Ezequiel 22

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 La palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 Y tú, hijo de hombre, ¿no vas a juzgar? ¿No vas a juzgar a la ciudad sanguinaria? Hazle saber todas sus abominaciones.	2 'Son of man, are you ready to judge? Are you ready to judge the blood-stained city? Confront her withal her loathsome practices!
3 Dirás: Así dice el Señor Yahveh: Ciudad que derramas sangre en medio de ti para que llegue tu hora, que haces basuras en tu suelo para contaminarte,	3 Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: City shedding blood inside yourself to hasten your doom, makingfoul idols on your soil to defile yourself,
4 por la sangre que derramaste te has hecho culpable, con las basuras que hiciste te has contaminado; has adelantado tu hora, ha llegado el término de tus años. Por eso yo he hecho de ti la burla de las naciones y la irrisión de todos los países.	4 you have incurred guilt by the blood you have shed, you have defiled yourself with the foul idols youhave made, you have shortened your days, you have come to the end of your years. This is why I have madeyou an object of scorn to the nations and a laughing-stock to every country.
5 Próximos y lejanos, se reirán de ti, ciudad de nombre impuro, llena de desórdenes.	5 From far and near they will taunt you with your infamous disorders.
6 Ahí están dentro de ti los príncipes de Israel, cada uno según su poder, sólo ocupados en derramar sangre.	6 "Look! In you the princes of Israel, one and all, have furthered their own interests at the cost ofbloodshed;
7 En ti se desprecia al padre y a la madre, en ti se maltrata al forastero residente, en ti se oprime al huérfano y a la viuda.	7 in you people have despised their fathers and mothers; in you they have il -treated the settler; in youthey have oppressed the widow and orphan.
8 No tienes respeto a mis cosas sagradas, profanas mis sábados.	8 You have treated my sanctuary with contempt, you have profaned my Sabbaths.
9 Hay en ti gente que calumnia para verter sangre. En ti se come en los montes, y se comete infamia.	9 In you informers incite to bloodshed; in you people eat on the mountains and act licentiously;
10 En ti se descubre la desnudez del propio padre, en ti se hace violencia a la mujer en estado de impureza.	10 in you they have sexual intercourse with their fathers; in you they force themselves on women in theirperiods;
11 Un comete abominación con la mujer de su prójimo, el otro se contamina de manera infame con su nuera, otro hace violencia a su hermana, la hija de su propio padre;	11 in you one man engages in loathsome practices with his neighbour's wife, another lewdly defiles hisdaughter-in-law, another violates his sister, his own father's daughter.
12 en ti se acepta soborno para derramar sangre; tomas a usura e interés, explotas a tu prójimo con violencia, y te has olvidado de mí, oráculo del Señor Yahveh.	12 In you people take bribes for shedding blood; you lend for profit and charge interest, you profit fromyour fel ow by extortion and have forgotten about me -- declares the Lord Yahweh.
13 Mira, yo voy a batir palmas a causa de los actos de pillaje que has cometido y de la sangre que corre en medio de ti.	13 "Now I shal clap my hands at your acts of banditry and the blood that flows in you.
14 ¿Podrá tu corazón resistir y tus manos seguir firmes el día en que yo actúe contra ti? Yo, Yahveh, he hablado y lo haré.	14 Wil your heart be able to resist, will your hands be steady, the day when I cal you to account? I,Yahweh, have spoken and shall act.
15 Te dispersaré entre las naciones, te esparciré por los países, borraré la impureza que hay en medio de ti,	15 I shal scatter you among the nations and disperse you in foreign countries, and so put an end to thefilthiness now inside you;
16 por ti misma te verás profanada a los ojos de las naciones, y sabrás que yo soy Yahveh.	16 through your own fault, you wil be profaned in the eyes of the nations, and you wil know that I amYahweh!" '
17 La palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos:	17 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
18 Hijo de hombre, la casa de Israel se me ha convertido en escoria; todos son cobre, estaño, hierro, plomo, en medio de un horno; ¡escoria son!	18 'Son of man, for me, the House of Israel has become dross: copper, tin, iron, lead, al mixed uptogether in the melting-pot; they are dross.
