Prima lettera ai Corinzi 5

LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Si sente parlare niente di meno che di un'impudicizia tra voi, e di una impudicizia tale, che non capita neanche tra i pagani, al punto che uno conviva con la moglie di suo padre.	1 It is widely reported that there is sexual immorality among you, immorality of a kind that is not foundeven among gentiles: that one of you is living with his stepmother.
2 E voi siete ricolmi di orgoglio e non vi siete rammaricati, affinché si togliesse da voi chi ha compiuto una tale azione!	2 And you so fil ed with your own self-importance! It would have been better if you had been grievingbitterly, so that the man who has done this thing were turned out of the community.
3 Orbene, io, assente nel corpo ma presente nello spirito, ho già giudicato, come se fossi presente, l'autore di tale misfatto:	3 For my part, however distant I am physical y, I am present in spirit and have already condemned theman who behaved in this way, just as though I were present in person.
4 nel nome del Signore nostro Gesù, convocati insieme voi, il mio spirito e la potenza del Signore nostro Gesù,	4 When you have gathered together in the name of our Lord Jesus, with the presence of my spirit, and inthe power of our Lord Jesus,
5 questo individuo sia abbandonato a Satana, per la rovina della sua carne, affinché lo spirito possa ottenere la salvezza nel giorno del Signore.	5 hand such a man over to Satan, to be destroyed as far as natural life is concerned, so that on the Dayof the Lord his spirit may be saved.
6 Non è bello il vostro vanto. Non sapete che un po' di lievito fermenta tutta la pasta?	6 Your self-satisfaction is il founded. Do you not realise that only a little yeast leavens the whole batch ofdough?
7 Togliete via il lievito vecchio, per essere pasta nuova, poiché siete azzimi. E' stata immolata la nostra Pasqua, Cristo!	7 Throw out the old yeast so that you can be the fresh dough, unleavened as you are. For our Passoverhas been sacrificed, that is, Christ;
8 Celebriamo dunque la festa non tra lievito vecchio, né in lievito di malizia e perversità, ma con azzimi di purezza e di verità.	8 let us keep the feast, then, with none of the old yeast and no leavening of evil and wickedness, but onlythe unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 Vi ho scritto nella lettera di non immischiarvi con gli impudichi.	9 In my letter, I wrote to you that you should have nothing to do with people living immoral lives.
10 Non mi riferivo agli impudichi di questo mondo o ai cupidi, ai rapaci o agli idolatri; altrimenti dovreste uscire dal mondo.	10 I was not including everybody in this present world who is sexually immoral, or everybody who isgreedy, or dishonest or worships false gods -- that would mean you would have to cut yourselves off completelyfrom the world.
11 Ma ora vi scrivo di non immischiarvi con chi si dice fratello, ed è impudico, o cupido, o idolatra, o blasfemo, o ubriacone, o ladro: con questi tali non dovete neanche mettervi a mensa.	11 In fact what I meant was that you were not to have anything to do with anyone going by the name ofbrother who is sexual y immoral, or is greedy, or worships false gods, or is a slanderer or a drunkard ordishonest; never even have a meal with anybody of that kind.
12 Tocca forse a me giudicare quelli di fuori? Non sono quelli di dentro che voi giudicate?	12 It is no concern of mine to judge outsiders. It is for you to judge those who are inside, is it not?
13 Quelli di fuori li giudicherà Dio. Togliete quel perverso di mezzo a voi!	13 But outsiders are for God to judge. You must banish this evil-doer from among you.
