1 Élihou prit encore la parole:	1 Elihu continued his speech. He said:
2 Voyons, Job, crois-tu vraiment avoir raison et pouvoir te justifier devant Dieu	2 Do you think you can prove yourself upright and establish your uprightness before God
3 quand tu lui dis: “Que t’importe, qu’est-ce que cela te fait si je pèche?”	3 by daring to say to him, 'What does it matter to you, or how does it benefit me, whether I have sinnedor not?'

5 Lève les yeux vers le ciel et regarde: vois ces nuages bien au-dessus de toi!	5 Take a look at the skies and see, observe how high the clouds are above you.
6 Donc, si tu pèches, atteins-tu le Très-Haut? Tu auras beau l’offenser, que peux-tu lui faire?	6 If you sin, how can you affect him? If you heap up crimes, what effect has it on him?

9 Les hommes crient sous le poids de l’oppression, ils appellent au secours quand les grands les oppriment.	9 They too groan under the weight of oppression, they cry for help under the tyranny of the mighty,
10 Mais disent-ils: “Où est le Dieu qui nous a faits, celui qui fait chanter les nuits,	10 but none of them thinks of saying, 'Where is God, my Maker, who makes glad songs ring out at night,
11 celui qui nous instruit par les bêtes de la terre et par l’oiseau du ciel nous livre la sagesse?”	11 who has made us more intel igent than wild animals wiser than birds in the sky?'
12 Voilà pourquoi ils crient et Dieu ne répond pas quand ils subissent les excès des méchants.	12 Cry they may, but get no answer, to be spared from the arrogance of the wicked.
