BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Salmo a esso David. A te confesserò, Signore, in tutto lo cuore mio; per che hai udito le parole della bocca mia. A te dirò laude nel cospetto delli angeli.	1 By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept at the memory of Zion.
2 Adorerò al tempio santo tuo, e confesserò al nome tuo, sopra la misericordia e verità tua: per che hai magnificato [sopra] ogni [il] nome santo tuo.	2 On the poplars there we had hung up our harps.
3 In qualunque die te invocarò, esaudi me; nell'anima mia multiplicarai la virtù.	3 For there our gaolers had asked us to sing them a song, our captors to make merry, 'Sing us one ofthe songs of Zion.'
4 A te si confessino tutti li re della terra; per che hanno udito le parole della bocca tua.	4 How could we sing a song of Yahweh on alien soil?
5 E cantaranno nelle vie del Signore; però che grande è la gloria del Signore.	5 If I forget you, Jerusalem, may my right hand wither!
6 Per che l'eccelso Signore risguarda le cose umili; e le alte dalla lunga cognosce.	6 May my tongue remain stuck to my palate if I do not keep you in mind, if I do not count Jerusalem thegreatest of my joys.
7 Se io andarò in mezzo della tribulazione, tu mi vivificherai; ed estendesti sopra l'ira de' miei nemici la mano tua, e fece me salvo la destra tua.	7 Remember, Yahweh, to the Edomites' cost, the day of Jerusalem, how they said, 'Down with it! Raseit to the ground!'
8 Il Signore per me retribuirà; Signore, la tua misericordia è IN SECULUM; non disprezzare l'opera delle tue mani.	8 Daughter of Babel, doomed to destruction, a blessing on anyone who treats you as you treated us,
	9 a blessing on anyone who seizes your babies and shatters them against a rock!