19 Por eso, así dice el Señor Yahveh: Por haberos convertido todos vosotros en escoria, por eso voy a juntaros en medio de Jerusalén.	19 And so, Lord Yahweh says this, "Since you have al become dross, right! I shall collect you insideJerusalem.
20 Como se pone junto plata, cobre, hierro, plomo y estaño en el horno, y se atiza el fuego por debajo para fundirlo todo, así os juntaré yo en mi cólera y mi furor; os pondré y os fundiré.	20 As silver, copper, iron, lead and tin are col ected in the melting-pot, and the fire is blown underneathto melt them down, so I shal collect you in my furious anger and have you melted down;
21 Os reuniré, atizaré contra vosotros el fuego de mi furia, y os fundiré en medio de la ciudad.	21 I shal collect you and blow up the fire of my rage for you and have you melted down inside the city.
22 Como se funde la plata en medio del horno, así seréis fundidos vosotros en medio de ella, y sabréis que yo, Yahveh, he derramado mi furor sobre vosotros.	22 As silver is melted in the melting-pot, so you will be melted down inside the city, and you wil knowthat I, Yahweh, have vented my fury on you." '
23 La palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos:	23 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
24 Hijo de hombre, dile: Eres una tierra que no ha tenido lluvia ni inundación en el día de la Ira;	24 'Son of man, say to her, "You are a land that has not received rain or shower on the day of anger.
25 los príncipes que en ella residen son como un león rugiente que desgarra su presa. Han devorado a la gente, se han apoderado de haciendas y joyas, han multiplicado las viudas en medio de ella.	25 In you, the princes are like a roaring lion tearing its prey. They have eaten the people, seized wealthand jewels and widowed many inside her.
26 Sus sacerdotes han violado mi ley y profanado mis cosas sagradas; no han hecho diferencia entre lo sagrado y lo profano, ni han enseñado a distinguir entre lo puro y lo impuro; se han tapado los ojos para no ver mis sábados, y yo he sido deshonrado en medio de ellos.	26 Her priests have violated my law and desecrated my sanctuary; they have made no distinctionbetween sacred and profane, they have not taught people the difference between clean and unclean; they haveturned their eyes away from my Sabbaths and I have been dishonoured by them.
27 Sus jefes, en medio de ella, son como lobos que desgarran su presa, que derraman sangre, matando a las personas para robar sus bienes.	27 In her the leaders are wolves tearing their prey, shedding blood and killing people to steal theirpossessions.
28 Sus profetas los han recubierto de argamasa con sus vanas visiones y sus presagios mentirosos, diciendo: «Así dice el Señor Yahveh», cuando Yahveh no había hablado.	28 Her prophets have plastered these things over with their empty visions and lying prophecies, saying:Yahweh says this, although Yahweh has not spoken.
29 El pueblo de la tierra ha hecho violencia y cometido pillaje, ha oprimido al pobre y al indigente, ha maltratado al forastero sin ningún derecho.	29 The people of the country have taken to extortion and banditry; they have oppressed the poor andneedy and il -treated the settler in a way that is unjustifiable.
30 He buscado entre ellos alguno que construyera un muro y se mantuviera de pie en la brecha ante mí, para proteger la tierra e impedir que yo la destruyera, y no he encontrado a a nadie.	30 I have been looking for someone among them to build a barricade and oppose me in the breach, todefend the country and prevent me from destroying it; but I have found no one.
31 Entonces he derramado mi ira sobre ellos; en el fuego de mi furia los he exterminado: he hecho caer su conducta sobre su cabeza, oráculo del Señor Yahveh.	31 Hence I have vented my fury on them; I have put an end to them in the fire of my rage. I have madetheir conduct recoil on their own heads -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '
