1 E quando incominciò a regnare, Manasse era di XII anni; e LV anni regnò in Ierusalem.	1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for fifty-five years inJerusalem.
2 E fece male nel cospetto del Signore, secondo (tutte) le abominazioni delle genti le quali il Signore dissipoe dinanzi a (tutti) i figliuoli d' Israel.	2 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, copying the disgusting practices of the nations whom Yahwehhad dispossessed for the Israelites.
3 E convertendosi restaurò i luoghi alti, i quali avea dissipati il suo padre Ezechia; e fece altari a Baalim, e fece boschi, e adoroe tutta la milizia del cielo, e coltivolla.	3 He rebuilt the high places which his father Hezekiah had demolished, he set up altars to Baal andmade sacred poles, he worshipped the whole array of heaven and served it.
4 Ed edificò altari nella casa di Dio, della quale avea detto il Signore: in Ierusalem sarà il nome mio in eterno.	4 He built altars in the Temple of Yahweh, of which Yahweh had said, 'My name wil be in Jerusalem forever.'
5 Ed edificogli a tutto l'esercito del cielo in due palagi della casa di Dio.	5 He built altars to the whole array of heaven in the two courts of the Temple of Yahweh.
6 E fece passare i suoi figliuoli per lo fuoco nella valle di Benennom; attendea a' sogni, seguitava le divinazioni, e servia all' arti malefiche, e avea seco maghi (e divinatori) e incantatori; e molti mali operò nel cospetto di Dio per provocarlo.	6 He caused his sons to pass through the fire of sacrifice in the Val ey of Ben-Hinnom. He practisedsoothsaying, divination and sorcery, and had dealings with mediums and spirit-guides. He did very many morethings displeasing to Yahweh, thus provoking his anger.
7 E nella casa di Dio puose (uno segnale cioè) una imagine fonduta, della quale cosa favellò Iddio a David e al suo figliuolo [Salomone], dicendo: in questa casa e in Ierusalem, la quale io hoe eletta di tutte le tribù d'Israel, porrò il mio nome in sempiterno.	7 He put a sculpted image, an idol which he had had made, inside the Temple of which God had said toDavid and his son Solomon, 'In this Temple and in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen out of al the tribes ofIsrael, I shal put my name for ever.
8 E non farò muovere il piede ad Israel della terra la quale io diedi a' padri loro, in questo modo se egli faranno quelle cose le quali io hoe comandate loro, tutta la legge e le osservanze e li giudicii (li quali io comandai) per le mani di Moisè.	8 Nor shal I ever again remove Israel's foot from the soil on which I established your ancestors oncondition that they were careful to observe al I commanded them as laid down in the whole Law, the statutesand the ordinances, given through Moses.'
9 Onde che Manasse ingannò Giuda e gli abitatori di Ierusalem, che facessero male sopra tutte le genti le quali il Signore avea disperse dinanzi ai figliuoli d' Israel.	9 But Manasseh misled Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem into doing worse things than the nationswhich Yahweh had destroyed for the Israelites.
10 E favelloe il Signore a lui e al popolo, e non volsero attendere.	10 When Yahweh spoke to Manasseh and his people, they would not listen.
11 E però indusse sopra di loro i principi dello esercito del re degli Assirii; e presero Manasse, e legato con catene e con ceppi il menarono in Babilonia.	11 Yahweh then brought down on them the generals of the king of Assyria's army who capturedManasseh with hooks, put him in chains and took him to Babylon.
12 Il quale, poi che fu costretto, orò al suo Signore Iddio; e pentissi molto nel cospetto del Signore Iddio de' padri suoi.	12 While in his distress, he placated Yahweh his God by genuinely humbling himself before the God ofhis ancestors.
13 E pregollo molto attentamente; ed esaudio la sua orazione, e ridusselo in Ierusalem nel regno suo, e conobbe Manasse che il Signore lui è Iddio.	13 When he prayed to him, he was moved by his entreaty, heard his supplication and brought him backto Jerusalem to his kingdom. Manasseh realised then that Yahweh is God.
14 Dopo queste cose edificò il muro di fuori della città di David, alle parti dell' occidente di Gion nella valle, dall' entrata della porta de' pesci dintorno insino ad Ofel, e alzollo molto; e puose principi dello esercito in tutte le cittadi fornite di Giuda.	14 Afterwards, he rebuilt the outer wall of the City of David, to the west of Gihon, in the val ey, up to theFish Gate and round the Ophel, and made it very much higher. And he stationed military governors in al thefortified towns of Judah.
15 E tolse via gli dii altrui e le statue della casa di Dio, e gli altari i quali avea fatti ne' monti della casa di Dio e in Ierusalem; e tutti gli gittò fuori della città.	15 He also removed the foreign gods and the idol from the Temple of Yahweh, as well as all the altarswhich he had built on the mountain of the Temple of Yahweh and in Jerusalem, and threw them out of the city.
16 E rifece l' altare del Signore, e offerse sopra quello vittime, pacifiche (ostie) e laude; e comandò a Giuda, che servisse al suo Signore Iddio d'Israel.	16 He repaired the altar of Yahweh and offered communion sacrifices and thanksgiving offerings on it,and commanded Judah to serve Yahweh, God of Israel.
17 Ma pure il popolo sacrificava ne' luoghi alti al suo Signore Iddio.	17 The people, however, went on sacrificing at the high places, although only to Yahweh their God.
18 Tutte l'altre cose di Manasse, e la sua osservanza al Dio suo, e le parole de' profeti li quali favellavano a lui nel nome del Signore d' Israel, si contiene nei sermoni de' re d'Israel.	18 The rest of the history of Manasseh, his prayer to his God, and the prophecies of the seers whospoke to him in the name of Yahweh, God of Israel, can be found in the Annals of the Kings of Israel.
19 E la sua orazione e la esaudizione, e tutti i peccati e dispregiamenti, e i luoghi alti i quali edificoe (e l'altezze), e fece boschi e le statue prima che facesse penitenza, sono scritte nei sermoni di Ozai.	19 His prayer and how God was moved by his entreaty, all his sins, his infidelity, the sites where he builthigh places and set up sacred poles and idols before humbling himself, are set down in the records of Hozai.
20 E dormio Manasse coi padri suoi, e seppellironlo nella casa sua; e regnò per lui il suo figliuolo Amon.	20 Then Manasseh fel asleep with his ancestors and was buried in the garden of his palace. His sonAmon succeeded him.
21 E Amon, quando incominciò a regnare, era di XXII anni; e due anni regnò in Ierusalem.	21 Amon was twenty-two years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for two years inJerusalem.
22 E fece male nel cospetto di Dio, sì come avea fatto Manasse suo padre	22 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, as his father Manasseh had done, for Amon sacrificed to althe images which his father Manasseh had made, and served them.
23 E non ebbe riverenza alla faccia di Dio, sì come ebbe riverenza Manasse suo padre; e in molte maggiori cose falloe.	23 He did not humble himself before Yahweh as his father Manasseh had done; on the contrary, Amonwilfully added to his guilt.
24 E congiurati contra lui, i servi suoi ucciserlo nella casa sua.	24 His retinue plotted against him and killed him in his own palace.
25 E tutta l'altra moltitudine del popolo uccisono coloro i quali aveano morto Amon, e fecero re per lui Iosia suo figliuolo.	25 The people of the country, however, slaughtered al those who had plotted against King Amon andproclaimed his son Josiah as his successor.
