Ephesians 4

DOUAI-RHEIMS	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 I therefore, a prisoner in the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation in which you are called,	1 Yo, que estoy preso por el Señor, los exhorto a comportarse de una manera digna de la vocación que han recibido.
2 With all humility and mildness, with patience, supporting one another in charity.	2 Con mucha humildad, mansedumbre y paciencia, sopórtense mutuamente por amor.
3 Careful to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.	3 Traten de conservar la unidad del Espíritu mediante el vínculo de la paz.
4 One body and one Spirit; as you are called in one hope of your calling.	4 Hay un solo Cuerpo y un solo Espíritu, así como hay una misma esperanza, a la que ustedes han sido llamados, de acuerdo con la vocación recibida.
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism.	5 hay un solo Señor, una sola fe, un solo bautismo.
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in us all.	6 Hay un solo Dios y Padre de todos, que está sobre todos, lo penetra todo y está en todos.
7 But to every one of us is given grace, according to the measure of the giving of Christ.	7 Sin embargo, cada uno de nosotros ha recibido su propio don, en la medida que Cristo los ha distribuido.
8 Wherefore he saith: Ascending on high, he led captivity captive; he gave gifts to men.	8 Por eso dice la Escritura: "Cuando subió a lo alto, llevó consigo a los cautivos y repartió dones a los hombres".
9 Now that he ascended, what is it, but because he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?	9 Pero si decimos que subió, significa que primero descendió a las regiones inferiores de la tierra.
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.	10 El que descendió es el mismo que subió más allá de los cielos, para colmar todo el universo.
11 And he gave some apostles, and some prophets, and other some evangelists, and other some pastors and doctors,	11 El comunicó a unos el don de ser apóstoles, a otros profetas, a otros predicadores del Evangelio, a otros pastores o maestros.
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:	12 Así organizó a los santos para la obra del ministerio, en orden a la edificación del Cuerpo de Cristo,
13 Until we all meet into the unity of faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the age of the fulness of Christ;	13 hasta que todos lleguemos a la unidad de la fe y del conocimiento del Hijo de Dios, al estado de hombre perfecto y a la madurez que corresponde a la plenitud de Cristo.
14 That henceforth we be no more children tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the wickedness of men, by cunning craftiness, by which they lie in wait to deceive	14 Así dejaremos de ser niños, sacudidos por las olas y arrastrados por el viento de cualquier doctrina, a merced de la malicia de los hombres y de su astucia para enseñar el error.
15 But doing the truth in charity, we may in all things grow up in him who is the head, even Christ:	15 Por el contrario, viviendo en la verdad y en el amor, crezcamos plenamente, unidos a Cristo. El es la Cabeza,
16 From whom the whole body, being compacted and fitly joined together, by what every joint supplieth, according to the operation in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body, unto the edifying of itself in charity.	16 y de él, todo el Cuerpo recibe unidad y cohesión, gracias a los ligamentos que lo vivifican y a la acción armoniosa de todos los miembros. Así el Cuerpo crece y se edifica en el amor.
17 This then I say and testify in the Lord: That henceforward you walk not as also the Gentiles walk in the vanity of their mind,	17 Les digo y les recomiendo en nombre del Señor: no procedan como los paganos, que se dejan llevar por la frivolidad de sus pensamientos
18 Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their hearts.	18 y tienen la mente oscurecida. Ellos están apartados de la Vida de Dios por su ignorancia y su obstinación,
19 Who despairing, have given themselves up to lasciviousness, unto the working of all uncleanness, unto the working of all uncleanness, unto covetousness.	19 y habiendo perdido el sentido moral, se han entregado al vicio, cometiendo desenfrenadamente toda clase de impurezas.
20 But you have not so learned Christ;	20 Pero no es eso lo que ustedes aprendieron de Cristo,
21 If so be that you have heard him, and have been taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus:	21 si es que de veras oyeron predicar de él y fueron enseñados según la verdad que reside en Jesús.
22 To put off, according to former conversation, the old man, who is corrupted according to the desire of error.	22 De él aprendieron que es preciso renunciar a la vida que llevaban, despojándose del hombre viejo, que se va corrompiendo por la seducción de la concupiscencia,
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind:	23 para renovarse en lo más íntimo de su espíritu
24 And put on the new man, who according to God is created in justice and holiness of truth.	24 y revestirse del hombre nuevo, creado a imagen de Dios en la justicia y en la verdadera santidad.
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak ;ye the truth every man with his neighbour; for we are members one of another.	25 Por eso, renuncien a la mentira y digan siempre la verdad a su prójimo, ya que todos somos miembros, los unos de los otros.
26 Be angry, and sin not. Let not the sun go down upon your anger.	26 Si se enojan, no se dejen arrastrar al pecado ni permitan que la noche los sorprenda enojados,
27 Give not place to the devil.	27 dando así ocasión al demonio.
28 He that stole, let him now steal no more; but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have something to give to him that suffereth need.	28 El que robaba, que deje de robar y se ponga a trabajar honestamente con sus manos, para poder ayudar al que está necesitado.
29 Let no evil speech proceed from your mouth; but that which is good, to the edification of faith, that it may administer grace to the hearers.	29 No profieran palabras inconvenientes; al contrario, que sus palabras sean siempre buenas, para que resulten edificantes cuando sea necesario y hagan bien a aquellos que las escuchan.
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God: whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption.	30 No entristezcan al Espíritu Santo de Dios, que los ha marcado con un sello para el día de la redención.
31 Let all bitterness, and anger, and indignation, and clamour, and blasphemy, be put away from you, with all malice.	31 Eviten la amargura, los arrebatos, la ira, los gritos, los insultos y toda clase de maldad.
32 And be ye kind one to another; merciful, forgiving one another, even as God hath forgiven you in Christ.	32 Por el contrario, sean mutuamente buenos y compasivos, perdonándose los unos a los otros como Dios los ha perdonado en Cristo.
