Seconda Epistola di Santo Paulo alli Corinti 11

1 Dio volesse che un poco sofferiste la mia semplicità! pregovi che alquanto mi sopportiate.	1 I wish that you would endure a small amount of my foolishness, so as to bear with me.
2 Imperò che io vi amo di carità di Dio; ed hovvi sposata, una vergine casta, a uno uomo, cioè Cristo.	2 For I am jealous toward you, with the jealousy of God. And I have espoused you to one husband, offering you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3 Ma ho paura, che secondo che il serpente ingannò Eva colle sue fraudi, così non si corrompano li vostri sensi, e (temo che) non si rimovano. dalla purità la quale è in Iesù Cristo.	3 But I am afraid lest, as the serpent led astray Eve by his cleverness, so your minds might be corrupted and might fall away from the simplicity which is in Christ.
4 Che se verrà uno a predicarvi uno altro. Cristo, il quale noi non avemo predicato; ovver che vi prometta altro spirito, che voi non avete ricevuto; ovver che vi predichi altro evangelio, che noi non abbiamo predicato; (e voi attenderete a quelle tali cose) degnamente averete a patire male.	4 For if anyone arrives preaching another Christ, one whom we have not preached; or if you receive another Spirit, one whom you have not received; or another Gospel, one which you have not been given: you might permit him to guide you.
5 Chè io mi penso di non avere fatto meno a voi, che voi poteste avere ricevuto da' maggiori apostoli.	5 For I consider that I have done nothing less than the great Apostles.
6 Chè se io non son maestro in parole, sì son savio di scienza; in tutte le cose sono palesato a voi.	6 For although I may be unskilled in speech, yet I am not so in knowledge. But, in all things, we have been made manifest to you.
7 Or feci io peccato umiliandomi a voi, perchè voi foste esaltati? che in dono e senza priego predicai a voi la parola di Dio?	7 Or did I commit a sin by humbling myself so that you would be exalted? For I preached the Gospel of God to you freely.
8 Ispogliai l'altre Chiese, ricevendo il stipendio nel vostro servizio.	8 I have taken from other churches, receiving a stipend from them to the benefit of your ministry.
9 Ed essendo io appo voi, avendo povertà delle cose, a niuno feci gravezza del suo; chè certo quello che mi mancava, sì mi supplirono li fratelli che vennero di Macedonia; e in tutte le cose vo riguardato di non gravarvi, e così ancora voglio.	9 And when I was with you and in need, I was burdensome to no one. For the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied whatever was lacking to me. And in all things, I have kept myself, and I will keep myself, from being burdensome to you.
10 Imperò che la verità di Cristo è in me; e questa allegrezza non si romperà per me nelle contrade d'Acaia.	10 The truth of Christ is in me, and so this glorying shall not be broken away from me in the regions of Achaia.
11 E perchè? non v' amiamo? sallo Dio.	11 Why so? Is it because I do not love you? God knows I do.
12 Chè quello (che) io faccio e farò, per tagliare l'occasione di coloro li quali a voi dànno la cagione, [acciò che] in quel che si vantano siano trovati come noi.	12 But what I am doing, I will continue to do, so that I may take away an opportunity from those who desire an opportunity by which they may glory, so as to be considered to be like us.
13 Certo quelli tali son falsi apostoli; e operatori di fraude, transfiguransi in apostoli di Cristo.	13 For false apostles, such as these deceitful workers, are presenting themselves as if they were Apostles of Christ.
14 E non è da meravigliare; chè Satana transfigurasi in angelo di luce.	14 And no wonder, for even Satan presents himself as if he were an Angel of light.
15 Adunque non è grande fatto, se li suoi servi transifiguranosi secondo che servi di giustizia; la fine delli quali sarà secondo loro opere.	15 Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers present themselves as if they were ministers of justice, for their end shall be according to their works.
16 Ancora dico; chè niuno non mi tenga meno che savio, perchè io un poco possa priegare e gloriare:	16 I say again. And let no one consider me to be foolish. Or, at least, accept me as if I were foolish, so that I also may glory a small amount.
