| 1 E TU figliuol d’uomo, profetizza a’ monti d’Israele, e di’: Monti d’Israele, ascoltate la parola del Signore. | 1 "And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD. |
| 2 Così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Perciocchè il nemico ha detto di voi: Eia! i colli eterni son divenuti nostra possessione! | 2 Thus says the Lord GOD: Because the enemy said of you, 'Aha!' and, 'The ancient heights have become our possession,' |
| 3 Perciò, profetizza, e di’: Così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Perciocchè voi siete stati distrutti, e tranghiottiti d’ogn’intorno, per divenir possessione delle altre genti; e siete passati per le labbra di maldicenza, e per l’infamia de’ popoli; | 3 therefore prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Because, yea, because they made you desolate, and crushed you from all sides, so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations, and you became the talk and evil gossip of the people; |
| 4 perciò, o monti d’Israele, ascoltate la parola del Signore Iddio: Così ha detto il Signore Iddio a’ monti ed a’ colli, alle pendici ed alle valli; a’ luoghi desolati, ridotti in deserti, ed alle città abbandonate, che sono state in preda, e in beffa alle altre genti, che son d’ogn’intorno; | 4 therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD: Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains and the hills, the ravines and the valleys, the desolate wastes and the deserted cities, which have become a prey and derision to the rest of the nations round about; |
| 5 perciò, così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Se io non ho parlato nel fuoco della mia gelosia contro altre genti, e contro a tutta quanta l’Idumea, le quali hanno fatto del mio paese la lor possessione, con allegrezza di tutto il cuore, e con isprezzo dell’animo, per iscacciarne gli abitatori, acciocchè ella fosse in preda. | 5 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I speak in my hot jealousy against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who gave my land to themselves as a possession with wholehearted joy and utter contempt, that they might possess it and plunder it. |
| 6 Perciò, profetizza alla terra d’Israele, e di’ a’ monti, ed a’ colli, alle pendici, ed alle valli: Così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Ecco, io ho parlato nella mia gelosia, e nella mia ira. Perciocchè voi avete portato il vituperio delle genti. | 6 Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I speak in my jealous wrath, because you have suffered the reproach of the nations; |
| 7 Perciò, così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Io ho alzata la mano: Se le genti, che son d’intorno a voi, non portano il lor vituperio. | 7 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I swear that the nations that are round about you shall themselves suffer reproach. |
| 8 Ma voi, o monti d’Israele, gitterete i vostri rami, e porterete il vostro frutto al mio popolo Israele; perciocchè egli è vicino a venire. | 8 "But you, O mountains of Israel, shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people Israel; for they will soon come home. |
| 9 Perciocchè, eccomi a voi, e mi rivolgerò a voi, e sarete lavorati, e seminati. | 9 For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown; |
| 10 Ed io farò moltiplicare in voi gli uomini, la casa d’Israele tutta quanta; e le città saranno abitate, e i luoghi deserti saranno edificati. | 10 and I will multiply men upon you, the whole house of Israel, all of it; the cities shall be inhabited and the waste places rebuilt; |
| 11 E farò moltiplicare in voi uomini, ed animali; ed essi moltiplicheranno, e frutteranno; e farò che sarete abitati, come a’ dì vostri antichi; e vi farò del bene più che ne’ vostri primi tempi; e voi conoscerete che io sono il Signore. | 11 and I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited as in your former times, and will do more good to you than ever before. Then you will know that I am the LORD. |
| 12 E farò camminar sopra voi degli uomini, cioè il mio popolo Israele, i quali vi possederanno, e voi sarete loro per eredità; e voi non li farete più morire. | 12 Yea, I will let men walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance, and you shall no longer bereave them of children. |
| 13 Così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Perciocchè si dice di voi: Tu sei un paese che divora gli uomini, e tu hai sempre fatte morir le tue genti; | 13 Thus says the Lord GOD: Because men say to you, 'You devour men, and you bereave your nation of children,' |
| 14 perciò, tu non divorerai più gli uomini, e non farai più morir le tue genti, dice il Signore Iddio. | 14 therefore you shall no longer devour men and no longer bereave your nation of children, says the Lord GOD; |
| 15 E non ti farò più udire l’onte delle nazioni, e tu non porterai più il vituperio de’ popoli, e non farai più morir le tue genti, dice il Signore Iddio | 15 and I will not let you hear any more the reproach of the nations, and you shall no longer bear the disgrace of the peoples and no longer cause your nation to stumble, says the Lord GOD." |
| 16 LA parola del Signore mi fu ancora indirizzata, dicendo: | 16 The word of the LORD came to me: |
| 17 Figliuol d’uomo, que’ della casa d’Israele, dimorando nella lor terra, l’hanno contaminata col lor procedere, e co’ lor fatti; il lor procedere è stato nel mio cospetto, come la lordura della donna immonda. | 17 "Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their ways and their doings; their conduct before me was like the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity. |
| 18 Laonde io ho sparsa la mia ira sopra loro, per lo sangue che aveano sparso sopra la terra; e perciocchè l’aveano contaminata co’ loro idoli. | 18 So I poured out my wrath upon them for the blood which they had shed in the land, for the idols with which they had defiled it. |
