1 Oracle on Moab: Laid waste in a night, Ar of Moab is destroyed; Laid waste in a night, Kir of Moab is destroyed.	1 Слово пророче про Моава: «Так, тієї ночі, як збурено Ар, Моав загинув. Так! Тієї ночі, як зруйновано Кір, Моав загинув.
2 Up goes daughter Dibon to the high places to weep; Over Nebo and over Medeba Moab wails. Every head is shaved, every beard sheared off.	2 Дочка Дівону виходить плакати на узвишшя, над Невом і Медвою Моав ридає. Усі голови оголені, всі бороди обтяті.
3 In the streets they wear sackcloth, lamenting and weeping; On the rooftops and in the squares everyone wails.	3 По вулицях люди у веретах, на дахах та на майданах усі ридають, у сльозах потопають.
4 Heshbon and Elealeh cry out, they are heard as far as Jahaz. At this the loins of Moab tremble, his soul quivers within him;	4 Хешбон й Елале голосять; крик їхній аж до Ягацу чути. Ось чому в Моава дрижать крижі, душа трясеться в ньому.
5 The heart of Moab cries out, his fugitives reach Zoar (Eglath-shelishiyah). The ascent of Luhith they climb weeping; On the way to Horonaim they utter rending cries.	5 Серце в Моава стогне; з нього втікають аж до Цоару. Так! На Лухіт-схил, плачучи, сходять, на Хоронаїм-дорозі зняли крик розпачливий.
6 The waters of Nimrim have become a waste; The grass is withered, new growth is gone, nothing is green.	6 Бо висохли в Німрімі води, трава ізсохла, билля зникло, і зелені немає.
7 So now whatever they have acquired or stored away they carry across the Gorge of the Poplars,	7 Тому вони запаси роблять, добутки свої переносять поза потік Вербовий.
8 For the cry has gone round the land of Moab; As far as Eglaim the wailing, and to Beer-elim, the wail.	8 Крик обійшов усю Моавську землю; до Еглаїму чути його голосіння, до Бер-Еліму чути його плач.
9 The waters of Dimon are filled with blood, but I will bring still more upon Dimon: Lions for those who are fleeing from Moab and for those who remain in the land!	9 Бо вода в Дімоні взялася кров’ю; бо я наведу на Дімон нове лихо, лева на тих, які з Моава повтікали, і на тих, що у краю зостались.»
