Ieremia 10

1 Idite la parola di Dio, o casa d' Israel, la quale elli hae parlato sopra voi.	1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2 Questo dice Iddio: non imparate secondo le vie delle genti; e non temete delli segni del cielo, i quali temono le genti.	2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 Però che le leggi delli populi sono vane; però che lo legno tagliò del bosco; l'operazione dello artefice fu nell' ascia.	3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 E con argento e con oro adornò quello legno; chiavollo con lo chiodo e con martello, acciò che non si possa isciogliere.	4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5 E sono fabbricati in similitudine di palme, e non parleranno; e portati saranno tolti, però che elli non possono andare; non temete dunque quelle cose, però che non possono fare nè male nè bene.	5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
6 Non si trova simile a te, Signore; tu sei grande, e il tuo nome si è grande in fortezza.	6 Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
7 Or chi non temerà te, o re delle genti? Tua è la bellezza; tra tutti li savi delle genti, e tra tutti li regni loro, niuno è simile a te.	7 Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
8 Insieme li stolti e li pazzi saranno provati; la dottrina della loro vanitade è legno.	8 But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.
9 Portato è lo ariento involto di Tarso (Tarso sì è una terra) e oro di Ofaz; l'operazioni dello artefice, e le mani dell' orefice; lo loro vestimento è di color celeste e di rosato; tutte queste cose sono opera d'artefici.	9 Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men.
10 Lo Signore si è Iddio vero; lui è Iddio vivente, e sì è re sempiterno; dalla sua indignazione si commoverà la terra, e non sosterrà la gente le sue minaccie.	10 But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.
11 Adunque si tu dirai loro: li iddii, che non feciono li cieli nè la terra, periscano della terra, e di quelle cose che sono sotto lo cielo.	11 Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
12 Quello che fa la terra nella sua fortezza, apparecchia lo mondo colla sua sapienza; e con la sua prudenza distende li cieli.	12 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
13 Alla sua voce dà moltitudine d'acqua dal cielo, e lieva le tenebre dalla estremitade della terra; e folgore fece nella piova, e conduce li venti delli suoi tesori.	13 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
14 Ogni uomo sì è fatto stolto dalla (sua) scienza; confuso è ogni artefice nella imagine delli idoli; però che falso è quello ch' egli ha fonduto (e fornato), e non hanno spirito in loro.	14 Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
15 Sono cose vane, e opera degna di riso (e di scherni); e nel tempo della visitazione sua periranno.	15 They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
16 La parte di Iacob non è simile a queste cose; ma quello formò tutte le cose (cioè Iddio) esso è, e Israel virga della sua eredità; lo nome suo è Signore delli esèrciti.	16 The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of hosts is his name.
17 O tu che andasti in assedio, raduna della terra tua confusione.	17 Gather up thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress.
18 Però che Iddio dice queste parole: ecco io getterò dalla lunga li abitatori della terra in questa volta, e darò loro tribulazione si che (non) si trovino.	18 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.
19 Guai a me sopra la mia contrizione, pessima plaga mia! E io dissi: certamente questa è la mia infirmità, e porterò quella.	19 Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.
20 Lo mio tabernacolo è guastato, e tutti li miei funicelli sono rotti; li figliuoli miei si partirono da me, e non si trovano; non è chi stenda più oltre la mia tenda, e lievi suso le mie pelli. (E questa tenda si può intendere per trabacca, o per ogni coprimento di panno).	20 My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
21 Però che li pastori sì hanno (fatto e) adoperato mattamente, e non addomandarono Iddio; e però non intesono, e tutta la loro gregge è disparta.	21 For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.
22 La voce dello udire ecco che viene, e grande movimento dalla terra d' aquilone, acciò che ponga le città di Giuda in desolazione, e facciane abitamento di dragoni.	22 Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.
23 O Signore, io so che non s'appartiene al'uomo (dal)la sua via, e non è anche suo mestiere che vadi, e dirizzi (dinanzi al)li suoi andamenti.	23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
24 O Signore, riprendimi e castigami, niente di meno nel tuo giudicio, e non nel tuo furore, acciò che tu forse non mi recassi a niente.	24 O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
25 Spargi la tua indignazione sopra le genti le quali non conobbero te, e sopra le provincie che non chiamarono lo tuo nome: però che si mangiarono Iacob, e divorarono lui, e consumaronlo, e la sua bellezza dissiparono.	25 Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.
