Ieremia 32

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Lo detto che disse Iddio a Ieremia profeta, nell' anno decimo di Sedecia, re di Giuda; egli è lo decimo ottavo anno di Nabucodonosor.	1 The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which wasthe eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.
2 Allora lo esèrcito dello re di Babilonia assediava Ierusalem; e Ieremia profeta era rinchiuso nel cammino della carcere, il quale era nella casa Idello re di Giuda.	2 The army of the king of Babylon was then besieging Jerusalem, and the prophet Jeremiah wasconfined in the Court of the Guard in the king of Judah's palace,
3 E avealo rinchiuso Sedecia, dicente: per che indovini, dicendo: questo dice Iddio: ecco io darò questa città nelle mani dello re di Babilonia ...?	3 where Zedekiah king of Judah had confined him, saying, 'Why do you keep prophesying like this,"Yahweh says this: I am going to hand this city over to the king of Babylon and he wil capture it;
4 ... e parlerà la sua bocca colla sua, e li suoi occhi vederanno li occhi di lui;	4 and Zedekiah king of Judah will not escape the clutches of the Chaldaeans, but will certainly behanded over to the king of Babylon, speak to him personally and see him face to face.
5 e menerà Sedecia in Babilonia; e ivi sarà insino a tanto ch' io visiti lui, dice Iddio; ma se voi schermirete incontro alli Caldei, non averete niuna cosa prospera?	5 He wil take Zedekiah away to Babylon and there he wil stay (until I attend to him, Yahweh declares. Ifyou fight the Chaldaeans you will not succeed!)" '
6 E disse Ieremia: Iddio mi disse:	6 Jeremiah said, 'The word of Yahweh has been addressed to me as fol ows,
7 Ecco Anameel, figliuolo di Sellum, tuo zio verrà a te, dicente: compera a te lo mio campo, lo quale è in Anatot; però che a te tocca di comperarlo, per che tu se' più prossimano.	7 "Look, Hanamel the son of your uncle Shal um wil come to you and say: Buy my field at Anathoth, foryou have the right of redemption to purchase it."
8 E Anameel figliuolo del mio zio venne a me secondo la parola di Dio all' antiporto della carcere, e disse a me: possiedi lo mio campo, lo quale è in Anatot nella terra di Beniamin; però che a te tocca la ereditate, e tu se' prossimano di possessione. Intesi che fosse la parola di Dio.	8 And, as Yahweh had said, my cousin Hanamel came to me, in the Court of the Guard and said, "Buymy field at Anathoth in the territory of Benjamin, for you have the right of inheritance and right of redemption; buyit." I knew then that this was Yahweh's order.
9 E comperai lo campo di Anameel, figliuolo del mio zio, il quale è in Anatot; e diedigli sette statere, [e dieci monete] d' ariento.	9 Accordingly, I bought the field from my cousin Hanamel of Anathoth and weighed him out the money:seventeen silver shekels.
10 E scrissilo nel libro, e segnailo, ed ebbici testimoni; e pesai l'argento colla statera.	10 I drew up the deeds and sealed it, cal ed in witnesses and weighed out the money on the scales.
11 E tolsi il libro della possessione segnato con promessione e fermezza e segni di fuori.	11 I then took both the sealed deed of purchase (with its stipulations and clauses) and its open copy
12 E diedi il libro della possessione a Baruc, figliuolo di Neri, figliuolo di Maasia, nella presenza di Anameel, mio zio, innanzi a' testimoni i quali erano scritti nello libro della compera, e nella presenza di tutti li giudei i quali sedeano nel cammino della carcere.	12 and handed over the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah, son of Mahseiah, in the presence ofmy cousin Hanamel, of the witnesses who had signed the deed of purchase, and of al the Judaeans who thenhappened to be in the Court of the Guard.
13 E comandai a Baruc dinanzi a loro, dicendo:	13 In their presence I gave Baruch this order,
14 Questo dice lo Signore [degli esèrciti] Iddio d'Israel piglia lo libro della compera segnato, e questo libro lo quale è aperto, e ponli in uno vasello nascoso, acciò ci possano istare molto tempo.	14 "Yahweh Sabaoth, God of Israel, says this: Take these deeds, the sealed deed of purchase and itsopen copy, and put them in an earthenware pot, so that they may be preserved for a long time.
15 Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti, Iddio d'Israel: ancora si possederanno le case e li campi e le vigne in questa terra.	15 For Yahweh Sabaoth, God of Israel, says this: Houses, fields and vineyards wil again be bought inthis country."
