Ezechiele 21

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 E disse Iddio a me:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 O figliuolo d' uomo, poni la tua faccia a Ierusalem, e stilla alli santuarii, e profeta contro alla terra d' Israel.	2 'Son of man, turn to the right; utter your word towards the south, prophesy against the forest land ofthe Negeb.
3 Dirai alla terra d' Israel: questo dice lo Signore Iddio: ecco, io darò a te, e caccerò lo mio coltello della sua guaina, e ucciderò in te lo giusto e lo malvagio.	3 Say to the forest of Negeb, "Hear the word of Yahweh! The Lord Yahweh says this: Listen; I am aboutto kindle a fire in you which wil burn up every green tree in you as wel as every dry one; it wil be anunquenchable blaze and every face wil be scorched by it from the Negeb to the north.
4 Ma però ch' io uccisi in te lo giusto e l'empio, per questo uscirà lo mio coltello della sua guaina ad ogni carne, d' Austro insino ad Aquilone,	4 Al humanity wil see that it was I, Yahweh, who kindled it, and it wil not be extinguished." '
5 acciò che ogni carne sappia, ch' io Signore trassi lo mio coltello dalla guaina sanza rivocazione.	5 I said, 'Lord Yahweh, they say of me, "He does nothing but speak in riddles!"'
6 E tu, figliuolo d'uomo, piagni nella contrizione de' lombi, e piagni inanzi a loro nella amaritudine.	6 Then the word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
7 E quando averanno detto a te: per che gemi tu? dirai a loro: per l' udito, perciò che venne, e ogni cuore diventerà lasso, e tutte le mani saranno disciolte, e ogni spirito infermerà, e per tutte le ginocchia correrà l'acqua; ecco che viene, e sarà fatto, dice Iddio.	7 'Son of man, turn towards Jerusalem, utter your word towards the sanctuary and prophesy against theland of Israel.
8 E fu fatta la parola di Dio a me, dicendo:	8 Say to the land of Israel, "Yahweh says this: Now I am against you; I am about to unsheathe my swordand rid you of the upright and the wicked alike.
9 Figliuolo d' uomo, profeta, e dirai: questo dice lo Signore Iddio: lo coltello, [lo coltello è] acuto e limato.	9 Since I am going to rid you of upright and wicked alike, I shal unsheathe my sword against everyonealive, from the Negeb to the north,
10 Acciò che tagli le bestie è affilato: è limato acciò ch' egli risplenda; tu il quale muovi la verga (del regno, cioè lo Signore) del mio figliuolo, tagliasti ogni legno.	10 so that everyone alive wil know that I, Yahweh, am the one who has unsheathed my sword; it wil notgo back again."
11 E diedilo a piallare, acciò che si tenga in mano; quello coltello è acuto e limato nella mano dello uccidente.	11 'Son of man, groan as though your heart were breaking. Utter your bitter groans where they can seeyou.
12 O figliuolo d' uomo, grida e urla, però [che] questo è fatto nel popolo mio, questo in tutti i duchi d' Israel; quelli che aveano fuggito, allo coltello sono dati col popolo mio; però allusingalo sopra la coscia.	12 And if they say, "Why these groans?" reply, "Because of the news which is about to come, all hearts wil sink, al hands grow weak, all spirits grow faint and al knees turn to water. It is coming now, it is here!-declares Lord Yahweh." '
13 Però che provato è; e questo, quando averà rivolta la verga regale, e non sarà, dice Iddio Signore.	13 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
14 Adunque tu, figliuolo d' uomo, profeta, percuoti la mano alla mano, acciò che lo coltello s' addoppi e in tre doppi; questo è lo coltello di grande uccisione, lo quale li farà tutti ismarrire nell'animo,	14 'Son of man, prophesy. Say, "The Lord says this. Say: The sword, the sword has been sharpenedand polished,
15 e nel cuore languire, e moltiplicherà le rovine. In tutte le porte loro ho dato conturbazione di coltello acuto e limato, a risplendere a tagliamento.	15 sharpened for slaughter, polished to flash like lightning . . .
16 Arruota, e va a mano ritta o a mano manca, a qualunque tu hai appettito di riguardare.	16 He has had it polished to be wielded, this sword sharpened and polished to put in the slaughterer'shand!
17 E chiuderò la mano ritta alla mano manca, ed empierò la mia indignazione; o Signore hoe parlato.	17 Shout and wail, son of man, for it wil come on my people, on all the chief men of Israel doomed likemy people to the sword! So beat your breast,
18 E fue fatta la parola di Dio a me, dicendo:	18 for this wil be an ordeal . . . declares the Lord Yahweh.
19 Poni a te due (tue) vie, acciò che vegna lo coltello dello re di Babilonia; e amendue usciranno d'una terra; e piglierà colla mano la congettura, e congetturerà nel capo della via della cittade.	19 So prophesy, son of man, and clap your hands! Let the sword pass three times, that sword forvictims, that sword for a great victim, threatening them from every side!
