1 Amonéstales que vivan sumisos a los magistrados y a las autoridades, que les obedezcan y estén prontos para toda obra buena;	1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
2 que no injurien a nadie, que no sean pendencieros sino apacibles, mostrando una perfecta mansedumbre con todos los hombres.	2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
3 Pues también nosotros fuimos en algún tiempo insensatos, desobedientes, descarriados, esclavos de toda suerte de pasiones y placeres, viviendo en malicia y envidia, aborrecibles y aborreciéndonos unos a otros.	3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 Mas cuando se manifestó la bondad de Dios nuestro Salvador y su amor a los hombres,	4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 él nos salvó, no por obras de justicia que hubiésemos hecho nosotros, sino según su misericordia, por medio del baño de regeneración y de renovación del Espíritu Santo,	5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 que derramó sobre nosotros con largueza por medio de Jesucristo nuestro Salvador,	6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 para que, justificados por su gracia, fuésemos constituidos herederos, en esperanza, de vida eterna.	7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8 Es cierta esta afirmación, y quiero que en esto te mantengas firme, para que los que creen en Dios traten de sobresalir en la práctica de las buenas obras. Esto es bueno y provechoso para los hombres.	8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
9 Evita discusiones necias, genealogías, contiendas y disputas sobre la Ley, porque son inútiles y vanas.	9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
10 Al sectario, después de una y otra amonestación, rehúyele;	10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
11 ya sabes que ése está pervertido y peca, condenado por su propia sentencia.	11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.
12 Cuando te envíe a Artemas o a Tíquico, date prisa en venir donde mí a Nicópolis, porque he pensado pasar allí el invierno.	12 When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.
13 Cuida de proveer de todo lo necesario para el viaje a Zenas, el perito en la Ley, y a Apolo, de modo que nada les falte.	13 Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them.
14 Que aprendan también los nuestros a sobresalir en la práctica de las buenas obras, atendiendo a las necesidades urgentes, para que no sean unos inútiles.	14 And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
15 Te saludan todos los que están conmigo. Saluda a los que nos aman en la fe. La gracia sea con todos vosotros.	15 All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.