16 E orai a Dio, poi ch' io diedi lo libro della possessione a Baruc, figliuolo di Neri, dicendoli :	16 'After I had entrusted the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah, I prayed to Yahweh as fol ows,
17 Ohimè, ohimè, ohimè, Signore Iddio! tu facesti lo cielo e la terra nella tua grande fortezza e nel tuo braccio disteso; e non saranno malagevoli a te tutte le parole.	17 "Ah, Lord Yahweh, you made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm.To you nothing is impossible.
18 Però che tu fai misericordia a mille, e rendi la iniquitade de' padri nel seno de' loro figliuoli dopo loro; o Signore delli esèrciti, grande e potentissimo lo tuo nome.	18 You show faithful love to thousands but repay the fathers' guilt in full to their children after them. Greatand mighty God, whose name is Yahweh Sabaoth,
19 Grande per consiglio non può mai esser [com] preso in pensiero; di cui li occhi sono aperti sopra le vie de' figliuoli di Adam, acciò che renda a ciascuno secondo le vie [sue], e secondo lo frutto che tu truovi.	19 great in purpose, mighty in deed, whose eyes are open on al human ways, rewarding every individualas that person's ways and actions deserve!
20 Il quale ponesti segni nella terra d' Egitto insino a questo dì, e in Israel e nelli uomini; e facesti lo nome tuo come è questo dì.	20 You performed signs and wonders in Egypt, as you stil do in Israel and among humanity today. Youhave won the name for yourself which is yours today.
21 E menasti lo popolo tuo d' Israel della terra d' Egitto, con segni e con mano robusta e con braccio. disteso e con grande spaventamento.	21 You brought your people Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, with mighty hand andoutstretched arm and fearsome terror.
22 E dèsti loro questa terra, la quale tu giurasti di dare alli loro padri, terra abbondante di latte e di miele.	22 Then you gave them this country which you had promised on oath to their ancestors, a countryflowing with milk and honey.
23 Ed entrati possederono quella; e non (udirono, cioè non) obbedirono alla voce tua (cioè alla voce di Dio), e non andarono per tua legge; e tutte le cose che comandasti loro che facessono [non fecero], e vennero loro tutti questi mali.	23 They then entered it, taking possession of it, but they would not listen to your voice nor follow yourLaw: they would do nothing you ordered them to do; and so you made this total disaster befall them.
24 Ecco l' armadure sono tutte ordinate incontro alla città, acciò che sia presa; la terra è data nelle mani de' Caldei, i quali combattono incontro a lei, dalla faccia del coltello e della fame e della pestilenza; e tutte le cose che tu parlasti, loro sono avvenute, sì come tu medesimo vedi.	24 Look! The earthworks are already in place to take the city and, by means of sword, famine andplague, the city is now within the clutches of the Chaldaeans attacking it. What you said has now come true, asyou see.
25 E tu, Signore Iddio, di' a me: compera lo campo collo argento, e abbivi testimoni, conciosial cosa che la terra sia data nella mano de' Caldei?	25 Yet you yourself, Lord Yahweh, told me: Buy the field, pay for it, have it witnessed although the city isalready in the Chaldaeans' clutches." '
26 E disse Iddio a me:	26 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
27 Ecco io sono lo Signore Iddio della universa carne: o sarà a me malagevole ogni parola?	27 'Look, I am Yahweh, God of al humanity. Is anything impossible to me?
28 Però questo dice Iddio: ecco io darò questa cittade in mano delli Caldei, e in mano dello re di Babilonia, e piglieranno quella.	28 'So, Yahweh says this, "I shal hand this city over to the Chaldaeans and to Nebuchadnezzar king ofBabylon, and he wil capture it;
29 E verranno li Caldei combattendo incontro a questa terra, e accenderannola, e anche la casa dov' elli sacrificavano a Baal e alli iddi istrani a commovere me a ira.	29 the Chaldaeans attacking this city wil enter it, fire it and burn it to the ground, with the houses onwhose roofs incense has been offered to Baal and libations poured to other gods, to provoke my anger.
30 E quelli di Giuda e li figliuoli d' Israel (stavano e) facevano male nuovamente innanzi alli miei occhi dalla loro giovinezza; li figliuoli d' Israel, i quali insino a ora mi fanno inacerbire nelle opere delle loro mani, dice Iddio.	30 For the people of Israel and Judah alike have done nothing but what displeases me since they wereyoung. (The people of Israel in fact have done nothing but provoke my anger by their actions, Yahweh declares.)
