Deuteronomio 32

1 Udite, cieli, quello ch' io parlo; oda la terra le parole della bocca mia.	1 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
2 La dottrina mia cresca come la piova; il mio parlare venga ed esca, come la rugiada e come la brinata sopra l'erba, e come l'acqua stillata sopra la gramigna.	2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
3 Imperciò ch' io chiamerà il nome di Dio; date magnificenza (e grandezza) a Dio nostro Signore.	3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
4 (Imperciò che) le sue opere sono perfette, e le sue vie sono i giudicii suoi; egli è Iddio fedele e senza alcuna iniquità, giusto e diritto.	4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
5 E i suoi figliuoli peccarono in lui in sozzura (e in peccato); generazione rea e perversa,	5 They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.
6 la quale poco rendi a Iddio Signore; popolo istolto e senza senno, di’: non è egli tuo padre, il quale ti possiede (e mantiene), e feceti e creotti?	6 Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?
7 Ricordati delli di antichi, e pensa per ciascuna generazione; e domandane il padre tuo, ed egli sì lo ti dirà; e li tuoi maggiori il ti diranno.	7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.
8 Quando Iddio tuo altissimo dividea le genti; quando separava se dividea i figliuoli di Adamo, egli (puose e) ordinò i termini de' popoli, secondo il numero de' figliuoli d'Israel.	8 When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.
9 Ma la parte di Dio sì è il popolo suo; e Iacob il ligamento della sua eredità.	9 For the LORD's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
10 Egli (cioè Iddio) il trovoe (cioè) nella terra deserta, in luogo pauroso e oscuro, e nel profondo della solitudine; egli il menù di quà e di là; e sì gl' insegnò (e ammaestrò), e sì lo guardò come la luce del suo occhio.	10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
11 E siccome l'aquila, la quale provoca a vo lare i suoi figliuoli e vola sopra i suoi figliuoli, così egli sì prese le sue ali, e sì lo recò a sè, e sì lo portò in su le sue spalle.	11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:
12 Solo Iddio fu lo suo guidatore (e menatore), e non era con lui Iddio estrano (ad altrui).	12 So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.
13 Egli il puose sopra la terra grandissima, acciò che mangiasse i frutti de' campi, acciò che succhiasse (e traesse) il miele della pietra, e l'olio del sasso durissimo,	13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;
14 e il butiro dell' armento, il latte (cioè il siro) delle pecore (e degli armenti) colla grassezza degli agnelli de' figliuoli di Basan, e ' capretti colla midolla del grano; e che bevessono il sangue dell' uva pu rissimo.	14 Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.
15 Il mio diletto si è ingrassato, e ricalcitro; egli è ripieno e dilatato; egli hae abbandonato Iddio suo che il fece, ed èssi partito da Dio il quale è sua salute.	15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
16 Egli l'hanno provocato, adorando agli dii altrui; e sì l'hanno concitato colle abbominazioni loro.	16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.
17 Egli sacrificarono alli demonii, e non a Dio; alli dii che non conoscevano, dii nuovi (e di nuovo fatti), li quali i loro padri non aveano adorati.	17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
18 Iddio, che ti generò, tu sì abbandonasti; e se'ti dimenticato di Dio, (tuo signore e) tuo creatore.	18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.
19 E (Iddio) sì vide, e si concitò ad ira; però che lo provocarono i suoi figliuoli e le sue figliuole.	19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.
20 E (Iddio) disse: io nasconderò la faccia mia da loro, e considererò tutte le sue cose nuove; imperciò che la sì è generazione perversa, e figliuoli infedeli.	20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.
21 Egli sì mi provocarono in quella cosa che non era Dio, e sì mi concitarono nelle loro abbomi nazioni; e io provocarò loro in quella cosa che non è [popolo), e in gente stolta cì gli concitard.	21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
22 Il fuoco è acceso nel furore mio, e arderae insino alla fine dello inferno; e sì devorerà la terra col frutto che fa, e i fondamenti de' monti sì arderanno.	22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
23 Io raunerò molti mali sopra loro, e le mie saette (manderò e) compierò in loro.	23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.
24 Loro morranno di fame, e gli uccelli sì gli divoreranno di morso amarissimo; io manderò loro adosso denti di bestie crudeli, e degli altri che vanno sopra la terra, e anco li serpenti.	24 They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.
25 Di fuori gli guasterà (e taglierà) il coltello, e dentro sarà la grave paura; e questo sarà al gio vane e alla vergine, e a quelli che poppa insieme coll'uomo (antico e) vecchio.	25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.
26 E dissi: ove sono loro? Io farò (partire e) cessare dagli uomini la loro (ricordanza e la loro) memoria.	26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:
27 Ma solamente ho lasciato per l'ira de' loro nemici, acciò che non insuperbiscano, e dicesseno: questo hae fatto la nostra mano potente e alta, e non l'ha fatte Iddio queste cose.	27 Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.
