1 And they reported to David, saying, “Behold, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah, and they are plundering the grain stores.”	1 Απηγγειλαν δε προς τον Δαβιδ, λεγοντες, Ιδου, οι Φιλισταιοι πολεμουσιν εν Κεειλα και διαρπαζουσι τα αλωνια.
2 Therefore, David consulted the Lord, saying, “Shall I go and strike down these Philistines?” And the Lord said to David, “Go, and you shall strike down the Philistines, and you shall save Keilah.”	2 Και ηρωτησεν ο Δαβιδ τον Κυριον, λεγων, Να υπαγω και να παταξω τους Φιλισταιους τουτους; Και ειπεν ο Κυριος προς τον Δαβιδ, Υπαγε και παταξον τους Φιλισταιους και σωσον την Κεειλα.
3 And the men who were with David said to him, “Behold, we continue in fear here in Judea; how much more so, if we go into Keilah against the troops of the Philistines?”	3 Και ειπον οι ανδρες του Δαβιδ προς αυτον, Ιδου, ημεις ενταυθα εν τη Ιουδαια φοβουμεθα? ποσω δε μαλλον, εαν υπαγωμεν εις Κεειλα εναντιον των στρατευματων των Φιλισταιων;
4 Therefore, David consulted the Lord again. And responding, he said to him: “Rise up, and go into Keilah. For I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.”	4 Και ηρωτησε παλιν ο Δαβιδ εκ δευτερου τον Κυριον. Και απεκριθη προς αυτον ο Κυριος και ειπε, Σηκωθητι, καταβα εις Κεειλα? διοτι θελω παραδωσει τους Φιλισταιους εις την χειρα σου.
5 Therefore, David and his men went into Keilah. And they fought against the Philistines, and they took away their cattle, and they struck them with a great slaughter. And David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.	5 Τοτε ηλθεν ο Δαβιδ και οι ανδρες αυτου εις Κεειλα, και επολεμησε προς τους Φιλισταιους και ελαβε τα κτηνη αυτων και επαταξεν αυτους εν σφαγη μεγαλη. Και εσωσεν ο Δαβιδ τους κατοικους της Κεειλα.
6 And in that time, when Abiathar, the son of Ahimelech, was in exile with David, he had descended to Keilah, having an ephod with him.	6 Οτε δε Αβιαθαρ ο υιος του Αχιμελεχ εφυγε προς τον Δαβιδ εις Κεειλα, αυτος ειχε καταβη με εφοδ εν τη χειρι αυτου.
7 Then it was reported to Saul that David had gone to Keilah. And Saul said: “The Lord has delivered him into my hands. For he is enclosed, having entered into a city which has gates and bars.”	7 Και απηγγελθη προς τον Σαουλ οτι ηλθεν ο Δαβιδ εις Κεειλα. Και ειπεν ο Σαουλ, Ο Θεος παρεδωκεν αυτον εις την χειρα μου? διοτι απεκλεισθη, εισελθων εις πολιν εχουσαν πυλας και μοχλους.
8 And Saul instructed all the people to descend in order to fight against Keilah, and to besiege David and his men.	8 Και συνεκαλεσεν ο Σαουλ παντα τον λαον εις πολεμον, δια να καταβη εις Κεειλα, να πολιορκηση τον Δαβιδ και τους ανδρας αυτου.
9 And when David had realized that Saul had secretly prepared evil against him, he said to Abiathar, the priest, “Bring the ephod.”	9 Και εμαθεν ο Δαβιδ οτι ο Σαουλ εμηχανευετο κακον εναντιον αυτου? και ειπε προς τον Αβιαθαρ τον ιερεα, Φερε ενταυθα το εφοδ.
10 And David said: “O Lord God of Israel, your servant has heard a report that Saul is planning to go to Keilah, so that he may overturn the city because of me.	10 Και ειπεν ο Δαβιδ, Κυριε Θεε του Ισραηλ, μετα βεβαιοτητος ηκουσεν ο δουλος σου οτι ο Σαουλ ζητει να ελθη εις Κεειλα, δια να εξολοθρευση την πολιν εξ αιτιας μου?
