Ezekiel 20

NEW JERUSALEM	Біблія
1 In the seventh year, on the tenth day of the fifth month, some of the elders of Israel came to consultYahweh and were sitting with me,	1 Сьомого року, п’ятого місяця, десятого дня місяця прийшли до мене мужі зо старших Ізраїля, щоб спитати Господа, та й посідали передо мною.
2 when the word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	2 І надійшло до мене таке слово Господнє:
3 'Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel. Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Have you come toconsult me? As I live, I wil not be consulted by you -- declares the Lord Yahweh."	3 «Сину чоловічий! Промов до старших Ізраїля та й скажи їм: Так говорить Господь Бог: Ви прийшли питати мене? Клянусь, як от живу я: Не дозволю вам мене питати! — слово Господа Бога.
4 'Are you ready to judge them? Are you ready to judge them, son of man? Confront them with theloathsome practices of their ancestors.	4 Хочеш їх судити? Хочеш їх судити, сину чоловічий? Постав на очі їм гидоти їх батьків.
5 Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: On the day when I chose Israel, when I pledged my word to theHouse of Jacob, I made myself known to them in Egypt; I pledged my word to them and said: I am Yahweh yourGod.	5 Скажи їм: Так говорить Господь Бог: Того часу, як вибрав я Ізраїля, підняв я руку мою перед потомками дому Якова й об’явив їм себе в Єгипетській землі, підняв мою руку перед ними і сказав їм: Я — Господь, Бог ваш!
6 That day I pledged them my word that I would bring them out of Egypt to a country which I hadreconnoitred for them, a country flowing with milk and honey, and the loveliest of them al .	6 Тоді підняв я мою руку, клянучись їм, що виведу їх з Єгипетської землі в землю, яку я для них призначив, землю, що тече молоком та медом, оздобу над усіма землями.
7 And I said to them: Each of you must reject the horrors which attract you; do not pol ute yourselveswith the foul idols of Egypt; I am Yahweh your God.	7 Я сказав їм: Відкиньте кожен гидоти з очей ваших і не поганьтесь єгипетськими бовванами: я — Господь, Бог ваш!
8 But they rebel ed against me and would not listen to me. Not one of them rejected the horrors whichattracted them; they did not give up the foul idols of Egypt. I then resolved to vent my fury on them, to sate myanger on them in Egypt.	8 Та вони збунтувались проти мене й не хотіли слухати мене; ніхто не відкинув гидот з очей своїх; вони не відцурались бовванів єгипетських. І я подумав: Виллю на них обурення моє, зжену на них мій гнів посеред Єгипетської землі.
9 But respect for my own name kept me from letting it be profaned in the eyes of the nations amongwhom they were living, and before whom I had made myself known to them and promised to bring them out ofEgypt.	9 Та я вчинив інакше з уваги на моє ім’я, щоб воно не сквернилось перед очима народів, між якими вони перебували, перед очима яких я об’явився, щоб вивести їх з Єгипетської землі.
10 So I brought them out of Egypt and led them into the desert.	10 І вивів я їх з Єгипетської землі й привів у пустиню.
11 I gave them my laws and taught them my judgements, in whose observance people find life.	11 І дав їм заповіді мої та об’явив їм мої установи, щоб людина, додержуючи їх, жила ними.
12 And I also gave them my Sabbaths as a sign between me and them, so that they might know that I,Yahweh, am the one who sanctifies them.	12 Дав я їм також і мої суботи, щоб були знаком між мною та ними, та щоб вони знали, що то я — Господь — освячую їх.
13 The House of Israel, however, rebel ed against me in the desert; they refused to keep my laws, theyscorned my judgements, in whose observance people find life, and they grossly profaned my Sabbaths. I thenresolved to vent my fury on them in the desert and destroy them.	13 Та дім Ізраїля збунтувався проти мене в пустині. В заповідях моїх вони не ходили і відкинули мої установи, які мусить додержувати людина, щоб ними жити; та й суботи мої вони тяжко осквернили. Я вже намірився був вилити на них моє обурення в пустині, щоб вигубити їх.
14 But respect for my own name kept me from letting it be profaned in the eyes of the nations, beforewhom I had brought them out.	14 Та проте я вчинив інакше з уваги на моє ім’я, щоб воно не сквернилось перед очима народів, що в них на очу я вивів їх.
