1 Cominciò Salomone a edificare la casa del Signore in Ierusalem nel monte Moria, il quale fu mostrato a suo padre David nell' aia di Ornan Iebuseo.	1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, which had been pointed out to his father David, on the spot which David had selected, the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2 E cominciò a edificare il secondo mese del quarto anno del suo regno.	2 He began to build in the second month of the fourth year of his reign.
3 E queste sono le fondamenta che Salomone puose, edificando la casa del Signore Iddio; nella prima misura era la lunghezza LX cubiti; in larghezza XX cubiti.	3 These were the specifications laid down by Solomon for building the house of God: the length was sixty cubits according to the old measure, and the width was twenty cubits;
4 Il portico il quale era dinanzi alla facciata, la quale si stendeva nello lungo secondo la misura della larghezza della casa, XX cubiti; e l'altezza era di CXX cubiti; e dorolla dentro d'oro purissimo.	4 the porch which lay before the nave along the width of the house was also twenty cubits, and it was twenty cubits high. He overlaid its interior with pure gold.
5 La casa maggiore coperse di tavole di legno d'abete, e piastre d'oro obrizo conficcce per tutto; e intagliò in essa palme, e quasi come catenelle che tenesse l'una l'altra.	5 The nave he overlaid with cypress wood which he covered with fine gold, embossing on it palms and chains.
6 E lo spazzo del tempio fece di preziosissimo marmo, di grande bellezza.	6 He also decorated the building with precious stones.
7 E l'oro era probatissimo, delle piastre del quale coperse dentro la casa, e' travi suoi e le mura e l'uscia; e nelle mura sculpì cherubini.	7 The house, its beams and thresholds, as well as its walls and its doors, he overlaid with gold, and he engraved cherubim upon the walls. (The gold was from Parvaim.)
8 E fece la casa di SANCTA SANCTORUM; per lunghezza secondo la larghezza della casa [di XX cubiti; e la larghezza similmente] di XX cubiti; e copersela tutta di piastre d'oro, quasi di secento talenti.	8 He also made the room of the holy of holies. Its length corresponded to the width of the house, twenty cubits, and its width was also twenty cubits. He overlaid it with fine gold to the amount of six hundred talents.
9 E gli aguti fece d'oro, sì che ciascuno aguto pesava cinquanta sicli; e le sale coperse d'oro.	9 The weight of the nails was fifty gold shekels. The upper chambers he likewise covered with gold.
10 E nella casa di SANCTA SANCTORUM fece dui cherubini, d' opra di statue; e copersegli d' oro.	10 For the room of the holy of holies he made two cherubim of carved workmanship, which were then overlaid with gold.
11 L' ali de' cherubini si estendeano venti cubiti, sì che l' una ala avea cinque cubiti, e toccava il muro della casa; e l'altra ala era anco di cinque cubiti, e toccava l'ala dell' altro cherubino.	11 The wings of the cherubim spanned twenty cubits:
12 E similmente l'ala dell' altro cherubino era di cinque cubiti, e toccava il muro; e l'altra ala sua, la quale era anche di cinque cubiti, toccava l'ala dell' altro cherubino.	12 one wing of each cherub, five cubits in length, extended to a wall of the building, while the other wing, also five cubits in length, touched the corresponding wing of the second cherub.
13 Ed erano sparte le ali dell' uno e dell' altro cherubino per XX cubiti; ed egli istavano diritti in su gli piedi, e i visi loro erano volti verso la casa (loro) di fuori.	13 The combined wingspread of the two cherubim was thus twenty cubits. They stood upon their own feet, facing toward the nave.
14 E fece uno velo di iacinto, di porpora, di cocco e di bisso; e tessevvi dentro cherubini.	14 He made the veil of violet, purple, crimson and fine linen, and had cherubim embroidered upon it.
15 E dinanzi alla porta del tempio fece due colonne, delle quali ciascuna era lunga XXXV cubiti; e i loro capi erano di cinque cubiti;	15 In front of the building he set two columns thirty-five cubits high; the capital topping each was of five cubits.
16 e anche nell' oracolo in modo di catenelle, e puose in su gli capi delle colonne; e cento melegrane interpuose tra le catenelle.	16 He worked out chains in the form of a collar with which he encircled the capitals of the columns, and he made a hundred pomegranates which he set on the chains.
17 E le dette colonne puose nel vestibolo del tempio, l' una dalla parte diritta, e l'altra dalla parte sinistra; e quella la quale era dalla parte diritta chiamò IACHIN (cioè a dire fermezza), e quella ch' era alla parte sinistra chiamò Booz, (cioè in fortezza).	17 He set up the columns to correspond with the nave, one for the right side and the other for the left, and he called the one to the right Jachin and the one to the left Boaz.
