| 1 E avvenne nel sesto anno, nel VI mese, a dì quinto del mese; io sedeva nella mia casa, e li antichi di Giuda sedeano inanzi a me, e ivi cadde sopra me la mano di Dio. | 1 In the sixth year, in the sixth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house, with the elders of Judah sitting before me, the hand of the Lord GOD fell there upon me. |
| 2 E io vidi, ed ecco uno aspetto come di fuoco; dallo aspetto de' suoi lombi in giuso era fuoco; e da' lombi in suso era sì come aspetto di splendore, ed era come similitudine di transparente. | 2 Then I beheld, and, lo, a form that had the appearance of a man; below what appeared to be his loins it was fire, and above his loins it was like the appearance of brightness, like gleaming bronze. |
| 3 E mandata fuori la similitudine della mano pigliò me per lo riccio del mio capo, (e però doviamo sapere che fu ricciuto); e lo spirito mi levò tra il cielo e la terra; e portommi in Ierusalem nella visione di Dio, a lato all' uscio dentro ch' è inverso aquilone, dove era fatto lo idolo del zelo a provocare la indignazione. | 3 He put forth the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven, and brought me in visions of God to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the gateway of the inner court that faces north, where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy. |
| 4 E ivi era la gloria di Dio d' Israel, secondo la visione ch' io vidi nel campo. | 4 And behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, like the vision that I saw in the plain. |
| 5 E disse a me: o figliuolo d'uomo, alza li tuoi occhi alla via d'aquilone. E levai li occhi miei alla via d'aquilone; ed ecco dall' aquilone le porte dello altare, lo idolo del zelo in quello introito. | 5 Then he said to me, "Son of man, lift up your eyes now in the direction of the north." So I lifted up my eyes toward the north, and behold, north of the altar gate, in the entrance, was this image of jealousy. |
| 6 E disse a me: figliuolo d' uomo, che pensi tu? non vedi tu quello che fanno, le grandi abominazioni le quali la casa d' Israel fa qui, acciò ch' io mi parta dalla lunga dallo mio santuario? E ancora rivolto vedrai maggiori abominazioni. | 6 And he said to me, "Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel are committing here, to drive me far from my sanctuary? But you will see still greater abominations." |
| 7 E menommi all' uscio del cammino; e vidi, ed ecco che v'era uno forame nel parete. | 7 And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold, there was a hole in the wall. |
| 8 E disse a me: o figliuolo d' uomo, cava lo parete. E quando io ebbi cavato lo parete, apparì ivi uno uscio. | 8 Then said he to me, "Son of man, dig in the wall"; and when I dug in the wall, lo, there was a door. |
| 9 E disse a me: entra dentro, e vedi le abominazioni pessime, le quali questi fanno qui. | 9 And he said to me, "Go in, and see the vile abominations that they are committing here." |
| 10 Ed entrato dentro, vidi similitudine di bisce, ed eravi abominazione di animali; e tutti li idoli della casa d'Israel erano dipinti nel circuito dello parete per tutto. | 10 So I went in and saw; and there, portrayed upon the wall round about, were all kinds of creeping things, and loathsome beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel. |
| 11 E LXX uomini delli antichi d'Israel, e Iezonia, figliuolo di Safan, istava nel mezzo di quelli che istavano inanzi alla dipintura; e ciascuno avea lo turibolo nella mano sua, e lo vapore di nebbia si levava dello incenso. | 11 And before them stood seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, with Ja-azaniah the son of Shaphan standing among them. Each had his censer in his hand, and the smoke of the cloud of incense went up. |
| 12 E disse a me: o figliuolo d' uomo, certo bene vedi quello che li antichi d' Israel fanno nelle tenebre, ciascuno nel segreto luogo del suo letto; e' dicono: lo Signore non ci vede, lo Signore hae abbandonata la terra. | 12 Then he said to me, "Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, every man in his room of pictures? For they say, 'The LORD does not see us, the LORD has forsaken the land.'" |
| 13 E disse a me: ancora rivoltato vedrai (ancora) maggiori abominazioni che loro fanno. | 13 He said also to me, "You will see still greater abominations which they commit." |
| 14 E menommi per l'uscio della casa di Dio, ch' era inverso aquilone; e ivi erano femine che sedeano e piagneano Adonide, (e questo era uno loro amico di lussuria). | 14 Then he brought me to the entrance of the north gate of the house of the LORD; and behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz. |
| 15 E disse a me: certo bene hai veduto, figliuolo d' uomo; e ancora rivoltato vedrai abominazioni maggiori di queste. | 15 Then he said to me, "Have you seen this, O son of man? You will see still greater abominations than these." |
| 16 E menommi nel cammino della casa (ovvero dell' uscio) di Dio dentro; ed ecco, nell' uscio del tempio di Dio, tra lo luogo dove si vestiano li sacerdoti e l'altare, come XXV uomini; e aveano le spalle contro al tempio di Dio, e la faccia inverso l'oriente e adoravano dove si leva lo sole. | 16 And he brought me into the inner court of the house of the LORD; and behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men, with their backs to the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east, worshiping the sun toward the east. |
| 17 E disse a me: bene hai veduto, figliuolo d'uomo; or pare a te leggiera questa cosa alla casa di Giuda, acciò facessono queste abominazioni le quali hanno fatto qui, che riempiendo la terra di malvagità si sono rivolti a commovermi a ira? e appiccansi lo ramo (della palma dal capo insino) al naso. | 17 Then he said to me, "Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it too slight a thing for the house of Judah to commit the abominations which they commit here, that they should fill the land with violence, and provoke me further to anger? Lo, they put the branch to their nose. |
| 18 Adunque io farò nello mio furore; e non perdonerà lo mio occhio, e non averò misericordia; e quando con grande voce chiameranno alle mie orecchie, io non li esaudirò. | 18 Therefore I will deal in wrath; my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity; and though they cry in my ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them." |
