1 Cantique des montées. Tant ils m'ont traqué dès ma jeunesse, -- à Israël de le dire --	1 A song of ascents. Much have they oppressed me from my youth, now let Israel say.

3 Sur mon dos ont labouré les laboureurs, allongeant leurs sillons;	3 Upon my back the plowers plowed, as they traced their long furrows.
4 Yahvé le juste a brisé les liens des impies.	4 But the just LORD cut me free from the ropes of the yoke of the wicked.
5 Qu'ils soient tous confondus, repoussés, les ennemis de Sion;	5 May they be scattered in disgrace, all who hate Zion.
6 qu'ils soient comme l'herbe des toits qui sèche avant qu'on l'arrache!	6 May they be like grass on the rooftops withered in early growth,
7 Le moissonneur n'en remplit pas sa main, ni le lieur, son giron;	7 Never to fill the reaper's hands, nor the arms of the binders of sheaves,
8 et point ne diront les passants: Bénédiction de Yahvé sur vous! Nous vous bénissons au nom deYahvé.	8 With none passing by to call out: "The blessing of the LORD be upon you! We bless you in the name of the LORD!"
