1 Eliseo favellò a quella femina, il cui figliuolo avea resuscitato, e disse: lèvati, e va tu e la tua casa, e peregrinate là ove potete; però cho Iddio ha chiamata la fame, e verrà sopra la terra sette anni.	1 Elisha once said to the woman whose son he had restored to life: "Get ready! Leave with your family and settle wherever you can, because the LORD has decreed a seven-year famine which is coming upon the land."
2 La quale si levò, e fece secondo la parola dell' uomo di Dio: e andando ella con la sua famiglia, peregrinò nella terra de' Filistei molti dì.	2 The woman got ready and did as the man of God said, setting out with her family and settling in the land of the Philistines for seven years.
3 E compiuti i sette anni, la femina ritornò della terra de' Filistei; ed entrò al re per pregarlo della casa e de' campi suoi.	3 At the end of the seven years, the woman returned from the land of the Philistines and went out to the king to claim her house and her field.
4 E il re favellava con Giezi, servigiale dell' uomo del Signore Iddio, e dicea: narrami tutte le grandi cose le quali Eliseo fece.	4 The king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God. "Tell me," he said, "all the great things that Elisha has done."
5 E narrando quegli sì come avea resuscitato uno morto, apparve la femina della quale .Eliseo avea resuscitato il figliuolo, clamando al re per la casa sua e per i suoi campi. E Giezi disse: signore mio re, questa è la donna, e questo è il figliuolo, il quale Eliseo hae resuscitato.	5 Just as he was relating to the king how his master had restored a dead person to life, the very woman whose son Elisha had restored to life came to the king to claim her house and field. "My lord king," Gehazi said, "this is the woman, and this is that son of hers whom Elisha restored to life."
6 E il re domandò la femina; ed ella gli disse che l'era vero. E il re gli diè uno Eunuco, e disse: rendigli tutte le cose che sono sue, e tutte le rendite delle possessioni, dal dì ch' ella si partì insino in questo tempo.	6 The king questioned the woman, and she told him her story. With that the king placed an official at her disposal, saying, "Restore all her property to her, with all that the field produced from the day she left the land until now."
7 Ed Eliseo venne in Damasco, e Benadad re di Siria era infermo; e fu annunciato a lui, e detto: uno uomo di Dio è venuto quiritta.	7 Elisha came to Damascus at a time when Ben-hadad, king of Aram, lay sick. When he was told that the man of God had come there,
8 E disse il re ad Azael: togli teco donamenti, e va incontro all' uomo di Dio, e dirai, se io posso guarire di questa mia infermità?	8 the king said to Hazael, "Take a gift with you and go call on the man of God. Have him consult the LORD as to whether I shall recover from this sickness."
9 E andò Azael incontro a lui, portando seco doni di tutte le buone cose di Damasco, carico di XL cammelli. E istando dinanzi da lui, disse: il tuo figliuolo Benadad re di Siria ha mandato a te, dicendo s'egli potrà guarire di questa sua infermità?	9 Hazael went to visit him, carrying a present, and with forty camel loads of the best goods of Damascus. On his arrival, he stood before the prophet and said, "Your son Ben-hadad, king of Aram, has sent me to ask you whether he will recover from his sickness."
10 Ed Eliseo disse: va e digli: tu sarai sano; ma il Signore m'ha mostrato, che dee morire.	10 "Go and tell him," Elisha answered, "that he will surely recover. However, the LORD has showed me that he will in fact die."
11 E istette con lui, e conturbossi insino ch' egli cominciò a sudare nel viso; e pianse l'uomo di Dio.	11 Then he stared him down until Hazael became ill at ease. The man of God wept,
12 Al quale disse Azael: perchè piagne il mio signore? E quegli disse: perchè io so il male che farai ai figliuoli d'Israel; le loro città fornite tu le arderai, i loro giovani ucciderai con coltello, e i piccolini isbatterai alle pietre, e quelle che saranno pregne tu le fenderai.	12 and Hazael asked, "Why are you weeping, my lord?" Elisha replied, "Because I know the evil that you will inflict upon the Israelites. You will burn their fortresses, you will slay their youth with the sword, you will dash their little children to pieces, you will rip open their pregnant women."
13 E Azael disse: chi sono io tuo servo cane, che faccia questa cosa così grande? Ed Eliseo gli disse: il Signore m'ha mostrato che tu sarai re di Siria.	13 Hazael exclaimed, "How can a dog like me, your servant, do anything so important?" "The LORD has showed you to me as king over Aram," replied Elisha.