11 Will the men of Keilah deliver me into his hands? And will Saul descend, just as your servant has heard? O Lord God of Israel, reveal to your servant.” And the Lord said, “He will descend.”	11 θελουσι με παραδωσει εις αυτον οι ανδρες της Κεειλα; θελει καταβη ο Σαουλ, καθως ηκουσεν ο δουλος σου; Κυριε Θεε του Ισραηλ, φανερωσον, δεομαι, προς τον δουλον σου. Και ειπεν ο Κυριος, Θελει καταβη.
12 And David said, “Will the men of Keilah deliver me, and the men who are with me, into the hands of Saul?” And the Lord said, “They will deliver you.”	12 Ειπε παλιν ο Δαβιδ, Θελουσι παραδωσει οι ανδρες της Κεειλα εμε και τους ανδρας μου εις την χειρα του Σαουλ; Και ειπεν ο Κυριος, Θελουσι παραδωσει.
13 Therefore, David, and his men of about six hundred, rose up, and, departing from Keilah, they wandered here and there, aimlessly. And it was reported to Saul that David had fled from Keilah, and was saved. For this reason, he chose not to go out.	13 Τοτε ο Δαβιδ και οι ανδρες αυτου, εως εξακοσιοι, εσηκωθησαν και εξηλθον απο Κεειλα και υπηγον οπου ηδυναντο. Και απηγγελθη προς τον Σαουλ, οτι διεσωθη ο Δαβιδ απο Κεειλα? οθεν απεσχε του να εξελθη.
14 Then David stayed in the desert, in very strong places. And he stayed on a mount in the wilderness of Ziph, on a shady mount. Nevertheless, Saul was seeking him every day. But the Lord did not deliver him into his hands.	14 Ο δε Δαβιδ εκαθησεν εν τη ερημω, εν τοποις οχυροις, και εμενεν επι τινος ορους εν τη ερημω Ζιφ. Και αυτον εζητει ο Σαουλ πασας τας ημερας? ο Θεος ομως δεν παρεδωκεν αυτον εις την χειρα αυτου.
15 And David saw that Saul had gone out, so that he might seek his life. Now David was in the desert of Ziph, in the woods.	15 Και ειδεν ο Δαβιδ οτι εξηλθεν ο Σαουλ δια να ζητη την ζωην αυτου και ητο ο Δαβιδ εν τη ερημω Ζιφ, εντος του δασους.
16 And Jonathan, the son of Saul, rose up and went to David in the woods, and he strengthened his hands in God. And he said to him:	16 Τοτε εσηκωθη Ιωναθαν, ο υιος του Σαουλ, και υπηγε προς τον Δαβιδ εις το δασος, και ενισχυσε την χειρα αυτου εν τω Θεω.
17 “Do not be afraid. For the hand of my father, Saul, will not find you. And you shall reign over Israel. And I will be second to you. And even my father knows this.”	17 Και ειπε προς αυτον, Μη φοβου? διοτι δεν θελει σε ευρει η χειρ Σαουλ του πατρος μου? και συ θελεις βασιλευσει επι τον Ισραηλ, και εγω θελω εισθαι δευτερος σου? μαλιστα και Σαουλ ο πατηρ μου εξευρει τουτο.
18 Therefore, they both struck a pact before the Lord. And David stayed in the woods. But Jonathan returned to his house.	18 Και εκαμον αμφοτεροι συνθηκην ενωπιον του Κυριου? και εκαθητο ο Δαβιδ εντος του δασους, ο δε Ιωναθαν ανεχωρησεν εις τον οικον αυτου.
19 Then the Ziphites ascended to Saul at Gibeah, saying: “Behold, is not David hidden with us in very secure places in the woods on the hill of Hachilah, which is to the right of the desert?	19 Ανεβησαν δε οι Ζιφαιοι προς τον Σαουλ εις Γαβαα, λεγοντες, Δεν ειναι κεκρυμμενος ο Δαβιδ εις ημας εν οχυρωμασι εντος του δασους, επι του βουνου Εχελα, του προς τα δεξια Γεσιμων;
20 Now therefore, if your soul has desired to descend, then descend. Then it will be for us to deliver him into the hands of the king.”	20 τωρα λοιπον, βασιλευ, καταβα, καθ' ολην την επιθυμιαν της ψυχης σου εις το να καταβης? και ημων εργον θελει εισθαι να παραδωσωμεν αυτον εις την χειρα του βασιλεως.