28 Gente sanza consiglio e sanza prudenza (e senza senno).	28 For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.
29 Dio volesse, che loro sapessono e intendes sono e provedessono dell' ultime cose le quali debbono venire.	29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
30 Come uno di loro perseguitarà mille degli altri, e due ne caccerebbono dieci mila (cioè de' loro nemici)? Questo non è per altro, se non che Iddio loro gli vendè, e il Signore sì gli (condusse e) atterrò.	30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?
31 Imperciò che il nostro Iddio non è come lo Dio loro; e i nostri nemici sono giudici.	31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.
32 La loro vigna sì è della vigna di Sodoma e de' borghi di Gomorra; la loro uva si è come di fiele, e l'acino amarissimo.	32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:
33 Il loro vino sì è fiele (di serpenti o) di dragoni, e veneno d'aspidi (sordi) insanabile.	33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.
34 (Imperciò che) queste cose non sono riposte appo di me, e segnate (e sigillate) nelli miei tesori?	34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures?
35 Ma sì è mia (di fare) la vendetta, e io la (manderò e) renderò loro nel tempo (loro), acciò che il loro piede venga meno. Ecco che s'approssima il dì della loro perdizione (e morte), e i tempi s'affretteranno di venire.	35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.
36 Iddio sì giudicherà il suo popolo, e nelli suoi servi sì avrà misericordia; egli vederà che la mano si è infermata, e rinchiusi si sono venuti meno, e quelli i quali sono rimasi si sono consumati.	36 For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.
37 E sì dirà: dove sono gli dii loro, nei quali loro aveano speranza,	37 And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,
38 Della cui ostia e sacrificii loro mangiavano il grasso e beveano il vino de' sacrificii? lievinsi, e sì vi aiutino, e sì vi defendano nella vostra necessità.	38 Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.
39 Vedete (e sappiate) ch' io sono Iddio, e non è altro Iddio fuori di me; io ucciderò, e io darò vita; e non è chi possa campare delle mie mani; e sì percuoterò e sanerò.	39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
40 E leverò al cielo la mia mano, e dirò: io vivo in eterno.	40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.
41 Io sì aguzzerò come il folgore il mio coltello, e le mie mani piglieranno il giudicio; io farò vendetta de' miei nemici, e coloro che mi hanno avuto in odio, io li meriterò.	41 If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.
42 Io (empierò e) inebrierò le mie saette del sangue loro, e il mio coltello (taglierà e) divorerà le carni, dello sangue di coloro che saranno morti, e del capo scoperto de' nemici i quali sono menati in pregione.	42 I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.
43 Lodate (ed esaltate), genti, il popolo suo (cioè di Dio); imperciò che farà vendetta del sangue de' suoi servi, e vendetta farà sopra i loro nemici, e averà pietà (e misericordia) alla terra del popolo suo.	43 Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.
44 E venne Moisè, e disse tutte le parole di questo canto nelle orecchie di tutto il popolo, egli e Iosuè figliuolo di Nun.	44 And Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.
45 E sì compiette tutti quanti questi sermoni, parlando a tutto lo universo popolo d'Israel.	45 And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel:
46 E disse loro: ponete (bene) i vostri cuori in tutte quante le parole ch' io vi (dico e) favello oggi, acciò che voi comandiate a' vostri figliuoli, che le osservino (e guardino bene), e facciano e adempiano tutte queste cose che sono scritte (nel volume) di questa legge.	46 And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.
47 Imperciò che non vi sono comandate in darno (e invano), ma acciò che tutti vivessono sotto questa legge; le quali cose (che vi sono dentro) fa cendo, perseveriate lungo tempo nella terra la quale, passato il (fiume) Giordano, entrerete a possedere.	47 For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
48 E favellò Iddio Signore a Moisè in quel dì medesimo, e sì gli disse:	48 And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying,
49 Sali in su questo monte Abarim, cioè nei passi, del monte di Nebon, il quale si è nella terra di Moab di contro (e dirimpetto) a Gerico; e (ragguarda e) vedi la terra di Canaan, la quale io ho data ai figliuoli d'Israel, che la (piglino e) tengano; e poi sì ti muori in sul monte.	49 Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession:
50 Il quale salendo, sì ti congiugnerai coi tuoi popoli; come è morto Aaron tuo fratello nel monte di Or; e sì (si riposoe, e) fu posto colli popoli suoi.	50 And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:
51 Imperciò che voi trapassaste la mia volontà, nel mezzo de' figliuoli d'Israel, all'acque della contraddizione in Cades, nel deserto dì Sin; e non mi santificaste intra i figliuoli d'Israel (cioè non credeste questo ch' io vi dissi, anzi dubitaste, conciosia cosa ch' io sia santo ed intero).	51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.
52 E imperciò tu vederai la terra, e non v'entrerai dentro; la quale terra io darò ai figliuoli d'Israel.	52 Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.