14 Il quale, partitosi da Eliseo, venne al suo signore; il quale disse: che ti ha detto Eliseo? E quegli respuose: e' dissemi, che tu sarai sano.	14 Hazael left Elisha and returned to his master. "What did Elisha tell you?" asked Ben-hadad. "He told me that you would surely recover," replied Hazael.
15 E venuto l'altro dì, tolse uno panno e immollollo d'acqua, e puoseglielo in sul viso. Il quale morto, Azael regnò per lui.	15 The next day, however, Hazael took a cloth, dipped it in water, and spread it over the king's face, so that he died. And Hazael reigned in his stead.
16 Il quinto anno di Ioram figliuolo di Acab, re d'Israel, regnò Ioram figliuolo di Iosafat re di Giuda.	16 In the fifth year of Joram, son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jehoram, son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, became king.
17 Quando incominciò a regnare, era di XXXII anni, e regnò otto anni in Ierusalem.	17 He was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
18 E andò per le vie delli re d'Israel, sì come avea fatto la casa di Acab; e la figliuola di Acab era sua moglie; e fece male nel cospetto del Signore.	18 He conducted himself like the kings of Israel of the line of Ahab, since the sister of Ahab was his wife; and he did evil in the LORD'S sight.
19 Ma il Signore non volse disfare Giuda, per amore di David suo servo, sì come gli avea promesso, che gli darebbe lucerna, e a' suoi figliuoli in sempiterno.	19 Even so, the LORD was unwilling to destroy Judah, because of his servant David. For he had promised David that he would leave him a lamp in the LORD'S presence for all time.
20 Nel tempo suo si partì Edom per non essere sotto Giuda, e fece re per sè.	20 During Jehoram's reign, Edom revolted against the sovereignty of Judah and chose a king of its own.
21 E Ioram se n'andò in Seira, e tutti i carri con esso lui; e levossi la notte, e percosse quelli di Idumea, i quali aveano circondato lui e i principi delle carra; e il popolo fuggì nelli suoi tabernacoli.	21 Thereupon Jehoram with all his chariots crossed over to Zair. He arose by night and broke through the Edomites when they had surrounded him and the commanders of his chariots. Then his army fled homeward.
22 Onde che Edom si partì per non essere sotto Giuda insino a questo dì. E ancora in quello tempo si partì Lobna.	22 To this day Edom has been in revolt against the rule of Judah. Libnah also revolted at that time.
23 Tutto l'altro de' fatti di Ioram, e tutte le cose che fece, non sono elle scritte nel libro de' fatti e de' detti de' re di Giuda?	23 The rest of the acts of Jehoram, with all that he did, are recorded in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah.
24 E dormi Ioram con li padri suoi, e fu seppellito con esso loro nella città di David; e regnò Ocozia suo figliuolo per lui.	24 Jehoram rested with his ancestors and was buried with them in the City of David. His son Ahaziah succeeded him as king.
25 Nel XII anno di Ioram, figliuolo di Acab re d' Israel, regnò Ocozia, figliuolo di Ioram re di Giuda.	25 Ahaziah, son of Jehoram, king of Judah, became king in the twelfth year of Joram, son of Ahab, king of Israel.
26 Ed era Ocozia di XXII anni, quando incominciò a regnare, e uno anno regnò in Ierusalem. Il nome della madre fu Atalia figliuola di Amri re d' Israel.	26 He was twenty-two years old when he began his reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah; she was daughter of Omri, king of Israel.
27 E andò per le vie della casa di Acab, e fece male nel cospetto di Dio, sì come la casa di Acab: e fu genero della casa d'Acab.	27 He conducted himself like the house of Ahab, doing evil in the LORD'S sight as they did, since he was related to them by marriage.
28 E andò con Ioram, figliuolo di Acab, a combattere contro ad Azael, re di Siria, in Ramot di Galaad, e i Siri ferirono Ioram.	28 He joined Joram, son of Ahab, in battle against Hazael, king of Aram, at Ramoth-gilead, where the Arameans wounded Joram.
29 Il quale ritornossi a farsi medicare in Iezrael; però che i Siri l'aveano ferito in Ramot, combattendo egli contro ad Azael re di Siria. Ma Ocozia, figliuolo di Ioram re di Giuda, discese a vedere Ioram figliuolo di Acab in Iezrael, però ch' era infermo.	29 King Joram returned to Jezreel to be healed of the wounds which the Arameans had inflicted on him at Ramah in his battle against Hazael, king of Aram. Then Ahaziah, son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to Jezreel to visit him there in his illness.
