Jeremías 45

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Palabra que dijo el profeta Jeremías a Baruc, hijo de Neriyías, cuando éste copiaba estas palabras en un libro al dictado de Jeremías, en el año cuarto de Yoyaquim, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá.	1 The word that the prophet Jeremiah addressed to Baruch son of Neriah when the latter wrote thesewords down in a book at Jeremiah's dictation in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah,
2 Así dice Yahveh, el Dios de Israel, respecto a ti, oh Baruc:	2 'This is what Yahweh God of Israel says about you, Baruch!
3 Tú dijiste: «¡Ay de mí, que añade Yahveh congoja a mi sufrimiento! Me he agotado en mi jadeo, pero sosiego no hallé».	3 "You have been thinking: what disaster for me, and Yahweh has added further grief to my troubles! Iam worn out with groaning, and find no relief!"
4 Así le dirás: Esto dice Yahveh: Mira que lo que edifiqué, yo lo derribo, y aquello que planté, yo lo arranco, esto por toda la tierra.	4 Say to him as fol ows, "Yahweh says this: Now I am knocking down what I have built, am uprootingwhat I have planted, over the whole country!
5 ¡Y tú andas buscándote grandezas! No las busques porque mira que yo traigo desgracia sobre toda carne - oráculo de Yahveh - pero a ti te daré la vida salva por botín a donde quiera que vayas.	5 And you ask for special treatment! Do not ask, for I am now going to bring disaster on al humanity,Yahweh declares, but you I shal al ow to escape with your life, wherever you may go." '
