Hosea 3

1 And the Lord said to me: Go yet again, and love a woman beloved of her friend, and an adulteress : as the Lord loveth the children of Israel, and they look to strange gods, and love the husks of the grapes.	1 Yahvé me dit: “Retourne et aime une femme qui est adultère et qui fait l’amour avec d’autres; tout comme Yahvé aime les Israélites bien qu’ils soient attachés à d’autres dieux et leur offrent des gâteaux de raisins.”
2 And I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for a core of barley, and for half a core of barley.	2 Alors je l’ai rachetée pour 15 sicles d’argent et une mesure et demie d’orge
3 And I said to her: Thou shalt wait for me many days: thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt be no man's, and I also will wait for thee.	3 et je lui ai dit: “Pendant de nombreux jours tu resteras ici, tu ne te prostitueras plus et tu ne te donneras à aucun homme, et moi aussi je resterai à l’écart.”
4 For the children of Israel shall sit many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without altar, and without ephod, and without theraphim.	4 Car durant de nombreux jours les Israélites resteront sans roi ni chef, sans sacrifice et sans pierre dressée, sans éphod et sans téraphim.
5 And after this the children of Israel shall return, and shall seek the Lord their God, and David their king: and they shall fear the Lord, and his goodness in the last days.	5 Après quoi, les Israélites reviendront. Ils chercheront de nouveau Yahvé leur Dieu et David leur roi. Ils reviendront en tremblant vers Yahvé, espérant sa bonté, à la fin des jours.
