Baruch 5

1 O Ierusalem, spògliati la stola del pianto e del tuo tormento; e vèstiti di bellezza e di onore, lo quale è a te da Dio, in gloria sempiterna.	1 “ ‘Take off, O Jerusalem, the garment of your sorrow and troubles, and put on your beauty and the honor of that eternal glory, which you have from God.
2 Iddio ti circonderà come una scarsella di giustizia, e porrà al tuo capo la mitria dello eterno onore.	2 God will surround you with a double garment of justice, and he will set a crown on your head of everlasting honor.
3 Però che Iddio dimostrerà lo suo splendore in te [ad ognuno] lo quale è sotto lo cielo.	3 For God will reveal his splendor in you to all who are under heaven.
4 Lo tuo nome sarà nominato a te da Iddio in sempiterno; pace di giustizia e onore di pietade.	4 For your name will be given to you by God for eternity: the peace of justice and the honor of piety.
5 Lièvati suso, Ierusalem, e istà in alto, e ragguarda inverso oriente, e vedi li tuoi figliuoli ragunati d'oriente infino ad occidente, nella parola del Santo rallegrandosi dell' arricordamento di Dio. (Questo Santo s'intende lo profeta).	5 Arise, O Jerusalem, and stand in exaltation, and look around towards the east, and see your sons, gathering together, from the rising of the sun to the setting of the sun, by the word of the Holy One, rejoicing in the remembrance of God.
6 Però che uscirono da te menati colli piedi dalli nimici; ma lo Signore adducerà a te quelli, portati in onore come figliuoli del regno.	6 For they went out from you on foot, led by the enemies, but the Lord will lead them to you, being carried in honor like sons of the kingdom.
7 Però che Iddio ordinò, che i grandi monti si umiliassono, e le rupi grandi e sempiterne; e le valli riempiere in la egualità della terra, acciò che Israel vada diligentemente allo onore di Dio. (Ove s' intende per li monti, li superbi che si tengono grandi e alti, e poi caggiono; e per le rupi, i ricchi che credono istare sempremai, ed eglino sono fatti come le rupi, che sempre istanno in su lo cadere).	7 For God has resolved to humble every high mountain and the longstanding cliffs, and to fill up the steep valleys in order to level the ground, so that Israel may walk diligently in the honor of God.
8 E le selve e ogni [legno di] soavità d' Israel adombrò per lo comandamento di Dio.	8 Yet the woods and every sweet-smelling tree have provided shade for Israel by the commandment of God.
9 E Iddio adducerà Israel con giocondità nello lume della sua maestà, con misericordia e con giustizia, la quale è da lui.	9 For God will lead Israel with joy into the light of his majesty, with mercy and justice, which is from him.’ ”