| 19 E li ho dispersi fra le genti, e sono stati sventolati fra i paesi; io li ho giudicati secondo il lor procedere, e secondo i lor fatti. | 19 I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries; in accordance with their conduct and their deeds I judged them. |
| 20 Ma essendo giunti fra le genti, dove son venuti, han profanato il mio Nome santo; essendo detto di loro: Costoro sono il popolo di Dio, e sono usciti del suo paese. | 20 But when they came to the nations, wherever they came, they profaned my holy name, in that men said of them, 'These are the people of the LORD, and yet they had to go out of his land.' |
| 21 Ed io ho avuto riguardo al mio santo Nome, il quale la casa d’Israele ha profanato fra le nazioni, dove son venuti. | 21 But I had concern for my holy name, which the house of Israel caused to be profaned among the nations to which they came. |
| 22 Perciò, di’ alla casa d’Israele: Così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Io opero, non per cagion di voi, o casa d’Israele; anzi, per amor del mio santo Nome, il quale voi avete profanato fra le genti, dove siete venuti. | 22 "Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came. |
| 23 E santificherò il mio gran Nome, ch’è stato profanato fra le genti, il qual voi avete profanato in mezzo di esse; e le genti conosceranno che io sono il Signore, dice il Signore Iddio; quando io mi sarò santificato in voi, nel cospetto loro. | 23 And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them; and the nations will know that I am the LORD, says the Lord GOD, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes. |
| 24 E vi ritrarrò d’infra le genti, e vi raccoglierò da tutti i paesi, e vi ricondurrò nella vostra terra | 24 For I will take you from the nations, and gather you from all the countries, and bring you into your own land. |
| 25 E spanderò sopra voi delle acque nette, e sarete nettati; io vi netterò di tutte le vostre brutture, e di tutti i vostri idoli. | 25 I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. |
| 26 E vi darò un cuor nuovo, e metterò uno spirito nuovo dentro di voi; e rimoverò il cuor di pietra dalla vostra carne, e vi darò un cuor di carne. | 26 A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will take out of your flesh the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. |
| 27 E metterò il mio Spirito dentro di voi, e farò che camminerete ne’ miei statuti, e che osserverete, e metterete ad effetto le mie leggi. | 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances. |
| 28 E voi abiterete nel paese, che io ho dato a’ vostri padri; e mi sarete popolo, ed io vi sarò Dio. | 28 You shall dwell in the land which I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God. |
| 29 E vi salverò, di tutte le vostre brutture; e chiamerò il frumento, e lo farò moltiplicare; e non manderò più sopra voi la fame. | 29 And I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses; and I will summon the grain and make it abundant and lay no famine upon you. |
| 30 Ed accrescerò i frutti degli alberi, e la rendita de’ campi; acciocchè non riceviate più vituperio fra le genti, per la fame. | 30 I will make the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field abundant, that you may never again suffer the disgrace of famine among the nations. |
| 31 E voi vi ricorderete delle vostre vie malvage, e de’ vostri fatti, che non sono stati buoni; e vi accorerete appo voi stessi, per le vostre iniquità, e per le vostre abbominazioni. | 31 Then you will remember your evil ways, and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves for your iniquities and your abominable deeds. |
| 32 Egli non è per amor di voi che io opero, dice il Signore Iddio; siavi pur noto; vergognatevi, e siate confusi delle vostre vie, o casa d’Israele. | 32 It is not for your sake that I will act, says the Lord GOD; let that be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel. |
| 33 Così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Nel giorno che io vi netterò di tutte le vostre iniquità, io farò che le città saranno abitate, e che i luoghi deserti saranno riedificati. | 33 "Thus says the Lord GOD: On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be rebuilt. |
| 34 E la terra desolata sarà lavorata, in luogo ch’ella era tutta deserta, alla vista d’ogni passante. | 34 And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, instead of being the desolation that it was in the sight of all who passed by. |
| 35 E si dirà: Questa terra ch’era desolata, è divenuta simile al giardino di Eden; e queste città ch’eran distrutte, deserte, e ruinate, ora son murate, ed abitate. | 35 And they will say, 'This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now inhabited and fortified.' |
| 36 E le nazioni che saran rimaste d’intorno a voi, conosceranno che io, il Signore, avrò riedificati i luoghi ruinati, e piantata la terra deserta. Io, il Signore, ho parlato, ed altresì metterò la cosa ad effetto. | 36 Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I, the LORD, have rebuilt the ruined places, and replanted that which was desolate; I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will do it. |
| 37 Così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Ancora sarò io richiesto dalla casa d’Israele, di far loro questo, cioè, di farli moltiplicar d’uomini, a guisa di pecore. | 37 "Thus says the Lord GOD: This also I will let the house of Israel ask me to do for them: to increase their men like a flock. |
| 38 A guisa delle gregge delle bestie consacrate, a guisa delle gregge di Gerusalemme, nelle sue feste solenni; così saranno le città deserte piene di gregge d’uomini; e si conoscerà che io sono il Signore | 38 Like the flock for sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men. Then they will know that I am the LORD." |
