Deuteronomio 30

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Adunque poi che saranno venuti sopra di te tutti quanti questi sermoni (e queste sentenze), la benedizione ovver la maledizione la quale io propongo (e dico) dinanzi a te; e tornando a penitenza (e pentendoti nel cuore) tra tutte queste genti (alle quali e) nelle quali Iddio t'avrà (cacciato e) sparto;	1 'And when all these words have come true for you -- the blessing and the curse, which I have offeredyou -- if you meditate on them in your heart wherever among the nations Yahweh your God has driven you,
2 e vorrai tornare a lui, e avrai obbedito al suo comandamento, siccome io comando a te oggi, coi tuoi figliuoli insieme, con tutto il cuore tuo e con tutta l'anima tua;	2 if you return to Yahweh your God, if with al your heart and with all your soul you obey his voice, youand your children, in everything that I am laying down for you today,
3 Iddio tuo Signore ti rimenerae (e trarratti) di (pregione e) servitudine, e sì avrà misericordia di te, e poi un'altra volta sì ti congregherà di tutti quanti i popoli tra i quali tu eri (cacciato e) isparto.	3 then Yahweh your God wil bring back your captives, he will have pity on you and gather you backfrom al the peoples among whom Yahweh your God has scattered you.
4 E se insino colà dove i cieli si congiungono tu sarai (cacciato e) isparto, Iddio tuo Signore te ne ritrarrà, (e farattene uscire).	4 Should you have been banished to the very sky's end, Yahweh your God will gather you again evenfrom there, wil come there to reclaim you
5 E sì ti piglierà e menerà nella terra, la quale possedettono (e abitarono) i tuoi padri; e sì la piglierai e possederai; e benedicendoti, ti farà essere di maggiore numero, che non furono i tuoi padri.	5 and bring you back to the country which belonged to your ancestors, so that you may possess it inyour turn, and be made prosperous there and more numerous than your ancestors.
6 E Iddio tuo Signore sì ti taglierà intorno intorno al tuo cuore e al tuo seme, acciò che tu ami il tuo Signore Iddio con tutto il tuo cuore e con tutta l'anima tua, acciò che tu possi vivere.	6 'Yahweh your God wil circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, so that you wil loveYahweh your God with all your heart and soul, and so wil live.
7 E tutte quante queste maledizioni (sì farà venire e) convertiralle sopra i tuoi nemici, e sopra co loro i quali t'hanno avuto in odio (e dispetto) e hannoti perseguitato.	7 Yahweh your God wil make al these curses recoil on your foes and on your enemies who havepersecuted you.
8 Ma tu ritornerai, e sì udirai la voce di Dio tuo Signore, e sì farai tutti quanti i comandamenti i quali io oggi ti comando.	8 And once again you will obey the voice of Yahweh your God and you wil put all his commandmentsinto practice, which I am laying down for you today.
9 E Iddio tuo Signore sì ti farà abbondare in tutte quante le opere delle tue mani, e nelli figliuoli del ventre tuo, e nel frutto delle giumente (e de' cavalli tuoi, e degli asini e de' buoi e de' ca melli tuoi), e nella grassezza della terra tua e in abbondanza di tutte quante le (tue) cose: imperciò che Iddio tornerà, acciò che abbia letizia (e alle grezza) sopra di te (rallegrandosi del tuo bene), in tutte le cose buone, siccome egli si rallegrò coi padri tuoi.	9 Yahweh your God wil make you prosper in al your labours, in the offspring of your body, in the yieldof your cattle and in the yield of your soil. For once again Yahweh will delight in your prosperity as he used totake delight in the prosperity of your ancestors,
10 E questo ti farà, se tu udirai la voce sua, cioè di Dio tuo Signore, e servirai a' suoi comandamenti e sue osservanze, le quali sono scritte in questa legge; e torni a Dio tuo Signore con tutto il tuo cuore e con tutta l'anima tua.	10 if you obey the voice of Yahweh your God, by keeping his commandments and decrees written in thebook of this Law, and if you return to Yahweh your God with all your heart and soul.
11 E questo comandamento, il quale oggi io ti fo (e comando), non t'è adosso, nè molto di lungi,	11 'For this Law which I am laying down for you today is neither obscure for you nor beyond your reach.
12 nè posto in cielo, che tu possi dire: quale di noi puote salire in cielo, che cerchi a noi questo, e udiamlo e mettiamlo in opera?	12 It is not in heaven, so that you need to wonder, "Who wil go up to heaven for us and bring it down tous, so that we can hear and practise it?"
13 Nè non è posto di là dal mare, che tu ti scusi (o colghi cagione) e dichi: quale di noi potrà passare il mare o recarloci, acciò che noi possiamo udire e fare quello che comandato è?	13 Nor is it beyond the seas, so that you need to wonder, "Who will cross the seas for us and bring itback to us, so that we can hear and practise it?"
14 Ma egli si è molto presso a te; questo sermone si è nella bocca tua e nel cuore tuo, acciò che tu il (servi e) facci.	14 No, the word is very near to you, it is in your mouth and in your heart for you to put into practice.
15 (Guarda e) considera che oggi io hoe posta dinanzi a te la vita e il bene, e in contrario la morte e il male;	15 'Look, today I am offering you life and prosperity, death and disaster.
16 acciò che tu ami Iddio tuo Signore, e vadi per le sue vie, e servi i suoi comandamenti, (e osservi) le sue osservanze e i suoi giudicii, acciò che tu viva, e (Iddio) ti moltiplichi, e sì ti benedica, nella terra alla quale tu entrerai a possedere.	16 If you obey the commandments of Yahweh your God, which I am laying down for you today, if youlove Yahweh your God and fol ow his ways, if you keep his commandments, his laws and his customs, you willlive and grow numerous, and Yahweh your God wil bless you in the country which you are about to enter andmake your own.
17 Ma se il tuo cuore sarà pervertito, e non vorrai udire, e ingannato per errore adorerai gli dii altrui, e servirai a loro;	17 But if your heart turns away, if you refuse to listen, if you let yourself be drawn into worshipping othergods and serving them,
18 io ti dico dinanzi oggi, che tu verrai a meno, e poco tempo istii nella terra alla quale, passato il (fiume) Giordano, entrerai a possedere.	18 I tel you today, you will most certainly perish; you will not live for long in the country which you arecrossing the Jordan to enter and possess.
19 Io chiamo oggi per testimonio il cielo e la terra, che Iddio sì v’ha proposto (e detto dinanzi a voi) la vita e la morte, la benedizione e la maledizione; eleggi adunque (e piglia) la vita, acciò che tu viva, tu e il tuo figliuolo.	19 Today, I call heaven and earth to witness against you: I am offering you life or death, blessing orcurse. Choose life, then, so that you and your descendants may live,
20 E ama Iddio tuo Signore, e ubbedirae alla voce sua, e a lui t'accosta; imperciò ch' egli sì è vita e lunghezza de' tuoi dì; acciò che tu abiti nella terra, per la quale egli giurò (e promise) a' tuoi padri, cioè Abraam, Isaac e Iacob (suoi servi) che egli la darebbe loro.	20 in the love of Yahweh your God, obeying his voice, holding fast to him; for in this your life consists,and on this depends the length of time that you stay in the country which Yahweh swore to your ancestorsAbraham, Isaac and Jacob that he would give them.'