21 And Saul said: “You have been blessed by the Lord. For you have grieved for my situation.	21 Και ειπεν ο Σαουλ, Ευλογημενοι σεις παρα Κυριου, διοτι ελαβετε συμπαθειαν προς εμε?
22 Therefore, I beg you, go forth, and prepare diligently, and act carefully. And consider the place where his foot may be, and who may have seen him there. For he thinks, concerning me, that I craftily plan treachery against him.	22 υπαγετε λοιπον, βεβαιωθητε ακριβεστερα και μαθετε και ιδετε τον τοπον αυτου, που κρυπτεται, τις ειδεν αυτον εκει? διοτι μοι ειπον οτι μηχανευεται πανουργιας?
23 Consider and seek out all his hiding places, in which he may be concealed. And return to me with certainty about the matter, so that I may go with you. But if he would even press himself into the earth, I will search him out, amid all the thousands of Judah.”	23 ιδετε λοιπον και μαθετε εν τινι εκ παντων των αποκρυφων τοπων ειναι κεκρυμμενος, και επιστρεψατε προς εμε αφου βεβαιωθητε? και θελω υπαγει με σας? και εαν ηναι εν τη γη ταυτη, βεβαιως θελω εξιχνιασει αυτον μεταξυ πασων των χιλιαδων του Ιουδα.
24 And rising up, they went to Ziph before Saul. But David and his men were in the desert of Maon, in the plain to the right of Jeshimon.	24 Και εσηκωθησαν και υπηγον εις Ζιφ προ του Σαουλ? ο Δαβιδ ομως και οι ανδρες αυτου ησαν εν τη ερημω Μαων, εν τη πεδιαδι κατα τα δεξια του Γεσιμων.
25 Then Saul and his allies went to seek him. And this was reported to David. And immediately, he descended to the rock, and he moved about in the desert of Maon. And when Saul had heard of it, he pursued David in the desert of Maon.	25 Υπηγε δε ο Σαουλ και οι ανδρες αυτου να ζητησωσιν αυτον. Και απηγγελθη τουτο προς τον Δαβιδ? οθεν κατεβη εις την πετραν και εκαθητο εν τη ερημω Μαων. Και ακουσας ο Σαουλ, ετρεξε κατοπιν του Δαβιδ εις την ερημον Μαων.
26 And Saul went to one side of the mountain. But David and his men were on the other side of the mountain. Then David was despairing that he would be able to escape from the face of Saul. And Saul and his men enclosed David and his men in the manner of a crown, so that they might capture them.	26 Και ο μεν Σαουλ επορευετο κατα τουτο το μερος του ορους, ο δε Δαβιδ και οι ανδρες αυτου κατ' εκεινο το μερος του ορους? και εσπευσεν ο Δαβιδ να φυγη απο προσωπου του Σαουλ? πλην ο Σαουλ και οι ανδρες αυτου περιεκυκλωσαν τον Δαβιδ και τους ανδρας αυτου, δια να συλλαβωσιν αυτους.
27 And a messenger came to Saul, saying, “Hurry and come, because the Philistines have poured themselves out upon the land.”	27 Ηλθε δε μηνυτης προς τον Σαουλ, λεγων, Σπευσον και ελθε, διοτι οι Φιλισταιοι εφωρμησαν εις την γην.
28 Therefore, Saul turned back, ceasing in the pursuit of David, and he traveled to meet the Philistines. For this reason, they called that place, the Rock of Division.	28 Οθεν επεστρεψεν ο Σαουλ απο του να διωκη κατοπιν του Δαβιδ, και υπηγεν εις συναντησιν των Φιλισταιων? δια τουτο ωνομασαν εκεινον τον τοπον, Σελα-αμμαλεκωθ.
	29 24-1 24-1 Ανεβη δε ο Δαβιδ εκειθεν και εκαθησεν εν οχυροις τοποις της Εν-γαδδι.
