Prima lettera ai Corinzi 1

1 PAOLO, chiamato ad essere apostolo di Gesù Cristo, per la volontà di Dio, e il fratello Sostene;	1 Paul, called as an Apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God; and Sosthenes, a brother:
2 alla chiesa di Dio, la quale è in Corinto, a’ santificati in Gesù Cristo, chiamati santi; insieme con tutti coloro, i quali in qualunque luogo invocano il nome di Gesù Cristo, Signor di loro, e di noi;	2 to the Church of God which is at Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints with all who are invoking the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place of theirs and of ours.
3 grazia, e pace a voi, da Dio, nostro Padre, e dal Signor Gesù Cristo.	3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 Io del continuo rendo grazie di voi all’Iddio mio, per la grazia di Dio che vi è stata data in Cristo Gesù.	4 I give thanks to my God continuously for you because of the grace of God that has been given to you in Christ Jesus.
5 Perciocchè in lui siete stati arricchiti in ogni cosa, in ogni dono di parola, e in ogni conoscenza;	5 By that grace, in all things, you have become wealthy in him, in every word and in all knowledge.
6 secondo che la testimonianza di Cristo è stata confermata fra voi.	6 And so, the testimony of Christ has been strengthened in you.
7 Talchè non vi manca dono alcuno, aspettando la manifestazione del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo;	7 In this way, nothing is lacking to you in any grace, as you await the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8 il quale eziandio vi confermerà infino al fine, acciocchè siate senza colpa nel giorno del nostro Signor Gesù Cristo.	8 And he, too, will strengthen you, even until the end, without guilt, until the day of the advent of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 Fedele è Iddio, dal quale siete stati chiamati alla comunione del suo Figliuolo Gesù Cristo, nostro Signore	9 God is faithful. Through him, you have been called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 ORA, fratelli, io vi esorto, per lo nome del nostro Signor Gesù Cristo, che abbiate tutti un medesimo parlare, e che non vi sieno fra voi scismi; anzi che siate uniti insieme in una medesima mente, e in un medesimo sentire.	10 And so, I beg you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that every one of you speak in the same way, and that there be no schisms among you. So may you become perfect, with the same mind and with the same judgment.
11 Perciocchè, fratelli miei, mi è stato di voi significato da que’ di casa Cloe, che vi son fra voi delle contenzioni.	11 For it has been indicated to me, about you, my brothers, by those who are with Chloes, that there are contentions among you.
12 Or questo voglio dire, che ciascun di voi dice: Io son di Paolo, ed io di Apollo, ed io di Cefa ed io di Cristo.	12 Now I say this because each of you is saying: “Certainly, I am of Paul;” “But I am of Apollo;” “Truly, I am of Cephas;” as well as: “I am of Christ.”
13 Cristo è egli diviso? Paolo è egli stato crocifisso per voi? ovvero siete voi stati battezzati nel nome di Paolo?	13 Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
14 Io ringrazio Iddio, che io non ho battezzato alcun di voi, fuori che Crispo e Gaio;	14 I give thanks to God that I have baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,
15 acciocchè alcuno non dica ch’io abbia battezzato nel mio nome.	15 lest anyone say that you have been baptized in my name.
16 Ho battezzata ancora la famiglia di Stefana; nel rimanente, non so se ho battezzato alcun altro	16 And I also baptized the household of Stephanus. Other than these, I do not recall if I baptized any others.
17 PERCIOCCHÈ Cristo non mi ha mandato per battezzare, ma per evangelizzare; non in sapienza di parlare, acciocchè la croce di Cristo non sia resa vana.	17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to evangelize: not through the wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ become empty.
18 Perciocchè la parola della croce è ben pazzia a coloro che periscono; ma a noi, che siam salvati, è la potenza di Dio.	18 For the Word of the Cross is certainly foolishness to those who are perishing. But to those who have been saved, that is, to us, it is the power of God.
19 Poichè egli è scritto: Io farò perir la sapienza dei savi, ed annullerò l’intendimento degl’intendenti.	19 For it has been written: “I will perish the wisdom of the wise, and I will reject the discernment of the prudent.”
20 Dov’è alcun savio? dov’è alcuno scriba? dov’è alcun ricercatore di questo secolo? non ha Iddio resa pazza la sapienza di questo mondo?	20 Where are the wise? Where are the scribes? Where are the truth-seekers of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of this world into foolishness?
21 Perciocchè, poichè nella sapienza di Dio, il mondo non ha conosciuto Iddio per la sapienza, è piaciuto a Dio di salvare i credenti per la pazzia della predicazione.	21 For the world did not know God through wisdom, and so, in the wisdom of God, it pleased God to accomplish the salvation of believers, through the foolishness of our preaching.
22 Poichè e i Giudei chieggono segno, e i Greci cercano sapienza.	22 For the Jews ask for signs, and the Greeks seek wisdom.
23 Ma noi predichiamo Cristo crocifisso, che è scandalo a’ Giudei, e pazzia a’ Greci.	23 But we are preaching Christ crucified. Certainly, to the Jews, this is a scandal, and to the Gentiles, this is foolishness.
24 Ma a coloro che son chiamati, Giudei e Greci, noi predichiam Cristo, potenza di Dio, e sapienza di Dio.	24 But to those who have been called, Jews as well as Greeks, the Christ is the virtue of God and the wisdom of God.
25 Poichè la pazzia di Dio è più savia che gli uomini, e la debolezza di Dio più forte che gli uomini.	25 For what is foolishness to God is considered wise by men, and that which is weakness to God is considered strong by men.
26 Perciocchè, fratelli, vedete la vostra vocazione; che non siete molti savi secondo la carne, non molti potenti, non molti nobili.	26 So take care of your vocation, brothers. For not many are wise according to the flesh, not many are powerful, not many are noble.
27 Anzi Iddio ha scelte le cose pazze del mondo, per isvergognare le savie. E Iddio ha scelte le cose deboli del mondo, per isvergognare le forti.	27 But God has chosen the foolish of the world, so that he may confound the wise. And God has chosen the weak of the world, so that he may confound the strong.
28 E Iddio ha scelte le cose ignobili del mondo, e le cose spregevoli, e le cose che non sono, per ridurre al niente quelle che sono.	28 And God has chosen the ignoble and contemptible of the world, those who are nothing, so that he may reduce to nothing those who are something.
29 Acciocchè niuna carne si glorii nel cospetto di Dio.	29 So then, nothing that is of the flesh should glory in his sight.
30 Or da lui voi siete in Cristo Gesù, il quale ci è stato fatto da Dio sapienza, e giustizia, e santificazione, e redenzione;	30 But you are of him in Christ Jesus, who was made by God to be our wisdom and justice and sanctification and redemption.
31 acciocchè, siccome è scritto: Chi si gloria, si glorii nel Signore	31 And so, in the same way, it was written: “Whoever glories, should glory in the Lord.”
