Proverbs 14

1 A wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish will pull down with her hands that also which is built.	1 Мудрая жена устроит дом свой, а глупая разрушит его своими руками.
2 He that walketh in the right way, and feareth God, Cis despised by him that goeth by an infamous way.	2 Идущий прямым путем боится Господа; но чьи пути кривы, тот небрежет о Нем.
3 In the mouth of a fool is the rod of pride: but the lips of the wise preserve them.	3 В устах глупого--бич гордости; уста же мудрых охраняют их.
4 Where there are no oxen, the crib is empty: but where there is much corn, there the strength of the ox is manifest.	4 Где нет волов, [там] ясли пусты; а много прибыли от силы волов.
5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a deceitful witness uttereth a lie.	5 Верный свидетель не лжет, а свидетель ложный наговорит много лжи.
6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: the learning of the wise is easy.	6 Распутный ищет мудрости, и не находит; а для разумного знание легко.
7 Go against a foolish man, and he knoweth not the lips of prudence.	7 Отойди от человека глупого, у которого ты не замечаешь разумных уст.
8 The wisdom of a. discreet man is to understand his way: and the imprudence of fools erreth.	8 Мудрость разумного--знание пути своего, глупость же безрассудных--заблуждение.
9 A fool will laugh at sin, but among the just grace shall abide.	9 Глупые смеются над грехом, а посреди праведных--благоволение.
10 The heart that knoweth the bitterness of his own soul, in his joy the stranger shall not intermeddle.	10 Сердце знает горе души своей, и в радость его не вмешается чужой.
11 The house of the wicked shall be destroyed: but the tabernacles of the just shall flourish.	11 Дом беззаконных разорится, а жилище праведных процветет.
12 There is a way which seemeth just to a man: but the ends thereof lead to death.	12 Есть пути, которые кажутся человеку прямыми; но конец их--путь к смерти.
13 Laughter shall be mingled with sorrow, and mourning taketh hold of the end of joy.	13 И при смехе [иногда] болит сердце, и концом радости бывает печаль.
14 A fool shall be filled with his own ways, and the good man shall be above him.	14 Человек с развращенным сердцем насытится от путей своих, и добрый--от своих.
15 The innocent believeth every word: the discreet man considereth his steps. No good shall come to the deceitful son: but the wise servant shall prosper in his dealings, and his way shall be made straight.	15 Глупый верит всякому слову, благоразумный же внимателен к путям своим.
16 A wise man feareth and declineth from evil: the fool leapeth over and is confident.	16 Мудрый боится и удаляется от зла, а глупый раздражителен и самонадеян.
17 The impatient man shall work folly: and the crafty man is hateful.	17 Вспыльчивый может сделать глупость; но человек, умышленно делающий зло, ненавистен.
18 The childish shall possess folly, and the prudent, shall look for knowledge.	18 Невежды получают в удел себе глупость, а благоразумные увенчаются знанием.
19 The evil shall fall down before the good: and the wicked before the gates of the just.	19 Преклонятся злые пред добрыми и нечестивые--у ворот праведника.
20 The poor man shall be hateful even to his own neighbour: but the friends of the rich are many.	20 Бедный ненавидим бывает даже близким своим, а у богатого много друзей.
21 He that despiseth his neighbour, sinneth: but he that sheweth mercy to the poor, shall be blessed. He that believeth in the Lord, loveth mercy.	21 Кто презирает ближнего своего, тот грешит; а кто милосерд к бедным, тот блажен.
22 They err that work evil: but mercy and truth prepare good things.	22 Не заблуждаются ли умышляющие зло? но милость и верность у благомыслящих.
23 In much work there shall be abundance: but where there are many words, there is oftentimes want.	23 От всякого труда есть прибыль, а от пустословия только ущерб.
24 The crown of the wise is their riches: the folly of fools, imprudence.	24 Венец мудрых--богатство их, а глупость невежд глупость [и] [есть].
25 A faithful witness delivereth souls: and the double dealer uttereth lies.	25 Верный свидетель спасает души, а лживый наговорит много лжи.
26 In the fear of the Lord is confidence of strength, and there shall be hope for his children.	26 В страхе пред Господом--надежда твердая, и сынам Своим Он прибежище.
27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to decline from the ruin of death.	27 Страх Господень--источник жизни, удаляющий от сетей смерти.
28 In the multitude of people is the dignity of the king: and in the small number of people the dishonour of the prince.	28 Во множестве народа--величие царя, а при малолюдстве народа беда государю.
29 He that is patient, is governed with much wisdom: but he that is impatient, exalteth his folly.	29 У терпеливого человека много разума, а раздражительный выказывает глупость.
30 Soundness of heart is the life of the flesh: but envy is the rottenness of the bones.	30 Кроткое сердце--жизнь для тела, а зависть--гниль для костей.
31 He that oppresseth the poor, upbraideth his Maker: but he that hath pity on the poor, honoureth him.	31 Кто теснит бедного, тот хулит Творца его; чтущий же Его благотворит нуждающемуся.
32 The wicked man shall be driven out in his wickedness: but the just hath hope in his death.	32 За зло свое нечестивый будет отвергнут, а праведный и при смерти своей имеет надежду.
33 In the heart of the prudent resteth wisdom, and it shall instruct all the ignorant.	33 Мудрость почиет в сердце разумного, и среди глупых дает знать о себе.
34 Justice exalteth a nation: but sin maketh nations miserable.	34 Праведность возвышает народ, а беззаконие--бесчестие народов.
35 A wise servant is acceptable to the king: he that is good for nothing shall feel his anger.	35 Благоволение царя--к рабу разумному, а гнев его--против того, кто позорит его.
