Seconda Epistola di Santo Paulo alli Corinti 1

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Paulo apostolo di Iesù Cristo per la volontà di Dio, e suo fratello Timoteo, alla Chiesa di Dio la quale è a Corinto, e a tutti li santi li quali son per la provincia di Acaia.	1 Paul, by the wil of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, and Timothy, our brother, to the church of God inCorinth and to al God's holy people in the whole of Achaia.
2 Grazia sia a voi e pace da Dio padre nostro, e dal Signore Iesù Cristo.	2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 E benedetto Dio, padre del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo, il quale è padre di misericordia, e Dio di tutta consolazione;	3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the merciful Father and the God who givesevery possible encouragement;
4 il quale consola noi in tutte le nostre tribulazioni, acciò che possiamo noi medesimi consolare coloro li quali son posti in ogni angustia, per quel confortamento per il quale noi siamo confortati da Dio.	4 he supports us in every hardship, so that we are able to come to the support of others, in everyhardship of theirs because of the encouragement that we ourselves receive from God.
5 Imperò che secondo che abbondano le passioni di Cristo in noi, così per Cristo abbonda la nostra consolazione.	5 For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow into our lives; so too does the encouragement we receive through Christ.
6 Ovver che siamo tribulati per vostra confortanza di salute, ovver che noi siamo confortati per vostro confortamento di salute, la quale si guadagna nella sofferenza di quelle medesime passioni le quali noi sostegniamo;	6 So if we have hardships to undergo, this wil contribute to your encouragement and your salvation; if wereceive encouragement, this is to gain for you the encouragement which enables you to bear with perseverancethe same sufferings as we do.
7 che la nostra speranza sia ferma per voi; e sappiate che secondo che voi siete compagni a sostenere la tribulazione, così sarete compagni nella consolazione.	7 So our hope for you is secure in the knowledge that you share the encouragement we receive, no lessthan the sufferings we bear.
8 Fratelli, noi volemo che voi sappiate della nostra tribulazione, la quale è fatta in Asia; chè sopra mensura siamo gravati, e sopra alla nostra forza, si ch' eziandio ci rincresce di vivere.	8 So in the hardships we underwent in Asia, we want you to be quite certain, brothers, that we wereunder extraordinary pressure, beyond our powers of endurance, so that we gave up al hope even of surviving.
9 Ma noi ricevemmo responsione della morte in noi medesimi, che non ci confidiamo di noi, ma abbiamo fidanza nel Signore il quale resuscita li morti;	9 In fact we were carrying the sentence of death within our own selves, so that we should be forced totrust not in ourselves but in God, who raises the dead.
10 il quale di tanti pericoli ci ha scampati; e avemo speranza in lui, che ancora ci liberarà,	10 He did save us from such a death and will save us -- we are relying on him to do so.
11 aiutando voi colle vostre orazioni, acciò che da persone di molti fatti siano rendute grazie a Dio, e per molti, del donamento che fatto è in noi.	11 Your prayer for us wil contribute to this, so that, for God's favour shown to us as the result of theprayers of so many, thanks too may be given by many on our behalf.
12 Certo la nostra gloria si è questa, la testimonianza della nostra coscienza, chè noi siamo conversati in questo mondo, non con saviezza carnale, ma con verità e con semplicità, nella grazia di Dio.	12 There is one thing that we are proud of, namely our conscientious conviction that we have alwaysbehaved towards everyone, and especial y towards you, with that unal oyed holiness that comes from God,relying not on human reasoning but on the grace of God.
13 Non scriviamo a voi altre cose, che quelle che voi cognoscete e leggete; e ho speranza che insino alla fine cognoscerete,	13 In our writing, there is nothing that you cannot read clearly and understand;
14 secondo che avete cognosciuto in parte, che noi siamo la vostra gloria, e voi la nostra, nel dì del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo.	14 and it is my hope that, just as you have already understood us partial y, so you wil understand fullythat you can be as proud of us as we shal be of you when the Day of our Lord Jesus comes.
15 E con questa fidanza voglio venire a voi in prima, perchè voi aveste la seconda grazia,	15 It was with this assurance that I had been meaning to come to you first, so that you would benefitdoubly;
16 e poi passare in Macedonia; e poi di Macedonia mi puosi in cuore ancora di venire a voi, perchè voi foste meco in Iudea.	16 both to visit you on my way to Macedonia, and then to return to you again from Macedonia, so thatyou could set me on my way to Judaea.
17 E volendo io fare queste cose, usai forse però levità? Or penso io quelle cose che io penso, secondo la carne, che sia appo me: sÌ È, e NON È?	17 Since that was my purpose, do you think I lightly changed my mind? Or that my plans are based onordinary human promptings and I have in my mind Yes, yes at the same time as No, no?
18 Ma il fedele Dio il sa, che la nostra parola, la quale fu in voi, non è in lui: [sÌ È e NON È].	18 As surely as God is trustworthy, what we say to you is not both Yes and No.
19 Sì, il figliuolo di Dio, Iesù Cristo, il quale è in voi predicato per me e per Silvano e per Timoteo, non fu (in lui) sì e NON, ma è in lui pur sì.	19 The Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was proclaimed to you by us, that is, by me and by Silvanus andTimothy, was never Yes-and-No; his nature is al Yes.
20 Quante furono le promissioni di Dio (padre), tutte furono in lui; e imperò per lui dicemo verità a lui, in nostra gloria.	20 For in him is found the Yes to al God's promises and therefore it is 'through him' that we answer'Amen' to give praise to God.
21 Il quale Dio conferma noi con voi in Cristo (salvatore), e unse noi,	21 It is God who gives us, with you, a sure place in Christ
22 e segnò noi (e benedisse), e diedeci il pegno del Spirito (Santo) nelli nostri cuori.	22 and has both anointed us and marked us with his seal, giving us as pledge the Spirit in our hearts.
23 Ma io chiamo Dio per testimonio nella mia anima, che io non venni a voi a Corinto, volendovi perdonare (e riguardare dalle brighe); non che noi (non) signoreggiamo alla vostra fede, ma siamo aintatori del vostro gaudio (di salute); chè voi state fermi nella fede.	23 By my life I cal on God to be my witness that it was only to spare you that I did not come to Corinthagain.
	24 We have no wish to lord it over your faith, but to work with you for your joy; for your stand in the faith isfirm.
