Salmos 124

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Canto de peregrinación. De David. Si el Señor no hubiera estado de nuestra parte –que lo diga Israel–,	1 [Song of Ascents Of David] If Yahweh had not been on our side -- let Israel repeat it-
2 si el Señor no hubiera estado de nuestra parte, cuando los hombres se alzaron contra nosotros,	2 if Yahweh had not been on our side when people attacked us,
3 nos habrían devorado vivos. Cuando ardió su furor contra nosotros,	3 they would have swal owed us alive in the heat of their anger.
4 las aguas nos habrían inundado, un torrente nos habría sumergido,	4 Then water was washing us away, a torrent running right over us;
5 nos habrían sumergido las aguas turbulentas.	5 running right over us then were turbulent waters.
6 ¡Bendito sea el Señor, que no nos entregó como presa de sus dientes!	6 Blessed be Yahweh for not letting us fall a prey to their teeth!
7 Nuestra vida se salvó como un pájaro de la trampa del cazador: la trampa se rompió y nosotros escapamos.	7 We escaped like a bird from the fowlers' net. The net was broken and we escaped;
8 Nuestra ayuda está en el nombre del Señor, que hizo el cielo y la tierra.	8 our help is in the name of Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.
