SMITH VAN DYKE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 وبعد السبت عند فجر اول الاسبوع جاءت مريم المجدلية ومريم الاخرى لتنظرا القبر.	1 After the Sabbath, and towards dawn on the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Marywent to visit the sepulchre.
2 واذا زلزلة عظيمة حدثت. لان ملاك الرب نزل من السماء وجاء ودحرج الحجر عن الباب وجلس عليه.	2 And suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, cameand rol ed away the stone and sat on it.
3 وكان منظره كالبرق ولباسه ابيض كالثلج.	3 His face was like lightning, his robe white as snow.
4 فمن خوفه ارتعد الحراس وصاروا كاموات.	4 The guards were so shaken by fear of him that they were like dead men.
5 فاجاب الملاك وقال للمرأتين لا تخافا انتما. فاني اعلم انكما تطلبان يسوع المصلوب.	5 But the angel spoke; and he said to the women, 'There is no need for you to be afraid. I know you arelooking for Jesus, who was crucified.
6 ليس هو ههنا لانه قام كما قال. هلم انظرا الموضع الذي كان الرب مضطجعا فيه.	6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said he would. Come and see the place where he lay,
7 واذهبا سريعا قولا لتلاميذه انه قد قام من الاموات. ها هو يسبقكم الى الجليل. هناك ترونه. ها انا قد قلت لكما.	7 then go quickly and tel his disciples, "He has risen from the dead and now he is going ahead of you toGalilee; that is where you wil see him." Look! I have told you.'
8 فخرجتا سريعا من القبر بخوف وفرح عظيم راكضتين لتخبرا تلاميذه.	8 Fil ed with awe and great joy the women came quickly away from the tomb and ran to tel his disciples.
9 وفيما هما منطلقتان لتخبرا تلاميذه اذا يسوع لاقاهما وقال سلام لكما. فتقدمتا وامسكتا بقدميه وسجدتا له.	9 And suddenly, coming to meet them, was Jesus. 'Greetings,' he said. And the women came up to himand, clasping his feet, they did him homage.
10 فقال لهما يسوع لا تخافا. اذهبا قولا لاخوتي ان يذهبوا الى الجليل وهناك يرونني	10 Then Jesus said to them, 'Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers that they must leave for Galilee;there they wil see me.'
11 وفيما هما ذاهبتان اذا قوم من الحراس جاءوا الى المدينة واخبروا رؤساء الكهنة بكل ما كان.	11 Now while they were on their way, some of the guards went off into the city to tell the chief priests althat had happened.
12 فاجتمعوا مع الشيوخ وتشاوروا واعطوا العسكر فضة كثيرة	12 These held a meeting with the elders and, after some discussion, handed a considerable sum ofmoney to the soldiers
13 قائلين. قولوا ان تلاميذه أتوا ليلا وسرقوه ونحن نيام.	13 with these instructions, 'This is what you must say, "His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep."
14 واذا سمع ذلك عند الوالي فنحن نستعطفه ونجعلكم مطمئنين.	14 And should the governor come to hear of this, we undertake to put things right with him ourselvesand to see that you do not get into trouble.'
15 فاخذوا الفضة وفعلوا كما علّموهم. فشاع هذا القول عند اليهود الى هذا اليوم	15 So they took the money and carried out their instructions, and to this day that is the story among theJews.
16 واما الاحد عشر تلميذا فانطلقوا الى الجليل الى الجبل حيث امرهم يسوع.	16 Meanwhile the eleven disciples set out for Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had arranged tomeet them.
17 ولما رأوه سجدوا له ولكن بعضهم شكّوا.	17 When they saw him they fell down before him, though some hesitated.
18 فتقدم يسوع وكلمهم قائلا. دفع اليّ كل سلطان في السماء وعلى الارض.	18 Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given tome.
19 فاذهبوا وتلمذوا جميع الامم وعمدوهم باسم الآب والابن والروح القدس.	19 Go, therefore, make disciples of al nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Sonand of the Holy Spirit,
20 وعلموهم ان يحفظوا جميع ما اوصيتكم به. وها انا معكم كل الايام الى انقضاء الدهر. آمين	20 and teach them to observe al the commands I gave you. And look, I am with you always; yes, to theend of time.'