15 Even so, I pledged them my word in the desert that I would not lead them to the country which I hadgiven them, a country flowing with milk and honey, and the loveliest of them al ,	15 Я підняв мою руку проти них у пустині й заприсягся, що не приведу їх у землю, яку їм призначив, — у землю, що тече молоком та медом, оздобу над усіма землями;
16 since they had scorned my judgements, had refused to keep my laws and had profaned mySabbaths, their hearts being attached to foul idols.	16 за те, що вони відкинули мої установи, у заповідях моїх не ходили і суботи мої осквернили, бо серце їхнє було прив’язане до бовванів.
17 In spite of this, I took pity on them; I refrained from destroying them and did not make an end of themin the desert.	17 Та моє око зглянулось на них, щоб їх не губити, і я не винищив їх дощенту в пустині.
18 "I said to their children in the desert: Do not follow the laws of your ancestors, do not practise theirjudgements, do not defile yourselves with their foul idols.	18 Я говорив до їхніх синів у пустині: Слідом ваших батьків не ходіте, установ їх не заховуйте й бовванами їхніми не поганьтесь.
19 I am Yahweh your God. Keep my laws, respect my judgements and practise them.	19 Я — Господь, Бог ваш: у моїх заповідях ходіте, мої установи зберігайте та виконуйте.
20 Keep my Sabbaths holy; let them be a sign between me and you, so that people may know that I amYahweh your God.	20 Суботи мої держіть свято, щоб вони були знаком між мною та вами, щоб було знано, що я — Господь, Бог ваш.
21 Their children, however, rebel ed against me; they refused to keep my laws, they did not respect orpractise my judgements, which must be practised by al who want to live; they profaned my Sabbaths. I thenresolved to vent my fury on them, to sate my anger on them in the desert.	21 Та бо й сини збунтувались проти мене: в заповідях моїх не ходили, установ моїх, що їх мусить виконувати людина, щоб могла жити ними, — не виконували. Вони суботи мої оскверняли. От я й намірився вилити на них моє обурення й зігнати гнів мій на них у пустині.
22 But I restrained my hand; respect for my own name kept me from letting it be profaned in the eyes ofthe nations, before whom I had brought them out.	22 Але я стримав мою руку й чинив з уваги на моє ім’я, щоб воно не сквернилося перед очима народів що на їх очу я їх вивів.
23 Once again, however, I pledged them my word that I would scatter them throughout the nations anddisperse them in foreign countries,	23 І знову зняв я мою руку проти них у пустині і заприсягся, що порозкидаю їх між народами й порозвіваю їх по чужих землях,
24 because they had not fol owed my judgements but had rejected my laws and profaned my Sabbaths,their eyes being fastened on the foul idols of their ancestors.	24 за те, що вони моїх установ не виконували й мої заповіді відкинули, і мої суботи оскверняли та звертали очі на бовванів своїх батьків.
25 And for this reason I gave them laws that were not good and judgements by which they could neverlive;	25 Отак я законам лишив їх напризволяще недобрим та приписам, якими вони не могли жити.
26 and I pol uted them with their own offerings, making them sacrifice every first-born son in order to filthem with revulsion, so that they would know that I am Yahweh."	26 Я дозволив їм оскверняти себе приносами-дарами, коли вони проводили через вогонь кожного первородного, щоб їх покарати, щоб знали, що я — Господь.
27 'For this reason, son of man, speak to the House of Israel. Say to them, "The Lord Yahweh says this:Here is another way by which your ancestors outraged me by their infidelity.	27 Тому, сину чоловічий, говори домові Ізраїля і скажи їм: Так говорить Господь Бог: От іще чим образили мене батьки ваші, поводившися зо мною віроломно:
28 Once I had brought them into the country which I had pledged my word to give them, they then sawal sorts of high hil s, al kinds of leafy trees, and there they performed their sacrifices and made offerings thatprovoked my anger; there they set out their pleasing smel and poured their libations.	28 як я привів їх у землю, що під урочистою присягою обіцяв їм дати, то вони, де тільки бачили високий горб і дерево гіллясте, приносили там свої жертви, і клали там свої дражливі приноси, складали там свої пахощі й возливали там свої ливні жертви.
29 I then said to them: What is this high place where you go? And they gave, and stil give it, the nameof Bamah."	29 І я сказав їм: Що то за висота, куди ви ходите? І ця назва „Висота“ була дана їй по цей день.
