Isaiah 46

1 Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols are upon beasts and cattle; They must be borne up on shoulders, carried as burdens by the weary.	1 Pade Bel! Sruši se Nebo! Prte svoje kipove na životinje i stoku, nose ih kao breme, teret što zamara.
2 They stoop and bow down together; unable to save those who bear them, they too go into captivity.	2 Padaju, ruše se svi zajedno, ne mogu spasiti one što ih nose, nego i sami u ropstvo odlaze.
3 Hear me, O house of Jacob, all who remain of the house of Israel, My burden since your birth, whom I have carried from your infancy.	3 »Slušajte me, kućo Jakovljeva, i svi koji ostadoste od kuće Izraelove! Ja sam vas ponio tek što se rodiste, i nosio vas od krila materina.
4 Even to your old age I am the same, even when your hair is gray I will bear you; It is I who have done this, I who will continue, and I who will carry you to safety.	4 Do starosti vaše ja ću ostat’ isti, do vaših sjedina podupirat ću vas. To sam činio; nosit ću vas i dalje, pomagati vas, izbavljati.«
5 Whom would you compare me with, as an equal, or match me against, as though we were alike?	5 »S kime biste me usporedili i izjednačili, s kime prispodobili: komu da sam sličan?
6 There are those who pour out gold from a purse and weigh out silver on the scales; Then they hire a goldsmith to make it into a god before which they fall down in worship.	6 Vade zlato iz kese i tezuljom mjere srebro, pa naimlju zlatara da od njeg boga načini, te pred njim padaju ničice i klanjaju se.
7 They lift it to their shoulders to carry; when they set it in place again, it stays, and does not move from the spot. Although they cry out to it, it cannot answer; it delivers no one from distress.	7 Dižu ga na rame i nose ga, onda ga stavljaju na njegovo mjesto; on stoji i ne miče se s njega. Prizivaju li ga, on ne odgovara, i nikog ne spašava od nevolje njegove.«
8 Remember this and be firm, bear it well in mind, you rebels; remember the former things, those long ago:	8 »Sjetite se toga i budite ljudi, uzmite to k srcu, otpadnici,
9 I am God, there is no other; I am God, there is none like me.	9 sjetite se prošlosti pradavne: ja sam Bog, i nema drugoga; Bog, nitko mi sličan nije!
10 At the beginning I foretell the outcome; in advance, things not yet done. I say that my plan shall stand, I accomplish my every purpose.	10 Onaj sam koji od početka svršetak otkriva i unaprijed javlja što još se nije zbilo! Ja kažem: Odluka će se moja ispuniti, izvršit ću sve što mi je po volji.
11 I call from the east a bird of prey, from a distant land, one to carry out my plan. Yes, I have spoken, I will accomplish it; I have planned it, and I will do it.	11 S istoka zovem grabljivicu, iz daleke zemlje zovem čovjeka svog nauma. Rekao sam – ispunit ću, naumio sam – izvršit ću.
12 Listen to me, you fainthearted, you who seem far from the victory of justice:	12 Slušajte me, vi koji gubite srčanost i koji ste daleko od pobjede.
13 I am bringing on my justice, it is not far off, my salvation shall not tarry; I will put salvation within Zion, and give to Israel my glory.	13 Primičem svoju pobjedu, nije više daleko, spasenje moje zakasnit’ neće. Na Sion ću spas staviti, u Izraela svoju slavu.«
