1 Questo sappi, che ne' ultimi dì saranno tempi pericolosi.	1 And know this: that in the last days perilous times will press near.
2 E gli uomini ameranno pure loro medesimi; e saranno cupidi, levati di superbia, biastematori, non obbedienti al padre e alla madre, isconoscenti de' beneficii ricevuti, pieni di peccati,	2 Men will be lovers of themselves, greedy, self-exalting, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked,
3 senza amore e senza pace, imponitori de' peccati sopra altrui; e non si conterranno a castità; non saranno pietosi, anzi saranno senza benignità;	3 without affection, without peace, false accusers, unchaste, cruel, without kindness,
4 traditori, crudi, enfiati, amatori de' peccati più che di Dio;	4 traitorous, reckless, self-important, loving pleasure more than God,
5 e avendo vista d' (essere buoni e) avere pietà e virtù, si la niegano (e rifiutano). E tutti questi tali, schifali (e non abbi usanza con loro).	5 even having the appearance of piety while rejecting its virtue. And so, avoid them.
6 E di costoro son alquanti, che vanno cercando le magioni, e ingannano le feminelle, le quali son incaricate di peccati e son menate da molti desiderii.	6 For among these are ones who penetrate houses and lead away, like captives, foolish women burdened with sins, who are led away by means of various desires,
7 E questi tali sempre apparano (e imprendono), e di niuno tempo pervengono alla scienza della verità.	7 always learning, yet never achieving knowledge of the truth.
8 E sì come Ianne e Mambre contesero a Moisè, e così resistono (e contrastano) questi alla verità; e son uomini corrotti della mente, e d' incontro alla fede.	8 And in the same manner that Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so also will these resist the truth, men corrupted in mind, reprobates from the faith.
9 Ma egli non (cresceranno e non) andaranno più inanzi; chè la stoltezza loro sarà manifesta a tutti, come etiam fu quella di coloro.	9 But they will not advance beyond a certain point. For the folly of the latter shall be made manifest to all, just as that of the former.
10 Ma tu (hai guadagnato e) sei pervenuto alla mia dottrina e ordinamento; e hai seguitato il mio proponimento e la fede e la lunga perseveranza e l'amore e la pazienza,	10 But you have fully comprehended my doctrine, instruction, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,
11 e le persecuzioni e le passioni, le quali son fatte a me in Antiochia e in Iconio e in Listri, e qualunque altra persecuzione ch' io abbo sostenuto; e da tutte m' ha liberato il Signore.	11 persecutions, afflictions; such things as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra; how I endured persecutions, and how the Lord rescued me from everything.
12 E tutti coloro che vogliono vivere santamente in Cristo, tutti sostengono persecuzione.	12 And all those who willingly live the piety in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
13 Li malvagi uomini e li ingannatori crescono in peggio, errando e mettendo altrui in errore.	13 But evil men and deceivers will advance in evil, erring and sending into error.
14 Ma tu dimora in quelle cose che tu imprendesti, e in quelle cose che son date a te, sapiendo da cui tu le imprendesti,	14 Yet truly, you should remain in those things which you have learned and which have been entrusted to you. For you know from whom you have learned them.
15 e che insino dalla gioventù conoscesti le scritture sacre, le quali ti possono ammaestrare a salute, per la fede la qual è in Iesù Cristo.	15 And, from your infancy, you have known the Sacred Scriptures, which are able to instruct you toward salvation, through the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 Chè ogni scrittura, da Dio spirata, sì è utile ad ammaestrare e a riprendere e a castigare e a fare imprendere la giustizia;	16 All Scripture, having been divinely inspired, is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in justice,
17 chè l' uomo di Dio sia perfetto ad ogni bona opera, e ammaestrato.	17 so that the man of God may be perfect, having been trained for every good work.
