo le vostre opere.	23 and I will see that her children die, so that all the churches realise that it is I who test motives andthoughts and repay you as your deeds deserve.
24 Ma a voi altri che siete in Tiatiri, che non avete questa dottrina, e non avete conosciute le profondità di Satana, come coloro parlano, io dico: Io non metterò sopra voi altro carico.	24 But on the rest of you in Thyatira, all of you who have not accepted this teaching or learnt the deepsecrets of Satan, as they are cal ed, I am not laying any other burden;
25 Tuttavolta, ciò che voi avete, ritenetelo finchè io venga.	25 but hold on firmly to what you already have until I come.
26 Ed a chi vince, e guarda fino al fine le opere mie, io darò podestà sopra le nazioni;	26 To anyone who proves victorious, and keeps working for me until the end, I will give the authority overthe nations
27 ed egli le reggerà con una verga di ferro, e saranno tritate come i vasi di terra; siccome io ancora ho ricevuto dal Padre mio.	27 which I myself have been given by my Father, to rule them with an iron sceptre and shatter them likeso many pots.
28 E gli darò la stella mattutina.	28 And I will give such a person the Morning Star.
29 Chi ha orecchio, ascolti ciò che lo Spirito dice alle chiese	29 Let anyone who can hear, listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches."
