Deuteronomio 22

1 Guarda che non veggia il bue e la pecora del tuo fratello ismarrita; e tu passi oltre via, (e non te ne curi); ma fa che tu la rimeni al tuo fratello,	1 Thou shalt not pass by if thou seest thy brother's ox, or his sheep go astray: but thou shalt bring them back to thy brother.
2 ancora che egli non sia tuo parente (o prossimo, o presso di te), o che tu non conoschi; ma (sia di cui vuole,) fae che tu la meni in casa tua, e tanto la terrai teco, insino a tanto che (saprai che) il tuo fratello la vada cercando, e poi sì la piglierae.	2 And if thy brother be not nigh, or thou know him not: thou shalt bring them to thy house, and they shall be with thee until thy brother seek them, and receive them.
3 E così farai dell' asino e del vestimento e d'ogni cosa che troverai del tuo fratello; onde se tu la troverai, non sii negligente di torla, come se fosse di persona estrana.	3 Thou shalt do in like manner with his ass, and with his raiment, and with every thing that is thy brother's, which is lost: if thou find it, neglect it not as pertaining to another.
4 E se tu vederai l'asino o il bue del tuo fratello, il quale sia caduto nella via, non te ne fare beffe; ma con lui insieme sì l'aiuterai levare ritto.	4 If thou see thy brother's ass or his ox to be fallen down in the way, thou shalt not slight it, but shalt lift it up with him.
5 Guarda che la femina non si vesta di vestimenta fatta a modo d'uomo, nè l'uomo si vesta a modo di femina; imperciò ch' è in abbominazione dinanzi da Dio chi fa queste cose.	5 A woman shall not be clothed with man's apparel, neither shall a man use woman's apparel : for he that doeth these things is abominable before God.
6 E se tu, andando per la via, o in terra o in arbore troverai nido d'alcuno uccello, e troverai che la madre covi l'uova, o stia sopra i suoi figliuoli, non la torrai insieme coi figliuoli.	6 If thou find as thou walkest by the way, a bird's nest in a tree, or on the ground, and the dam sitting upon the young or upon the eggs: thou shalt not take her with her young:
7 Ma fa che la lasci andare via, e terrai i figliuoli, acciò che tu abbia bene e vivi lungo tempo.	7 But shalt let her go, keeping the young which thou hast caught: that it may be well with thee, and thou mayst live a long time.
8 E quando tu edificherai (e farai) casa nuova, farai il muro sopra il tetto intorno intorno, acciò che nella tua casa non si sparga sangue, e tu sia colpevole (caggendo colui cioè) di colui che cadesse d'insù il tetto tuo.	8 When thou buildest a new house, thou shalt make a battlement to the roof round about: lest blood be shed in thy house, and thou be guilty, if any one slip, and fall down headlong.
9 Non seminerai la tua vigna con altro seme, acciò che il seme ch' hai seminato, e che nasce della vigna, insieme (non) sia santificato.	9 Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest both the seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of the vineyard, be sanctified together.
10 Non arerai insieme col bue e coll'asino.	10 Thou shalt not plough with an ox and an ass together.
11 Non ti vestirai di vestimento, che sia tessuto insieme di lino e di lana.	11 Thou shalt not wear a garment that is woven of woollen and linen together.
12 Tu farai da piè della (gonella e della) guarnaccia tua, dalle quattro parti, funicelle (e cordelle).	12 Thou shalt make strings in the hem at the four corners of thy cloak, wherewith thou shalt be covered.
