Ezra v'Nechemia (עזרא ונחמיה) - Esdra 1

STUTTGARTENSIA-DELITZSCH	NEW JERUSALEM
1 וּבִשְׁנַת אַחַת לְכֹורֶשׁ מֶלֶךְ פָּרַס לִכְלֹות דְּבַר־יְהוָה מִפִּי יִרְמְיָה הֵעִיר יְהוָה אֶת־רוּחַ כֹּרֶשׁ מֶלֶךְ־פָּרַס וַיַּעֲבֶר־קֹול בְּכָל־מַלְכוּתֹו וְגַם־בְּמִכְתָּב לֵאמֹר	1 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia -- to fulfil the word of Yahweh spoken through Jeremiah -Yahwehroused the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia to issue a proclamation and to have it publicly displayed throughout hiskingdom:
2 כֹּה אָמַר כֹּרֶשׁ מֶלֶךְ פָּרַס כֹּל מַמְלְכֹות הָאָרֶץ נָתַן לִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי הַשָּׁמָיִם וְהוּא־פָקַד עָלַי לִבְנֹות־לֹו בַיִת בִּירוּשָׁלִַם אֲשֶׁר בִּיהוּדָה	2 'Cyrus king of Persia says this, "Yahweh, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earthand has appointed me to build him a Temple in Jerusalem, in Judah.
3 מִי־בָכֶם מִכָּל־עַמֹּו יְהִי אֱלֹהָיו עִמֹּו וְיַעַל לִירוּשָׁלִַם אֲשֶׁר בִּיהוּדָה וְיִבֶן אֶת־בֵּית יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הוּא הָאֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר בִּירוּשָׁלִָם	3 Whoever among you belongs to the ful tal y of his people, may his God be with him! Let him go up toJerusalem, in Judah, and build the Temple of Yahweh, God of Israel, who is the God in Jerusalem.
4 וְכָל־הַנִּשְׁאָר מִכָּל־הַמְּקֹמֹות אֲשֶׁר הוּא גָר־שָׁם יְנַשְּׂאוּהוּ אַנְשֵׁי מְקֹמֹו בְּכֶסֶף וּבְזָהָב וּבִרְכוּשׁ וּבִבְהֵמָה עִם־הַנְּדָבָה לְבֵית הָאֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר בִּירוּשָׁלִָם	4 And let each survivor, wherever he lives, be helped by the people of his locality with silver, gold,equipment and riding beasts, as wel as voluntary offerings for the Temple of God which is in Jerusalem." '
5 וַיָּקוּמוּ רָאשֵׁי הָאָבֹות לִיהוּדָה וּבִנְיָמִן וְהַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם לְכֹל הֵעִיר הָאֱלֹהִים אֶת־רוּחֹו לַעֲלֹות לִבְנֹות אֶת־בֵּית יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר בִּירוּשָׁלִָם	5 Then the heads of families of Judah and of Benjamin, the priests and the Levites, in fact al whose spirithad been roused by God, prepared to go and rebuild the Temple of Yahweh in Jerusalem;
6 וְכָל־סְבִיבֹתֵיהֶם חִזְּקוּ בִידֵיהֶם בִּכְלֵי־כֶסֶף בַּזָּהָב בָּרְכוּשׁ וּבַבְּהֵמָה וּבַמִּגְדָּנֹות לְבַד עַל־כָּל־הִתְנַדֵּב׃ ס	6 and al their neighbours gave them every kind of help: silver, gold, equipment, riding beasts andvaluable presents, in addition to their voluntary offerings.
7 וְהַמֶּלֶךְ כֹּורֶשׁ הֹוצִיא אֶת־כְּלֵי בֵית־יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר הֹוצִיא נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּר מִירוּשָׁלִַם וַיִּתְּנֵם בְּבֵית אֱלֹהָיו	7 Furthermore, King Cyrus handed over the articles belonging to the Temple of Yahweh whichNebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and put in the temple of his god.
8 וַיֹּוצִיאֵם כֹּורֶשׁ מֶלֶךְ פָּרַס עַל־יַד מִתְרְדָת הַגִּזְבָּר וַיִּסְפְּרֵם לְשֵׁשְׁבַּצַּר הַנָּשִׂיא לִיהוּדָה	8 Cyrus king of Persia handed them over to Mithredath the treasurer who checked them out toSheshbazzar the prince of Judah.
9 וְאֵלֶּה מִסְפָּרָם אֲגַרְטְלֵי זָהָב שְׁלֹשִׁים אֲגַרְטְלֵי־כֶסֶף אָלֶף מַחֲלָפִים תִּשְׁעָה וְעֶשְׂרִים׃ ס	9 The inventory was as fol ows: thirty gold dishes; one thousand silver dishes, twenty-nine repaired;
10 כְּפֹורֵי זָהָב שְׁלֹשִׁים כְּפֹורֵי כֶסֶף מִשְׁנִים אַרְבַּע מֵאֹות וַעֲשָׂרָה כֵּלִים אֲחֵרִים אָלֶף׃ ס	10 thirty gold bowls; a thousand silver bowls, four hundred and ten damaged; one thousand other articles.
11 כָּל־כֵּלִים לַזָּהָב וְלַכֶּסֶף חֲמֵשֶׁת אֲלָפִים וְאַרְבַּע מֵאֹות הַכֹּל הֶעֱלָה שֵׁשְׁבַּצַּר עִם הֵעָלֹות הַגֹּולָה מִבָּבֶל לִירוּשָׁלִָם׃ פ	11 In al , five thousand four hundred articles of gold and silver. Sheshbazzar took al these with him whenhe led the exiles back from Babylon to Jerusalem.
