1 Ten presente que en los últimos días sobrevendrán momentos diffíciles;	1 And know this: that in the last days perilous times will press near.
2 los hombres serán egoístas, avaros, fanfarrones, soberbios, difamadores, rebeldes a los padres, ingratos, irreligiosos,	2 Men will be lovers of themselves, greedy, self-exalting, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked,
3 desnaturalizados, implacables, calumniadores, disolutos, despiadados, enemigos del bien,	3 without affection, without peace, false accusers, unchaste, cruel, without kindness,
4 traidores, temerarios, infatuados, más amantes de los placeres que de Dios,	4 traitorous, reckless, self-important, loving pleasure more than God,
5 que tendrán la apariencia de piedad, pero desmentirán su eficacia. Guárdate también de ellos.	5 even having the appearance of piety while rejecting its virtue. And so, avoid them.
6 A éstos pertenecen esos que se introducen en las casas y conquistan a mujerzuelas cargadas de pecados y agitadas por toda clase de pasiones,	6 For among these are ones who penetrate houses and lead away, like captives, foolish women burdened with sins, who are led away by means of various desires,
7 que siempre están aprendiendo y no son capaces de llegar al pleno conocimiento de la verdad.	7 always learning, yet never achieving knowledge of the truth.
8 Del mismo modo que Jannés y Jambrés se enfrentaron a Moisés, así también estos se oponen a la verdad; son hombres de mente corrompida, descalificados en la fe.	8 And in the same manner that Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so also will these resist the truth, men corrupted in mind, reprobates from the faith.
9 Pero no progresarán más, porque su insensatez quedará patente a todos, como sucedió con la de aquéllos.	9 But they will not advance beyond a certain point. For the folly of the latter shall be made manifest to all, just as that of the former.
10 Tú, en cambio, me has seguido asiduamente en mis enseñanzas, conducta, planes, fe, paciencia, caridad, constancia,	10 But you have fully comprehended my doctrine, instruction, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,
11 en mis persecuciones y sufrimientos, como los que soporté en Antioquía, en Iconio, en Listra. ¡Qué persecuciones hube de sufrir! Y de todas me libró el Señor.	11 persecutions, afflictions; such things as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra; how I endured persecutions, and how the Lord rescued me from everything.
12 Y todos los que quieran vivir piadosamente en Cristo Jesús, sufrirán persecuciones.	12 And all those who willingly live the piety in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
13 En cambio los malos y embaucadores irán de mal en peor, serán seductores y a la vez seducidos.	13 But evil men and deceivers will advance in evil, erring and sending into error.
14 Tú, en cambio, persevera en lo que aprendiste y en lo que creíste, teniendo presente de quiénes lo aprendiste,	14 Yet truly, you should remain in those things which you have learned and which have been entrusted to you. For you know from whom you have learned them.
15 y que desde niño conoces las Sagradas Letras, que pueden darte la sabiduría que lleva a la salvación mediante la fe en Cristo Jesús.	15 And, from your infancy, you have known the Sacred Scriptures, which are able to instruct you toward salvation, through the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 Toda Escritura es inspirada por Dios y útil para enseñar, para argüir, para corregir y para educar en la justicia;	16 All Scripture, having been divinely inspired, is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in justice,
17 así el hombre de Dios se encuentra perfecto y preparado para toda obra buena.	17 so that the man of God may be perfect, having been trained for every good work.
