BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Iddio, delli Dei Signore, ha parlato; e chiamò la terra, da levante insino al ponente.	1 [For the choirmaster Of the sons of Korah Psalm] Hear this, all nations, listen, al who dwel on earth,
2 Da Sion è la bellezza del suo adornamento.	2 people high and low, rich and poor alike!
3 Iddio verrà manifestamente; il nostro Iddio, e non tacerà. Nel suo cospetto arderà il fuoco; e intorno a lui sarà la forte tempesta.	3 My lips have wisdom to utter, my heart good sense to whisper.
4 Di sopra chiamò il cielo, e la terra a dividere il suo popolo.	4 I listen careful y to a proverb, I set my riddle to the music of the harp.
5 Raunateli i suoi santi; i quali òrdinano il suo testamento sopra li sacrificii.	5 Why should I be afraid in times of trouble? Malice dogs me and hems me in.
6 E annunzieranno li cieli la sua giustizia; per che Iddio è giudice.	6 They trust in their wealth, and boast of the profusion of their riches.
7 Popolo mio, odi, e parlerò; Israel, e a te testificherò; io sono Iddio, tuo Iddio.	7 But no one can ever redeem himself or pay his own ransom to God,
8 Non ti riprenderò nelli tuoi sacrificii; ma gli tuoi sacrificii sempre sono nel mio cospetto.	8 the price for himself is too high; it can never be
9 Non torrò gli vitelli dalla tua casa, nè li becchi delle tue gregge.	9 that he wil live on for ever and avoid the sight of the abyss.
10 Per che mie sono tutte le bestie delle selve, gli animali de' monti e li bovi.	10 For he wil see the wise also die no less than the fool and the brute, and leave their wealth behind forothers.
11 Ho conosciuti tutti gli uccelli del cielo; ed è meco la bellezza del campo.	11 For ever no home but their tombs, their dwel ing-place age after age, though they gave their name towhole territories.
12 Se avrò fame, non tel dirò; egli è mio tutto il mondo, e la sua plenitudine.	12 In prosperity people lose their good sense, they become no better than dumb animals.
13 Mangerò io forse le carni de' tauri? ovver beverò il sangue de' becchi?	13 So they go on in their self-assurance, right up to the end they are content with their lot.Pause
14 A Dio sacrifica il sacrificio di laude; e all'Altissimo rendi i tuoi voti.	14 They are penned in Sheol like sheep, Death wil lead them to pasture, and those who are honest wilrule over them. In the morning al trace of them wil be gone, Sheol wil be their home.
15 E nel dì della tribulazione appella me; e libererò te, e tu mi onorificherai.	15 But my soul God wil ransom from the clutches of Sheol, and wil snatch me up.Pause
16 Ma disse Iddio al peccatore: il per che racconti le mie giustizie, e per la tua bocca togli il mio testamento?	16 Do not be overawed when someone gets rich, and lives in ever greater splendour;
17 Ma tu hai avuto in odio la disciplina; e hai gittato dopo te le mie parole.	17 when he dies he wil take nothing with him, his wealth wil not go down with him.
18 Se vedevi il latrone, con lui correvi; e con gli adulteri ponevi la tua parte.	18 Though he pampered himself while he lived -- and people praise you for looking after yourself-
19 La tua bocca ha abbondato di malizia; e la tua lingua ordinava gl' inganni.	19 he will go to join the ranks of his ancestors, who wil never again see the light.
20 Sedendo parlavi contra il tuo fratello, contra il figliuolo della tua madre ponevi scandalo; facesti queste cose, e ho taciuto.	20 In prosperity people lose their good sense, they become no better than dumb animals.
21 Pensasti iniquamente, che sarò simile a te; te riprenderò, e ordinerò (me) contra la tua faccia.
22 Voi, che vi dimenticate Iddio, intendete queste cose; chè quando rapisca', non sia chi libera.
23 Onorificherà me il sacrificio della laude: e ivi è la (mia) via, che li dimostrerò nel Salvatore di Dio.