30 'So, say to the House of Israel, "The Lord Yahweh says this: If you are pol uting yourselves as yourancestors did by fornicating with their horrors-	30 Тому скажи домові Ізраїля: Так каже Господь Бог: Чи ж ви не оскверняєте себе, як батьки ваші, і не блудуєте за їхніми гидотами,
31 for by offering your gifts and by burning your children as sacrifices, you have been pol utingyourselves with al your foul idols to this very day -- shal I let myself be consulted by you, House of Israel? As Ilive -- declares Lord Yahweh -- I shal not let myself be consulted by you.	31 приносячи ваші дари, проводячи через вогонь ваших дітей, — чи не оскверняєте себе вашими бовванами по цей день? І я б то дозволив вам мене питатися, доме Ізраїля? Клянусь, як от живу я, — слово Господа Бога, — я не дозволю вам мене питатися!
32 And what you sometimes imagine wil never be so, when you say: We shal be like the peoples, thetribes of foreign lands, worshipping wood and stone.	32 А те, що в вас на думці, напевно ніколи не станеться. Ви бо кажете: Ми хочемо бути, як народи, як чужоземні племена, служити дереву та камінню.
33 As I live I swear it -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I am the one who will reign over you, with a stronghand and outstretched arm, once my fury is sated.	33 Клянусь, як от живу я, — слово Господа Бога, — я царюватиму над вами потужною рукою, простягнутим рам’ям, як виллю гнів мій.
34 With a strong hand and outstretched arm, once my fury is sated, I shall bring you back from thepeoples and gather you again from the countries throughout which you have been scattered.	34 Я виведу вас із-між народів і позбираю вас із земель, де ви розсіяні, потужною рукою, простягнутою правицею, як виллю гнів мій.
35 I shal lead you into the desert of the nations and there I shal judge you face to face.	35 Я приведу вас у пустиню народів, і судитимусь там з вами віч-на-віч.
36 As I judged your ancestors in the desert of Egypt, so wil I judge you -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	36 Як я судився у єгипетській пустині з вашими батьками, так судитимуся з вами, — слово Господа Бога.
37 I shal make you pass under the crook, bring you to respect the covenant	37 Я проведу вас під берло і приведу вас у малім числі.
38 and rid you of the rebels who have revolted against me; I shall bring them out of the country wherethey are staying, but they will not enter the country of Israel, and you wil know that I am Yahweh.	38 Я вилучу з-між вас бунтарів та тих, що відступили від мене. Я виведу їх із землі, де вони перебували чужинцями, але в землю Ізраїля вони не ввійдуть, і ви взнаєте, що я — Господь.
39 House of Israel, Lord Yahweh says this: Go on, all of you, worship your foul idols, but later we shal see if you don't listen to me! Then you wil stop profaning my holy name with your offerings and your foul idols.	39 Ви ж, доме Ізраїля, — так говорить Господь Бог: Нехай кожен із вас іде служити своїм бовванам, але потім ви будете мені слухняні й не будете більше сквернити моє святе ім’я вашими дарами та вашими бовванами.
40 For on my holy mountain, on the high mountain of Israel -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- is where thewhole House of Israel, everyone in the country, wil worship me. There I shal accept and there expect yourpresents, your choicest offering and al your consecrated gifts.	40 Бо на святій горі моїй, на високій горі ізраїльській, — слово Господа Бога, — там служитиме мені ввесь дім Ізраїля, увесь, скільки його на землі. Там я буду ласкаво приймати й там буду жадати ваших приношень, найліпших ваших дарів, що присвятите.
41 I shal welcome you like a pleasing smell when I bring you back from the peoples and gather youfrom the countries throughout which you have been scattered, and through you I shal display my holiness for althe nations to see;	41 Неначе любі пахощі, я прийму вас ласкаво, як повиводжу вас із-поміж народів і позбираю вас із чужих земель, де ви розсіялись, і появлю у вас мою святість перед очима народів.
42 and you wil know that I am Yahweh, when I bring you back to the soil of Israel, to the country which Ipledged my word to give to your ancestors.	42 І взнаєте, що я — Господь, як я приведу вас в Ізраїльську землю, в землю, яку я, піднявши руку, клявся дати батькам вашим.
43 There you wil remember your past behaviour and al the actions by which you have defiledyourselves, and you wil loathe yourselves for al the wrongs which you have committed.	43 Там ви згадаєте вашу поведінку й усі ваші вчинки, якими ви себе сквернили, і гидуватимете самі собою з-за злочинів ваших, що ви творили.
44 And you wil know that I am Yahweh, when I treat you as respect for my own name requires, and notas your wicked behaviour and corrupt actions deserve, House of Israel -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	44 Тоді ви зрозумієте, що я — Господь, як я чинитиму так з вами з уваги на моє святе ім’я, а не згідно з вашою лихою поведінкою та з вашими мерзенними вчинками, доме Ізраїля», — слово Господа Бога.
