1 וַיַּעַן בִּלְדַּד הַשֻּׁחִי וַיֹּאמַר	1 Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:
2 הַמְשֵׁל וָפַחַד עִמֹּו עֹשֶׂה לֹום בִּמְרֹומָיו	2 Dominion and awesomeness are his who brings about harmony in his heavens.
3 הֲיֵשׁ מִסְפָּר לִגְדוּדָיו וְעַל־מִי לֹא־יָקוּם אֹורֵהוּ	3 Is there any numbering of his troops? Yet to which of them does not his light extend?
4 וּמַה־יִּצְדַּק אֱנֹושׁ עִם־אֵל וּמַה־יִּזְכֶּה יְלוּד אִשָּׁה	4 How can a man be just in God's sight, or how can any woman's child be innocent?
5 הֵן עַד־יָרֵחַ וְלֹא יַאֲהִיל וְכֹוכָבִים לֹא־זַכּוּ בְעֵינָיו	5 Behold, even the moon is not bright and the stars are not clear in his sight.
6 אַף כִּי־אֱנֹושׁ רִמָּה וּבֶן־אָדָם תֹּולֵעָה׃ פ	6 How much less man, who is but a maggot, the son of man, who is only a worm?
