1 Oracolo sulla valle della Visione. Che hai dunque da salire tutta quanta sulle terrazze?	1 Oracle of the Valley of Vision: What is the matter with you now, that you have gone up, all of you, to the housetops,
2 Tu, piena di strepito, città tumultuante, città gaudente? I tuoi trafitti non sono stati trafitti di spada e i tuoi morti non sono stati uccisi in battaglia.	2 O city full of noise and chaos, O wanton town! Your slain are not slain with the sword, nor killed in battle.
3 Tutti i tuoi capi han preso insieme la fuga, senza un tiro d'arco sono stati fatti prigionieri, tutti i tuoi prodi sono stati catturati insieme, o sono fuggiti lontano.	3 All your leaders fled away together, fled afar off; All who were in you were captured together, captured without the use of a bow.
4 Perciò dico: "Ritiratevi da me, che io pianga amaramente, non vogliate consolarmi della rovina della figlia del mio popolo!".	4 At this I say: Turn away from me, let me weep bitterly; Do not try to comfort me for the ruin of the daughter of my people.
5 Perché è un giorno di terrore, di distruzione e di confusione da parte del Signore, Dio degli eserciti. Nella valle della Visione il muro è abbattuto e si grida verso i monti.	5 It is a day of panic, rout and confusion, from the Lord, the GOD of hosts, in the Valley of Vision. Walls crash; they cry for help to the mountains.
6 Elam prende l'arco, Aram monta sui cavalli, Kir scopre il suo scudo.	6 Elam takes up the quivers, Aram mounts the horses, and Kir uncovers the shields.
7 Le tue valli più scelte abbondano di carri, e i cavalieri sono disposti alle porte.	7 Your choice valleys are filled with chariots, and horses are posted at the gates,

11 Avete costruito un serbatoio fra i due muri, per le acque dell'antica piscina, e non avete riguardato verso colui che è l'autore, né avete visto colui che da tempo ha preparato tutto questo.	11 you made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. 12 Il Signore, Dio degli eserciti, vi chiamava in quel giorno a piangere e lamentarvi, a tagliarvi i capelli ed a cingere il sacco.	12 On that day the Lord, the GOD of hosts, called on you To weep and mourn, to shave your head and put on sackcloth.
13 Invece ecco allegria e gioia, uccisione di bestiame e immolazione di pecore; si mangia carne e si beve vino: "Mangiamo e beviamo perché domani moriremo!".	13 But look! you feast and celebrate, you slaughter oxen and butcher sheep, You eat meat and drink wine: "Eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!"
14 Il Signore degli eserciti s'è fatto intendere alle mie orecchie: "Questa vostra colpa non sarà espiata, finché non sarete morti", dice il Signore, Dio degli eserciti.	14 This reaches the ears of the LORD of hosts-- You shall not be pardoned this wickedness till you die, says the Lord, the GOD of hosts.
15 Così parla il Signore Dio degli eserciti: Su, rècati da questo ministro, da Sebnà, il maggiordomo.	15 Thus says the Lord, the GOD of hosts: Up, go to that official, Shebna, master of the palace,
16 "Che cosa possiedi qui, e chi hai qui, che ti tagli qui un sepolcro?". Si taglia un sepolcro in alto e si scava nella rupe la dimora.	16 Who has hewn for himself a sepulcher on a height and carved his tomb in the rock: "What are you doing here, and what people have you here, that here you have hewn for yourself a tomb?"
17 Ecco, il Signore con un lancio potente, ti getta lontano e ti rotola sottosopra.	17 The LORD shall hurl you down headlong, mortal man! He shall grip you firmly
18 Ti avvoltola ben bene e ti getta come una palla sopra un ampio terreno. Là morirai, e là spariranno i tuoi cocchi gloriosi, o ignominia del palazzo del tuo signore!	18 And roll you up and toss you like a ball into an open land To perish there, you and the chariots you glory in, you disgrace to your master's house!
19 Ti caccerò dal tuo posto e ti strapperò dalla tua posizione.	19 I will thrust you from your office and pull you down from your station.
20 In quel giorno chiamerò il mio servo, Eliakìm, figlio di Chelkìa.	20 On that day I will summon my servant Eliakim, son of Hilkiah;
21 Lo rivestirò con la tua tunica, lo stringerò con la tua cintura e rimetterò nelle sue mani la tua autorità. Sarà un padre per gli abitanti di Gerusalemme e per la casa di Giuda.	21 I will clothe him with your robe, and gird him with your sash, and give over to him your authority. He shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
22 Gli porrò sull'omero la chiave della casa di Davide, aprirà e nessuno potrà chiudere; chiuderà e nessuno potrà aprire.	22 I will place the key of the House of David on his shoulder; when he opens, no one shall shut, when he shuts, no one shall open.
23 Lo fisserò come un chiodo in un luogo sicuro e sarà un trono di gloria per la casa del padre suo.	23 I will fix him like a peg in a sure spot, to be a place of honor for his family;
24 A lui sarà sospesa tutta la gloria della casa del padre suo, germogli e rampolli, tutto il piccolo vasellame, dalle coppe fino alle anfore di ogni specie.	24 On him shall hang all the glory of his family: descendants and offspring, all the little dishes, from bowls to jugs.
25 In quel giorno, oracolo del Signore degli eserciti, il chiodo infisso in luogo sicuro cederà, si spezzerà, cadrà e si infrangerà il carico che vi era sopra, perché il Signore ha parlato.	25 On that day, says the LORD of hosts, the peg fixed in a sure spot shall give way, break off and fall, and the weight that hung on it shall be done away with; for the LORD has spoken.