13 Se l'uomo menerà moglie, e poi l'avrà in odio,	13 If a man marry a wife, and afterwards hate her,
14 e anderà cercando cagioni per le quali la possa lasciare, e sì le ponga (voce e nome) pessimo, e dirà: poi che io presi questa moglie, e andando a dormire con lei, non la trovai vergine;	14 And seek occasions to put her away, laying to her charge a very ill name, and say: I took this woman to wife, and going in to her, I found her not a virgin:
15 piglierà il padre e la madre sua la sua figliuola, e porteranno secoli segni della virginità alli vecchi (e agli antichi) della cittade, i quali sono nella porta sua;	15 Her father and mother shall take her, and shall bring with them the tokens of her virginity to the ancients of the city that are in the gate:
16 e si dirà loro il padre (della fanciulla): io diedi a costui la figliuola mia per moglie; e perchè egli hae in odio lei,	16 And the father shall say: I gave my daughter unto this man to wife: and because he hateth her,
17 sì le pone nome pessimo, e sì dice: io non ho trovato la tua figliuola vergine; ed ecco, questi sono i segni della virginitade della mia figliuola: e allora istenderanno il vestimento nella presenza) innanzi agli antichi della cittade.	17 He layeth to her charge a very ill name, so as to say: I found not thy daughter a virgin: and behold these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the ancients of the city:
18 Piglieranno gli antichi della cittade il marito di colei; e sì lo batteranno,	18 And the ancients of that city shall take that man, and beat him,
19 e sì lo condanneranno; e sopra ciò daranno cento denari d'ariento (di due soldi) al padre della fanciulla; imperciò che hae diffamato (e imposto) pessimo nome sopra quella vergine d'Israel; e sì l'avrà per moglie, e non la potrà lasciare in tutto il tempo della vita sua.	19 Condemning him besides in a hundred sides of silver, which he shall give to the damsel's father, because he hath defamed by a very ill name a virgin of Israel: and he shall have her to wife, and may not put her away all the days of his life.
20 Ma s'egli è vero quello ch' egli appone, e non s’è trovato nella fanciulla la virginitade,	20 But if what he charged her with be true, and virginity be not found in the damsel:
21 caccerannola fuori delle porte gli uomini della sua cittade, e morrà; imperciò che hae fatta cosa (isconcia e) abbominevole in Israel, cioè facendo fornicazione nella casa del suo padre; e in questo modo leverai questo male del mezzo di te.	21 They shall cast her out of the doors of her father's house, and the men of the city shall stone her to death, and she shall die: because she hath done a wicked thing in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: and thou shalt take away the evil out of the midst of thee.
22 E se l'uomo dormirà colla moglie altrui, l'uno e l'altro sono degni di morire, cioè l'adultero e l'adultera; e (per questo modo) caccerai il male per mezzo di te.	22 If a man lie with another man's wife, they shall both die, that is to say, the adulterer and the adulteress: and thou shalt take away the evil out of Israel.
23 E se l'uomo piglierà per moglie fanciulla vergine, e troveralla alcuna persona nella città, e sì userà con lei,	23 If a man have espoused a damsel that is a virgin, and some one find her in the city, and lie with her,
24 menerai l'uno e l'altra alla porta della cittade, e saranno lapidati colle pietre; la fanciulla, perchè non gridò, conciosia cosa che fosse nella cittade; e l'uomo, perchè (isforzò e) istette colla moglie del suo (fratello e) prossimo; e caccerai questo male del mezzo di te.	24 Thou shalt bring them both out to the gate of that city, and they shall be stoned: the damsel, because she cried not out, being in the city: the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife. And thou shalt take away the evil from the midst of thee.
25 Ma se l'uomo troverà nel campo la fanciulla la quale è giurata (od appresso al marito), e pigliandola userà con lei, l'uomo solo morrà.	25 But if a man find a damsel that is betrothed, in the field, and taking hold of her, lie with her, he alone shall die:
26 Ma la fanciulla non sosterrà male alcuno, però che non è degna di morte; perciò che, come ladro sì si lieva contro al suo fratello e si l'uccide, così questa fanciulla fu isforzata;	26 The damsel shall suffer nothing, neither is she guilty of death : for as a robber riseth against his brother, and taketh away his life, so also did the damsel suffer:
27 (perchè) ella era sola nel campo, e gridoe, e non fue persona che la soccorresse.	27 She was alone in the field: she cried, and there was no man to help her.
28 Se l'uomo troverà una fanciulla vergine, la quale non abbia marito, e pigliandola (uscirà in alcuno luogo occulto e) starà con lei (in alcuna casa), verrà a giudicio.	28 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, who is not espoused, and taking her, lie with her, and the matter come to judgment :
29 Colui che (stette) e dormi colla fanciulla darà al padre della fanciulla cinquanta denari d'argento (di due soldi l'uno), e sì l'avrà ancora per moglie, imperciò che la umiliò (e stette con lei); e non la potrà lasciare in tutti i dì della vita sua.	29 He that lay with her shall give to the father of the maid fifty sides of silver, and shall have her to wife, because he hath humbled her: he may not put her away all the days of his life.
30 Niuno uomo piglierà per moglie la moglie del padre suo, e non rivelerà (ciò che vegga) la natura sua (ed iscoprendola con lei).	30 No man shall take his father's wife, nor remove his covering.
