LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Canto delle ascensioni. Alzo gli occhi verso i monti: da dove mi verrà l'aiuto?	1 [Song of Ascents] I lift up my eyes to the mountains; where is my help to come from?
2 L'aiuto mi verrà dal Signore: egli ha fatto cieli e terra.	2 My help comes from Yahweh who made heaven and earth.
3 Non permetterà che il tuo piede vacilli, né che il tuo custode sonnecchi.	3 May he save your foot from stumbling; may he, your guardian, not fall asleep!
4 Ecco, non sonnecchia, non s'addormenta il custode d'Israele.	4 You see -- he neither sleeps nor slumbers, the guardian of Israel.
5 Il Signore è il tuo custode, il Signore è l'ombra che ti copre.	5 Yahweh is your guardian, your shade, Yahweh, at your right hand.
6 Non ti colpirà il sole di giorno, né la luna di notte.	6 By day the sun will not strike you, nor the moon by night.
7 Il Signore ti custodirà da ogni male, custodirà la tua anima.	7 Yahweh guards you from al harm Yahweh guards your life,
8 Il Signore custodirà la tua partenza e il tuo arrivo, ora e sempre!	8 Yahweh guards your comings and goings, henceforth and for ever.
