Exodus 33

1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I sware unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it:	1 E favello lo Signore a Moisè, dicendo: va, discendi di questo luogo, tu e il popolo tuo, il quale hai menato della terra d'Egitto [nella terra] ch' io giurai ad Abraam, Isaac e lacob, dicendo: al seme tuo darò quella;
2 And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:	2 e manderò l'angelo dinanzi a te, acciò che cacci il Cananeo e Amorreo Et edeo e Ferezeo e Iebuseo;
3 Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way.	3 ed entrerai nella terra abbondante di latte e di miele. Io non verrò teco, perciò che questo popolo è di dura testa, acciò che forse io non di sparga te (percotendo) nella via.
4 And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.	4 E udendo lo popolo queste parole pessime, pianse; e niuno, secondo la consuetudine sua, si vestì colli loro ornamenti.
5 For the LORD had said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.	5 E disse lo Signore a Moisè: favella alli figliuoli d'Israel: tu sei popolo di dura testa; se una volta verrò in mezzo di te, guasterò te: ora deponi l'ornamento tuo, acciò ch' io sappi quello ch' io farò a te.
6 And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount Horeb.	6 Deposeno adunque li figliuoli d'Israel gli ornamenti loro dal monte di Oreb.
7 And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought the LORD went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.	7 E Moisè, togliendo lo tabernacolo suo, isteselo fuori delli alloggiamenti da lungi; e chiamò lo nome suo, LO TABERNACOLO DEL PATTO. E tutto il popolo, che avea alcuna questione, veneano al tabernacolo del patto, fuori delli alloggiamenti.
8 And it came to pass, when Moses went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people rose up, and stood every man at his tent door, and looked after Moses, until he was gone into the tabernacle.	8 E quando venia Moisè al tabernacolo, levavasi lo popolo; e stava ciascheduno nell'uscio del paviglione suo, e guardavano di driedo a Moisè, tanto che egli entrasse dentro dal tentorio.
9 And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.	9 Ed entrato lui nel tabernacolo del patto, sì discendeva una colonna di nuvola, e stava all'uscio del tabernacolo, e favellava con Moise,
10 And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door.	10 vedendo tutti che la colonna stava all'uscio del tabernacolo; e loro stavano ed adoravano per le porte del tabernacolo loro.
11 And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.	11 E favellava lo Signore a Moisè a faccia a faccia, siccome favellare suole l'uomo all'amico suo. E quando elli ritornava alli alloggiamenti, lo ministro suo Iosuè, figliuolo di Nun, fanciullo, non si partiva dal tabernacolo.
12 And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.	12 Disse adunque Moisè al Signore: tu mi comandi ch' io meni questo popolo, e non mi di cui manderai meco, massimamente che tu mi hai detto: io conosco te per nome, e hai trovato grazia innanzi a me.
13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.	13 Se io adunque hoe trovato grazia nel cospetto tuo, mostrami la faccia tua, sì ch' io ti co nosca e trovi grazia dinanzi agli occhi tuoi; ragguarda lo popolo tuo, questa gente.
14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.	14 E disse lo Signore: la faccia mia andrà di nanzi a te, e riposo darò a te.
15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.	15 E disse Moisè: se tu non ci anderai innanzi, non ci spartire di questo luogo.
16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.	16 Nel quale in verità potemo sapere, io e il popolo tuo, d'avere trovato grazia nel cospetto tuo, se non verrai con noi, acciò che noi siamo glorificati da tutti i popoli che abitan sopra la terra?
17 And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.	17 Ma disse lo Signore a Moisè: e questa parola che tu hai detto farò; in verità tu hai trovato grazia innanzi a me, e te medesimo hoe conosciuto per nome.
18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.	18 Il quale disse: mostrami la gloria tua.
19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.	19 Rispose (lo Signore): io mostrerà ogni bene a te, e sarò chiamato nel nome del Signore dinanzi a te; e avrò misericordia di cui io vorrò, e beni gno sarò in cui mi piacerà.
20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.	20 E anche disse: tu non potresti vedere la faccia mia (in verità); e non mi vederà uomo, e viverà.
21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:	21 E anco disse: ecco il luogo è appresso me; starai sopra la pietra.
22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:	22 E quando passerà la mia gloria, io ti porrò nel forame della pietra, e coprirotti nella mia mano dritta, tanto ch' io passi.
23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.	23 E torrò la mano mia, e vederai le mie parti di dietro; ma faccia mia vedere non potrai.