20 E porrai la via acciò che venga lo coltello a Rabbat ch' è de' figliuoli d' Ammon, e a Giuda in Ierusalem armata.	20 To make hearts sink and make sure many fall, I have posted the slaughtering sword at every gate toflash like lightning, polished for slaughter.
21 E lo re di Babilonia istette nelle due vie, nel capo delle due vie, addomandante la indovinazione, mescolando le saette; e domandò li idoli, e consigliossi.	21 Be sharp, on the right, be ready on the left, whichever way your blade is needed!
22 E la indovinazione fu fatta dalla parte destra. sopra Ierusalem, acciò che ponga le bastie, per ch' elli apra la bocca nel tagliare, e lievi la voce in l'urlo, e ponga li bastioni contro alla porta, acciò che porti la terra per far l'aggere, acciò ch' edifichi le armadure.	22 I too shal clap my hands and sate my fury! I, Yahweh, have spoken." '
23 E sarà come consigliare indarno l'oracolo nelli occhi loro, e sarà come seguitare lo riposo ne' sabbati; ma egli si ricorderà della iniquitade a pigliare.	23 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
24 Però questo dice lo Signore Iddio: però che vi siete ricordati della iniquitade vostra, e rivelaste le vostre prevaricazioni, e apparveno li vostri peccati in tutte le vostre cogitazioni; perciò, dico, che vi siete ricordati, sarete presi con mano.	24 'Son of man, mark out two roads for the sword of the king of Babylon to come along, making both ofthem begin from the same country. Then put up a signpost, put it where the road leaves for the city,
25 Ma tu, sacrilego, empio duca d' Israel, dello qual è lo di venuto nel tempo della infinita iniquità,	25 trace the route which the sword should take for Rabbah-of-the-Ammonites, and for Judah, to thefortress of Jerusalem.
26 questo dice lo Signore Iddio: togli l'onore delli sacerdoti e la corona del principe; (quasi dica: portane via li sacerdoti e la corona del principe); or non è questa quella che sublimò l' umile, e umiliò lo levato in alto?	26 For the king of Babylon has halted at the fork where these two roads diverge, to take the omens. Hehas shaken the arrows, questioned the household gods, inspected the liver.
27 La iniquità, la iniquità, la iniquità ponerò io lei; e questo non è fatto, mentre che venga colui di cui è lo giudicio, e darollo a lui.	27 The lot marked 'Jerusalem' is in his right hand: there to set up battering-rams, give the word forslaughter, raise the war cry, level battering-rams against the gates, cast up earthworks, build entrenchments.
28 E tu, figliuolo d' uomo, profeta, e di': questo dice lo Signore Iddio ai figliuoli d' Ammon e allo loro vituperio; dirai: o spuntone, o spuntone, isguaìnati ad uccidere, lìmati acciò che tu uccida splenda;	28 The inhabitants wil believe that these omens are idle, for they have received sworn guarantees, buthe wil bring their guilt to mind and capture them.
29 conciosia cosa che ti paressono vane parole, e indovinassono le bugie, acciò che voi dèssi in su li colli de' malvagi feriti, lo cui dì verrà nel tempo della infinita iniquità.	29 And so the Lord Yahweh says this, "Since you have brought your guilt to mind by parading yourmisdeeds and flaunting your sins in everything you do: because you have drawn attention to yourselves, you willbe captured.
30 Ritorna nella tua guaina, nel luogo dove tu se' creato, io giudicherò te nella terra dove tu se' nato.	30 As for you, impious and wicked prince of Israel, whose doom is approaching to put an end to yourcrimes,
31 E verserò sopra te la mia indignazione; e soffierò in te il fuoco del mio furore, e darotti nelle mani delli uomini sciocchi, e di quelli che fàbbricano la morte.	31 the Lord Yahweh says this: They will take away your diadem and remove your crown. Everything wilbe changed; the low wil be raised and the high brought low!
32 Tu sarai cibo al fuoco, e lo tuo sangue sarà nel mezzo della terra, e tu sarai dato a dimentica mento; però ch' io Signore hoe parlato.	32 Ruin, ruin, I shal bring such ruin as never was before, until the rightful ruler comes, on whom I shalbestow it."
	33 'Son of man, prophesy and say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: In reply to the Ammonites and theirjeers, say: The sword, the sword is drawn for slaughter, polished to devour, to flash like lightning-
	34 while you have empty visions and consult lying omens-to cut the throats of the wicked, whose doomis approaching to put an end to their crimes.
	35 Put it back in the scabbard. The place where you were created, the land of your origin, wil be where Ijudge you.
	36 I shal vent my fury on you, breathe the fire of my rage against you and hand you over to barbarousmen whose trade is destruction.
	37 You wil be fuel for the fire, your blood wil flow through the country, you wil leave no memory behindyou; for I, Yahweh, have spoken!" '