17 quel che io parlo, non parlo come Signore, ma quasi secondo ch' è meno che saviezza in questa sostanza di gloria (e di vantamento).	17 What I am saying is not said according to God, but as if in foolishness, in this matter of glorying.
18 Chè molti si gloriano (vantansi) secondo la carne; e io voglio quel medesimo.	18 Since so many glory according to the flesh, I will glory also.
19 Adunque, con ciò sia che voi siate savii, si sofferite coloro volentieri, che non son savii.	19 For you freely accept the foolish, though you yourselves claim to be wise.
20 Chè voi sostenete, se alcuno vi rimena (come servi) in servitù; sofferite, se alcuno vi divora, se alcuno vi prende, se alcuno si leva contra voi, e se alcuno vi percote nella faccia.	20 For you permit it when someone guides you into servitude, even if he devours you, even if he takes from you, even if he is extolled, even if he strikes you repeatedly on the face.
21 E questo dico per viltà, come se noi fussimo fragili in questo fatto. Ma (vogliovi favellare secondo che non savio, e dicovi che) in qualunque cosa altri s' ardisce di fare (e di sofferire per Dio), e io non meno (son di quelli falsi apostoli che vogliono ingannare).	21 I speak according to disgrace, as if we had been weak in this regard. In this matter, (I speak in foolishness) if anyone dares, I dare also.
22 Ebrei sono? e io son ebreo. Son egli di schiatta d' Israel? e io. Son di seme d'Abraam? e io.	22 They are Hebrews; so am I. They are Israelites; so am I. They are the offspring of Abraham; so am I.
23 E' son servi di Dio (e io), e dirovvi secondo che non savio, che più son io; chè io son in molte più fatiche, e in pregione spesse volte, in piaghe oltra modo, in morti spesse volte.	23 They are the ministers of Christ (I speak as if I were less wise); more so am I: with many more labors, with numerous imprisonments, with wounds beyond measure, with frequent mortifications.
24 Da giudei ricevetti cinque volte quaranta, una meno, (scuriate).	24 On five occasions, I received forty stripes, less one, from the Jews.
25 E tre volte son battuto con le verghe, e una volta fui lapidato; tre volte son rotto in mare (e rimaso in sull' acqua), e una notte e uno di stetti nel profondo del mare.	25 Three times, I was beaten with rods. One time, I was stoned. Three times, I was shipwrecked. For a night and a day, I was in the depths of the sea.
26 In viaggi spesse volte son stato in pericoli di fiumi, in pericoli di ladroni, in pericoli di parenti, in pericoli di genti, in pericoli di città, in pericoli di luoghi salvatichi, in pericoli di mare, in pericoli di falsi fratelli.	26 I have made frequent journeys, through dangerous waters, in danger of robbers, in danger from my own nation, in danger from the Gentiles, in danger in the city, in danger in the wilderness, in danger in the sea, in danger from false brothers,
27 Son stato in fatiche, in angosce, in molte vigilie (e in veggiamenti), in fame, in sete e in molti digiuni, in freddo e in nudità;	27 with hardships and difficulties, with much vigilance, in hunger and thirst, with frequent fasts, in cold and nakedness,
28 senza quelle cose che son di fuori, la mia costanza, il perseveramento quotidiano e la sollecitudine di tutte le Chiese.	28 and, in addition to these things, which are external: there is my daily earnestness and solicitude for all the churches.
29 E quale è quello che inferma, e io non infermo? E qual è scandalizzato, che io non arda (di tribulazione)?	29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is scandalized, and I am not being burned?
30 Se bisogno è di lodare, in quelle cose mi voglio lodare le quali sono delle mie infermità.	30 If it is necessary to glory, I will glory of the things that concern my weaknesses.
31 Iddio padre del Signore nostro Iesù Cristo, il quale è benedetto nelli secoli, sa bene che io non mento.	31 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.
32 Il proposto di Damasco della gente del re Areta guardava la città di Damasco per pigliarmi.	32 At Damascus, the governor of the nation under Aretas the king, watched over the city of the Damascenes, so as to apprehend me.
33 E io fui per una fenestra del muro calato in una sporta (da' fratelli); e così campai delle sue mani.	33 And, through a window, I was let down along the wall in a basket; and so I escaped his hands.
