DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Cantico di Salmo di Asaf. O DIO, non istartene cheto; Non tacere, e non riposarti, o Dio.	1 [Song Psalm Of Asaph] God, do not remain silent, do not stay quiet or unmoved, God!
2 Perciocchè ecco, i tuoi nemici romoreggiano; E quelli che ti odiano alzano il capo.	2 See how your enemies are in uproar, how those who hate you are rearing their heads.
3 Hanno preso un cauto consiglio contro al tuo popolo, E si son consigliati contro a quelli che son nascosti appo te.	3 They are laying plans against your people, conspiring against those you cherish;
4 Hanno detto: Venite, e distruggiamoli, Sì che non sieno più nazione, E che il nome d’Israele non sia più ricordato.	4 they say, 'Come, let us annihilate them as a nation, the name of Israel shall be remembered no more!'
5 Perciocchè si son di pari consentimento consigliati insieme, Ed han fatta lega contro a te.	5 They conspire with a single mind, they conclude an al iance against you,
6 Le tende di Edom, e gl’Ismaeliti; I Moabiti, e gli Hagareni;	6 the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites,
7 I Ghebaliti, gli Ammoniti, e gli Amalechiti; I Filistei, insieme con gli abitanti di Tiro;	7 Gebal, Ammon, Amalek, Philistia and the Tyrians;
8 Gli Assiri eziandio si son congiunti con loro; Sono stati il braccio de’ figliuoli di Lot. Sela	8 even Assyria has joined them to reinforce the children of Lot.Pause
9 Fa’ loro come tu facesti a Madian; Come a Sisera, come a Iabin, al torrente di Chison;	9 Treat them like Midian and Sisera, like Jabin at the river Kishon;
10 I quali furono sconfitti in Endor, E furono per letame alla terra.	10 wiped out at En-Dor, they served to manure the ground.
11 Fa’ che i lor principi sieno come Oreb e Zeeb; E tutti i lor signori come Zeba, e Salmunna;	11 Treat their leaders like Oreb and Zeeb, al their commanders like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 Perciocchè hanno detto: Conquistiamoci gli abitacoli di Dio.	12 for they said, 'Let us take for ourselves God's settlements.'
13 Dio mio, falli essere come una palla; Come della stoppia al vento.	13 My God, treat them like thistledown, like chaff at the mercy of the wind.
14 Come il fuoco brucia un bosco, E come la fiamma divampa i monti.	14 As fire devours a forest, as a flame sets mountains ablaze,
15 Così perseguitali colla tua tempesta, E conturbali col tuo turbo.	15 so drive them away with your tempest, by your whirlwind fill them with terror.
16 Empi le lor facce di vituperio; E fa’ che cerchino il tuo Nome, o Signore.	16 Shame written al over their faces, let them seek your name, Yahweh!
17 Sieno svergognati, e conturbati in perpetuo; E sieno confusi, e periscano;	17 Dishonour and terror be always theirs, death also and destruction.
18 E conoscano che tu, il cui Nome è il Signore, Sei il solo Altissimo sopra tutta la terra	18 Let them know that you alone bear the name of Yahweh, Most High over al the earth.