31 Però che questa città m'è fatta in furore e in disdegno, dal dì che la edificarono insino a questo dì, la quale sarà tolta via dal mio cospetto,	31 Yes, from the day when this city was built until today, it has been such cause of anger and wrath tome that I mean to remove it from my sight,
32 per la malizia de' figliuoli d' Israel e de' figliuoli di Giuda, la quale egli feceno provocandomi ad ira, egli e li loro re e li loro principi e i loro sacerdoti e i loro profeti, uomini di Giuda e abitatori di Ierusalem.	32 on account of al the wickedness the people of Israel and the people of Judah have done to provokemy anger; they, their kings, their chief men, their priests, their prophets, the people of Judah and the inhabitantsof Jerusalem.
33 E volsono a me le reni, e non la faccia, quando li ammaestrava nel mattutino (cioè in sul dì); e dimostravali, e non mi volsero udire per ricevere la disciplina.	33 They turned to me their backs, never their faces; and though I taught them so urgently, so untiringly,they would not listen and accept correction.
34 E puosono i loro idoli nella casa nella quale fu invocato lo mio nome, acciò che corrompessono quella.	34 Instead, they set up their Horrors in the Temple that bears my name to defile it,
35 Ed edificarono le (grandi) altezze a Baal, le quali sono nella valle [del figliuolo] d' Ennom, acciò ch' egli avvezzassono li loro figliuoli [e le loro figliuole] a Moloc (cioè uno idolo); la quale cosa io non mandai loro, e non scese nel mio cuore, che facessono questa abominazione, e che menassono in peccato Giuda.	35 and built the high places of Baal in the Val ey of Ben-Hinnom, to burn their sons and daughters alivein honour of Molech: a thing I have never ordered, that had never entered my thoughts -- that they would causeJudah to sin by anything so loathsome!
36 E ora per queste cose dice Iddio d' Israel a questa città, la quale voi dite che fia data nelle mani dello re di Babilonia in coltello e in fame e in pestilenza:	36 "So now, this is what Yahweh, God of Israel, says about this city of which you now say: By means ofsword, famine and plague, it is already within the king of Babylon's clutches:
37 Ecco, io li radunerò di tutte le universe terre, alle quali io li cacciai nel mio furore e nella mia ira e nella mia grande indignazione; e riducerolli a questo luogo, e farolli abitare con fidanza.	37 Look, I shall gather them in from al the countries where I have driven them in my anger, my fury andgreat wrath. I shal bring them back to this place and make them live in safety.
38 E saranno a me in populo, e io sarò a loro Iddio.	38 Then they will be my people, and I shall be their God.
39 E darò loro uno cuore e una anima, acciò che temano me per tutti li loro dì, acciò ch' egli abbiano bene, e li loro figliuoli dopo loro.	39 I shal give them singleness of heart and singleness of conduct so that they wil always fear me, fortheir own good and that of their children after them.
40 E farò con loro patto sempiterno, e non mancherò loro mai a bene fare; e darò lo mio timore nel loro cuore, acciò che non si partano da me.	40 I shal make an everlasting covenant with them, never to cease in my efforts for their welfare, and Ishall put respect for me in their hearts, so that they wil never turn away from me again.
41 E rallegrerommi sopra loro, quando io averò fatto loro bene, e pianterolli in questa terra nella verità, con tutto lo mio cuore e con tutta la mia anima.	41 My joy wil lie in them and in doing them good, and I shal plant them firmly in this country, with al myheart and soul.
42 Però che questo dice Iddio: sì come io addussi in questo populo tutto questo grande male, così adducerò io sopra loro ogni bene, lo quale io parlerò loro.	42 For Yahweh says this: Just as I have brought this complete and total disaster on this people, so I shalbring them al the good things I have promised them.
43 E li campi saranno posseduti in questa terra, della quale voi dite ch' è deserta, però che non rimase nè uomo nè bestia, e sì è data in mano dei Caldei.	43 Fields wil again be bought in this country of which you now say: It is a wasteland without human oranimal, already in the clutches of the Chaldaeans.
44 Li campi si compreranno di pecunia, e saranno scritti nel libro, e porravvisi lo segno (cioè lo suggello), e saranno aggiunti testimonii (cioè) nella terra di Beniamin e nel circuito di Ierusalem ... e nelle città de' campi [e nelle città] che sono inverso di austro; però che io convertirò la loro cattività, dice Iddio.	44 People wil buy fields, pay money, draw up deeds, seal them and have them witnessed in the territoryof Benjamin, in the districts round Jerusalem, in the towns of Judah, of the highlands, of the lowlands and of theNegeb. For I shal bring back their captives, Yahweh declares." '
