1 For this reason, it is necessary for us to observe more thoroughly the things that we have heard, lest we let them slip away.	1 Per la qual cosa molto ci conviene porre mente a quelle cose le quali avemo udito, chè per la ventura non transcorriamo presto.
2 For if a word that was spoken through the Angels has been made firm, and every transgression and disobedience has received the recompense of a just retribution,	2 Chè se la parola, che fatta è per li angeli, è ferma, e se ogni prevaricamento e ogni inobbedienza riceverà giusto guiderdone secondo la sua mercede;
3 in what way might we escape, if we neglect such a great salvation? For though initially it had begun to be described by the Lord, it was confirmed among us by those who heard him,	3 come potremo fuggire, se noi non averemo cura di così grande salute? La qual ebbe cominciamento d' essere annunziata per il Signore a coloro che l'udirono (e intesero), e in noi fu confermata,
4 with God testifying to it by signs and wonders, and by various miracles, and by the pouring out of the Holy Spirit, in accord with his own will.	4 testimoniandola Dio con miracoli e con li dimostramenti e con molte virtù e con donamenti di Spirito secondo la sua volontà.
5 For God did not subject the future world, about which we are speaking, to the Angels.	5 Veramente Dio non sottomise alli angeli il mondo che dee venire, del quale noi parliamo.
6 But someone, in a certain place, has testified, saying: “What is man, that you are mindful of him, or the Son of man, that you visit him?	6 E uno sì testimonia in un luogo della (scrittura del salterio), e dice: (o Dio) chi è l' uomo, che tu ti ricordi di lui, ovver il figliuolo dell' uomo, che tu il visiti?
7 You have reduced him to a little less than the Angels. You have crowned him with glory and honor, and you have set him over the works of your hands.	7 Tu [il] facesti uno poco minore che gli angeli, e l' hai coronato di gloria e di onore, e ordinasti lui sopra l' opere delle tue mani.
8 You have subjected all things under his feet.” For in as much as he has subjected all things to him, he has left nothing not subject to him. But in the present time, we do not yet perceive that all things have been made subject to him.	8 E tutte le cose ponesti sotto alli suoi piedi. In quello che dice, che tutte le cose sottopose a lui, sì dimostra a noi, che niente lasciò che non gli sottomettesse; e noi vedemo che ancora non son tutte le cose sottoposte a lui.
9 Yet we understand that Jesus, who was reduced to a little less than the Angels, was crowned with glory and honor because of his Passion and death, in order that, by the grace of God, he might taste death for all.	9 Ma vedemo che quelli ch' è un poco minorato. degli angeli, Iesù (secondo l'umanità), ch' egli per la passione della sua morte sì è coronato di gloria e d'onore; imperò che per grazia di Dio per tutti volse assaggiare la morte.
10 For it was fitting for him, because of whom and through whom all things exist, who had led many children into glory, to complete the authorship of their salvation through his Passion.	10 Per tutti convenia essere consumato per passione di morte quelli, per il quale e dal quale tutte le cose furono fatte; il quale molti figliuoli hae menati in gloria, accrescitore della salute loro.
11 For he who sanctifies, and those who are sanctified, are all from One. For this reason, he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying:	11 Veramente quelli che santifica, e quelli che son santi, tutti procedono da uno. Per la qual cosa non si vergogna di chiamare li suoi eletti, fratelli, dicendo:
12 “I will announce your name to my brothers. In the midst of the Church, I will praise you.”	12 Io annunziarò il tuo nome alli fratelli miei: e nel mezzo della Chiesa loro lodarò te.
13 And again: “I will be faithful in him.” And again: “Behold, I and my children, whom God has given to me.”	13 E ancora dice: io sarò confidente in quello. E ancora dice: ecco li fanciulli, li quali mi diede Dio.
14 Therefore, because children have a common flesh and blood, he himself also, in like manner, has shared in the same, so that through death, he might destroy him who held the dominion of death, that is, the devil,	14 Adunque, però che questi figliuoli s' accomunarono alla carne e al sangue, ed egli simigliantemente si fece partecipe con essi, acciò che per la morte distruggesse colui il quale avea signorìa della morte, cioè il diavolo,
15 and so that he might free those who, through the fear of death, had been condemned to servitude throughout their entire life.	15 e per liberare coloro li quali, per paura della morte, per tutta la loro vita erano dati a servitù.
16 For at no time did he take hold of the Angels, but instead he took hold of the offspring of Abraham.	16 Per niuno tempo prese li angeli, ma prese il seme d'Abraam.
17 Therefore, it is fitting for him to be made similar to his brothers in all things, so that he might become a merciful and faithful High Priest before God, in order that he might bring forgiveness to the offenses of the people.	17 Onde per tutte le cose si doveva fare simigliante alli suoi fratelli, chè fosse misericordioso, e pontefice fedele inanzi a Dio, per perdonare le peccata.
18 For in as much as he himself has suffered and has been tempted, he also is able to assist those who are tempted.	18 Veramente in quello ch' egli fu passionato e tentato, in quello ora è potente d'aiutare a coloro che son tentati.
