Isaías 13

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Oráculo sobre Babilonia, que Isaías, hijo de Amós, recibió en una visión:	1 Proclamation about Babylon, seen by Isaiah son of Amoz.
2 Sobre un monte desierto alcen un estandarte, lancen un grito hacia ellos, agiten la mano, para que entren por las Puertas de los nobles.	2 On a bare hill hoist a signal, shout for them, beckon them to come to the Nobles' Gate.
3 Yo di una orden a los que me están consagrados, convoqué a los guerreros de mi ira. a los que se alegran de mi triunfo.	3 I have issued orders to my sacred warriors, I have summoned my heroes to serve my anger, my proudchampions.
4 ¡Escuchen! ¡Un tumulto en las montañas, algo así como una inmensa muchedumbre! ¡Escuchen! ¡Un alboroto de reinos, de naciones congregadas! Es el Señor de los ejércitos que pasa revista al ejército para la batalla.	4 The noise of a great crowd in the mountains, like an immense people, the tumultuous sound ofkingdoms, of nations mustering: it is Yahweh Sabaoth marshal ing the troops for battle.
5 Ya vienen de un país lejano, desde los extremos del cielo, el Señor y los instrumentos de su furor para arrasar toda la tierra.	5 They come from a distant country, from the far horizons, Yahweh and the instruments of his fury to laythe whole country waste.
6 ¡Giman, porque está cerca el Día del Señor y viene del Devastador como una devastación!	6 Howl! For the Day of Yahweh is near, coming like devastation from Shaddai.
7 por eso desfallecen todas las manos y se descorazonan todos los mortales.	7 This is why al hands fal limp, why al the men are losing heart;
8 Se llenan de espanto, dolores y convulsiones los invaden, se retuercen como una parturienta se miran unos a otros con estupor, sus rostros están encendidos como llamas.	8 they are panic-stricken, seized with pains and convulsions; they writhe like a woman in labour, theylook at one another appal ed, with feverish faces.
9 ¡Miren! Ahí llega el Día del Señor, día cruel, de furor y de ira ardiente, para hacer de la tierra una devastación y exterminar de ella a los pecadores.	9 Look, the Day of Yahweh is coming, merciless, with wrath and burning anger, to reduce the country toa desert and root out the sinners from it.
10 Porque los astros del cielo y sus constelaciones no irradiarán más su luz; el sol se oscurecerá al salir y la luna dejará de brillar.	10 For in the sky the stars and Orion wil shed their light no longer, the sun wil be dark when it rises, andthe moon will no longer give its light.
11 Yo castigaré al mundo por su maldad y a los malvados por su iniquidad. Pondré fin al orgullo de los arrogantes y humillaré la soberbia de los violentos	11 I am going to punish the world for its wickedness and the wicked for their guilt, and put an end to thepride of the arrogant and humble the haughtiness of despots.
12 Haré a los mortales más escasos que el otro fino, a los hombres, más escasos que el otro de Ofir.	12 I shal make people scarcer than pure gold, human life scarcer than the gold of Ophir.
13 Por eso, haré temblar los cielos, y la tierra se moverá de su sitio bajo el furor del Señor de los ejércitos, en el día de su ira ardiente.	13 This is why I am going to shake the heavens, why the earth wil reel on its foundations, under thewrath of Yahweh Sabaoth, the day when his anger ignites.
14 Entonces, como una gacela espantada y como un rebaño al que nadie congrega cada uno se volverá a su pueblo. cada uno huirá a su país.	14 Then like a hunted gazel e, like sheep that nobody gathers in, everyone will head back to his people,everyone wil flee to his native land.
15 Todo el que sea descubierto, será traspasado. y el que sea apresado, caerá bajo la espada.	15 Al those who are found wil be stabbed, al those captured wil fal by the sword,
16 Sus niños pequeños serán estrellado ante sus ojos, sus casas saqueadas y sus mujeres violadas.	16 their babies dashed to pieces before their eyes, their houses plundered, their wives raped.
17 ¡Miren! Yo suscrito contra ellos a los medos, que no estiman la plata, ni les importa el oro:	17 Look, against them I am stirring up the Medes who care nothing for silver, who set no value by gold.
18 sus arcos acribillarán a los jóvenes, no se apiadarán del fruto de las entrañas ni sentirán compasión por los niños.	18 Bows wil annihilate the young men, they wil have no pity for the fruit of the womb, or mercy in theireyes for children.
19 Babilonia, hermosura de los reinos, gloria y orgullo de los caldeos, soportará la misma catástrofe que Dios envió a Sodoma y Gomorra.	19 And Babylon, that pearl of kingdoms, that splendid jewel of the Chaldaeans, wil , like Sodom andGomorrah, be overthrown by God.
20 Quedará despoblada para siempre, no la habitarán a lo largo de las generaciones; allí el árabe no plantará su carpa ni los pastores apacentarán sus rebaños.	20 Never again will anyone live there or reside there for al generations to come. Never again wil theArab pitch his tent there, or the shepherds bring their flocks to rest.
21 Allí se apacentarán las fieras del desierto y los búhos llenarán sus casas; allí anidarán los avestruces y danzarán los sátiros;	21 But beasts of the desert wil make their haunt there and owls fill their houses, there ostriches wil settletheir home, there goats will dance.
22 las hienas aullarán en sus mansiones y los chacales en sus palacios suntuosos. Su hora ya está por llegar y no serán prolongados sus días.	22 Hyenas wil howl in its towers, jackals in its delightful palaces, for its doom is about to come and itsdays wil not last long.
