1 E dopo sei giorni prese Iesù Pietro, Iacobo e Ioanne suo fratello, e menogli suso uno monte molto alto (e quivi gli ebbe) da una parte.	1 And after six days, Jesus took Peter and James and his brother John, and he led them onto a lofty mountain separately.
2 E trasfigurossi dinanzi da loro; e la faccia sua risplendeva come lo sole, e le sue vestimenta diventorono come neve.	2 And he was transfigured before them. And his face shined brightly like the sun. And his garments were made white like snow.
3 E incontinente quivi apparve Moisè ed Elia, e parlarono con lui.	3 And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, speaking with him.
4 Allora disse Pietro a Iesù: Signore, se tu vuoli, buono è essere qui; faciamo tre tabernacoli, a te uno, e a Moisè uno, e a Elia uno.	4 And Peter responded by saying to Jesus: “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you are willing, let us make three tabernacles here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
5 E così parlando, venne una nuvola (chiara e) lucida, e copersegli tutti. E una voce uscì della nuvola, e disse: questo è il mio Figliuolo diletto, nel qual mi sono bene compiaciuto; lui udite.	5 And while he was still speaking, behold, a shining cloud overshadowed them. And behold, there was a voice from the cloud, saying: “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”
6 E udendo questo, li discepoli caddeno dinanzi alla faccia di Iesù, ed ebbeno grande paura.	6 And the disciples, hearing this, fell prone on their face, and they were very afraid.
7 E Iesù si accostò a loro, e toccolli, e disse: levate su, e non abbiate paura.	7 And Jesus drew near and touched them. And he said to them, “Rise up and do not be afraid.”
8 E poscia egli, li occhi loro levando, non videro persona, se non solo Iesù.	8 And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus alone.
9 E discendendo dal monte, comandò loro Iesù, che non dicessero a persona questa visione, insino a tanto che il Figliuolo dell' uomo non sia resuscitato da morte.	9 And as they were descending from the mountain, Jesus instructed them, saying, “Tell no one about the vision, until the Son of man has risen from the dead.”
10 E li discepoli addomandorouo quello, dicendo: il perchè adunque li Scribi dicono che bisogna che prima venga Elia?	10 And his disciples questioned him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that it is necessary for Elijah to arrive first?”
11 Ed egli rispondendo disse: certo egli è per venire Elia, e restituirà ogni cosa.	11 But in response, he said to them: “Elijah, indeed, shall arrive and restore all things.
12 Ma io vi dico, come già è venuto Elia, e loro nol conobbero; ma fecero in lui tutto quello che volsero. Così etiam il Figliuolo dell' uomo sarà passionato da loro.	12 But I say to you, that Elijah has already arrived, and they did not recognize him, but they did whatever they wanted to him. So also shall the Son of man suffer from them.”
13 Allora intesero li discepoli, ch' egli avesse detto a loro di Ioanne Battista.	13 Then the disciples understood that he had spoken to them about John the Baptist.
14 Ed essendo venuto alla turba, andò a lui uno uomo, rivoltato con li ginocchi a terra dinanzi a lui, dicendo: Signore, abbi misericordia del mio figliuolo, imperò ch' egli è lunatico, ed è malamente tormentato; onde spesse fiate cade nel fuoco, e frequentemente nell' acqua.	14 And when he had arrived at the multitude, a man approached him, falling to his knees before him, saying: “Lord, take pity on my son, for he is an epileptic, and he suffers harm. For he frequently falls into fire, and often also into water.
15 E hollo portato a' tuoi discepoli, e loro noll'hanno possiuto sanare.	15 And I brought him to your disciples, but they were not able to cure him.”
16 Respondendo Iesù, disse: o incredula e perversa generazione, insino a quando sarò con voi? insino a quando vi sopporterò io? Portatelo costì a me.	16 Then Jesus responded by saying: “What an unbelieving and perverse generation! How long shall I be with you? How long shall I endure you? Bring him here to me.”
17 E Iesù il riprese, e incontanente da lui uscitte il demonio, e in quell' ora fu sanato il fanciullo.	17 And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour.
18 Allora andorono secretamente li discepoli da Iesù, e dissero: il perchè noi non abbiamo possiuto cacciare quello?	18 Then the disciples approached Jesus privately and said, “Why were we unable to cast him out?”
19 Ed egli disse: questo è per il vostro non credere; ma io vi dico in verità: se avrete la fede, come è uno grano di senapa, direte a questo monte: pàrtiti quindi, ed egli si partirà; e a voi nulla sarà cosa impossibile	19 Jesus said to them: “Because of your unbelief. Amen I say to you, certainly, if you will have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it shall move. And nothing will be impossible for you.
20 Ma questa generazione (di demonia) non si caccia se non per orazione e digiuno.	20 But this kind is not cast out, except through prayer and fasting.”
21 E andante insieme per Galilea, disse a quelli Iesù: egli è per essere dato il Figliuolo dell' uomo nelle mani delli uomini.	21 And when they were conversing together in Galilee, Jesus said to them: “The Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.
22 E uccideranlo, ed egli resusciterà il terzo giorno. Ma questi furono grandemente contristati.	22 And they will kill him, but he will rise again on the third day.” And they were extremely saddened.
23 Ed essendo venuto in Cafarnao, andorono da Pietro coloro che toglievano li duoi denari usuali per tributo, dicendo: il vostro Maestro non ha pagato li duoi denari?	23 And when they had arrived at Capernaum, those who collected the half shekel approached Peter, and they said to him, “Doesn’t your Teacher pay the half shekel?”
24 Ed egli disse: egli è vero. Ed essendo entrato in casa, venneli dinanzi Iesù, dicendo: che ti pare Simone? Li re della terra da quali togliono il tributo, ovvero censo? dalli suoi figliuoli, ovvero dalli estranei?	24 He said, “Yes.” And when he had entered into the house, Jesus went before him, saying: “How does it seem to you, Simon? The kings of the earth, from whom do they receive tribute or the census tax: from their own sons or from foreigners?”
25 Ed egli disse: dalli alieni (ovvero estranei). Allo quale disse Iesù: adunque li figliuoli sono liberi.	25 And he said, “From foreigners.” Jesus said to him: “Then the sons are free.
26 Ma perchè non si scandalizzino, vattene al mare, e getta l'amo; e quel pesce che prima salirà, toglilo; e aperto che avrai la sua bocca, trovera'gli duoi denari; tuo'gli, e dàlli per me e te.	26 But so that we may not become an obstacle to them: go to the sea, and cast in a hook, and take the first fish that is brought up, and when you have opened its mouth, you will find a shekel. Take it and give it to them, for me and for you.”
