Zacarías 1

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 En el octavo mes del año segundo de Darío fue dirigida la palabra de Yahveh al profeta Zacarías (hijo de Berekías), hijo de Iddó, en estos términos:	1 In the second year of Darius, in the eighth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to the prophetZechariah (son of Berechiah), son of Iddo, as fol ows,
2 «Yahveh se ha irritado mucho contra vuestros padres».	2 'Yahweh was deeply angry with your ancestors.
3 Les dirás: «Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Volveos a mí - oráculo de Yahveh Sebaot - y yo me volveré a vosotros, dice Yahveh Sebaot.	3 So say this to them, "Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Return to me -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- and I willreturn to you, says Yahweh Sabaoth.
4 No seáis como vuestros padres, a quienes los antiguos profetas gritaban así: “¡Volveos de vuestros malos caminos y de vuestras malas obras!” Pero ellos no escucharon ni me hicieron caso - oráculo de Yahveh -.	4 Do not be like your ancestors when the prophets in the past cried to them: Yahweh Sabaoth says this:Turn back from your evil ways and evil deeds -- they would not listen or pay attention to me -- Yahweh declares.
5 Vuestros padres ¿dónde están? Y los profetas ¿van a vivir por siempre?	5 Where are your ancestors now? And the prophets, do they live for ever?
6 Sin embargo, mis palabras y preceptos que yo había prescrito a mis siervos los profetas ¿no alcanzaron a vuestros padres? Por eso se volvieron ellos y dijeron: “Como Yahveh Sebaot había decidido tratarnos, según nuestros caminos y nuestras obras, así nos ha tratado”».	6 But did not my words and statutes, with which I had charged my servants the prophets, overtake yourancestors just the same?" ' So they repented and said, 'Yahweh Sabaoth has treated us as he resolved to do,and as our ways and deeds deserved.'
7 El día veinticuatro del undécimo mes (que es el mes de Sebat), el año segundo de Darío, fue dirigida la palabra de Yahveh al profeta Zacarías (hijo de (Berekías), hijo de Iddó, en estos términos:	7 On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month (the month of Shebat), in the second year of Darius, theword of Yahweh was addressed to the prophet Zechariah (son of Berechiah), son of Iddo, as fol ows,
8 He tenido una visión esta noche. Era un hombre que montaba un caballo rojo; estaba de pie entre los mirtos que hay en la hondonada; detrás de él, caballos rojos, alazanes y blancos.	8 'I had a vision during the night. There was a man riding a red horse standing among the deep-rootedmyrtles; behind him were other horses-red, chestnut and white.
9 Yo dije: «¿Quiénes son éstos, señor mío?» El ángel que hablaba conmigo me dijo: «Yo te enseñaré quiénes son éstos».	9 I said, "What are these, my lord?" And the angel who was talking to me said, "I will show you what they are."
10 Y el hombre que estaba entre los mirtos intervino y dijo: «Estos son los que ha enviado Yahveh a recorrer la tierra».	10 The man standing among the myrtles then replied, "Those are they whom Yahweh has sent to patrolthe world."
11 Entonces ellos se dirigieron al ángel de Yahveh que estaba entre los mirtos y dijeron: «Hemos recorrido la tierra y hemos visto que toda la tierra vive en paz».	11 They reported to the angel of Yahweh as he stood among the myrtles, "We have been patrol ing theworld, and indeed the whole world is stil and at peace."
12 Tomó la palabra el ángel de Yahveh y dijo: «Oh Yahveh Sebaot, ¿hasta cuándo seguirás sin apiadarte de Jerusalén y de las ciudades de Judá, contra las cuales estás irritado desde hace setenta años?»	12 The angel of Yahweh then spoke and said, "Yahweh Sabaoth, how long wil you wait before taking pityon Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, on which you have inflicted your anger for the past seventy years?"
13 Yahveh respondió al ángel que hablaba conmigo palabras buenas, palabras de consuelo.	13 Yahweh then replied with kind and comforting words to the angel who was talking to me.
14 Y el ángel que hablaba conmigo me dijo: «Clama y di: Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Celoso estoy por Jerusalén y por Sión con gran celo,	14 The angel who was talking to me then said to me, "Make this proclamation: Yahweh Sabaoth saysthis: I am burning with jealousy for Jerusalem and Zion
15 y con gran irritación irritado contra las naciones que se sienten seguras, y que, cuando yo estaba poco irritado, contribuyeron al mal.	15 but am deeply angry with the nations now at ease; before, I was only mildly angry, but they contributedto the disaster.
16 Por eso, así dice Yahveh: A Jerusalén me vuelvo con piedad: en ella será reedificada mi Casa - oráculo de Yahveh Sebaot - y el cordel será tendido sobre Jerusalén.	16 So now Yahweh says this: In compassion I have returned to Jerusalem; my Temple will be rebuiltthere -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- and the measuring line wil be stretched over Jerusalem.
17 Clama también y di: Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Aún han de rebosar mis ciudades de bienes; aún consolará Yahveh a Sión y aún elegirá a Jerusalén».	17 Make this proclamation too: Yahweh Sabaoth says this: My cities are once more to be veryprosperous. Yahweh will comfort Zion once again, and again make Jerusalem his choice." '
