Galatians 4

1 But I say that, during the time an heir is a child, he is no different from a servant, even though he is the owner of everything.	1 E dicovi, che quanto tempo l' erede è piccolo, non è disguagliato dal servo, con ciò sia ch' egli sia signore d'ogni cosa;
2 For he is under tutors and caretakers, until the time which was predetermined by the father.	2 anzi sta, insino a quello tempo che fu ordinato dal (suo) padre, sotto il tutore suo e curatore.
3 So also we, when we were children, were subservient to the influences of the world.	3 E così noi, quando eravamo piccoli (di spirito), sotto li elementi di questo mondo eravamo posti a servire.
4 But when the fullness of time arrived, God sent his Son, formed from a woman, formed under the law,	4 E dopo che venne il compimento del tempo, Dio mandò il suo Figliuolo, nato di femina, posto sotto la legge
5 so that he might redeem those who were under the law, in order that we might receive the adoption of sons.	5 per ricomperare coloro ch' erano sotto la legge, e perchè ricevessimo adottamento (e desiderio) di figliuoli.
6 Therefore, because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying out: “Abba, Father.”	6 E imperò che siete figliuoli di Dio, Dio mandò il Spirito del suo Figliuolo nelli cuori vostri, il quale chiamò: Abba, Padre.
7 And so now he is not a servant, but a son. But if he is a son, then he is also an heir, through God.	7 Adunque già non è servo, ma è figliuolo; e s'è figliuolo, è erede per Dio.
8 But then, certainly, while ignorant of God, you served those who, by nature, are not gods.	8 E voi in qua dietro, non conoscendo Dio, serviste a coloro li quali naturalmente non erano dii.
9 But now, since you have known God, or rather, since you have been known by God: how can you turn away again, to weak and destitute influences, which you desire to serve anew?	9 Ma ora, quando conoscete Dio, anzi siete conosciuti da Dio, ancora vi rivolgete a quelli elementi fragili e poveri, alli quali volete servire,
10 You serve the days, and months, and times, and years.	10 osservando (e venerando) certi mesi e dì, e tempi e anni?
11 I am afraid for you, lest perhaps I may have labored in vain among you.	11 E ho paura, ch' io non abbia durata fatica in vano in voi.
12 Brothers, I beg you. Be as I am. For I, too, am like you. You have not injured me at all.	12 Voglio siate secondo che son io, e io voglio essere come voi. Fratelli, priegovi: niente m' avete fatto danno.
13 But you know that, in the weakness of the flesh, I have preached the Gospel to you for a long time, and that your trials are in my flesh.	13 E sapete che per infirmità della carne evangelizzai a voi già primieramente, e non schivaste la vostra tentazione nella mia carne,
14 You did not despise or reject me. But instead, you accepted me like an Angel of God, even like Christ Jesus.	14 e non mi rigettaste; ma secondo che angelo di Dio ricevestemi, e secondo che Iesù Cristo.
15 Therefore, where is your happiness? For I offer to you testimony that, if it could be done, you would have plucked out your own eyes and would have given them to me.	15 Adunque dov'è la beatitudine vostra? Bene posso rendere testimonianza di voi, che se potesse essere fatto (e fosse fatto convenevole), voi vi avreste tratti gli occhi, e avrestigli a me dati.
16 So then, have I become your enemy by telling you the truth?	16 Adunque ora son fatto vostro nemico, dicendo a voi il vero?
17 They are not imitating you well. And they are willing to exclude you, so that you might imitate them.	17 Sappiate che non v' amano bene (quelli che vi fanno fare questo), e voglionvi ingannare, perchè voi andiate per la loro via.
18 But be imitators of what is good, always in a good way, and not only when I am present with you.	18 Ma pregovi che seguitate il bene nel bene sempre, e non pur quando io son con voi,
19 My little sons, I am giving birth to you again, until Christ is formed in you.	19 figliuoli miei, li quali io ancora parturisco, insino a tanto che Cristo si reformi in voi.
20 And I would willingly be present with you, even now. But I would alter my voice: for I am ashamed of you.	20 Vorrei essere ora con voi, e muterei la mia voce; imperò che io mi vergogno di voi.
21 Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, have you not read the law?	21 Ditemi voi, che volete essere (e stare) sotto la legge: non leggeste voi la legge?
22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons: one by a servant woman, and one by a free woman.	22 Chè certamente egli è scritto, che Abraam ebbe due figliuoli; uno della ancilla, e uno della mogliere ch' era libera.
23 And he who was of the servant was born according to the flesh. But he who was of the free woman was born by the promise.	23 Ma quello dell' ancilla fu nato secondo la carne; e quello della mogliere legittima nacque secondo la promissione.
24 These things are said through an allegory. For these represent the two testaments. Certainly the one, on Mount Sinai, gives birth unto servitude, which is Hagar.	24 Le quali cose son dette per allegoria (e intendonsi spiritualmente). Per questi due figliuoli s' intendono due testamenti. E l' uno certo fu nel monte di Sina; il quale è Agar, che genera in servitute.
25 For Sinai is a mountain in Arabia, which is related to the Jerusalem of the present time, and it serves with her sons.	25 Il monte di Sina è in Arabia, il quale è congiunto a quel monte, dove è Ierusalem, e serve con i suoi figliuoli.
26 But that Jerusalem which is above is free; the same is our mother.	26 Ma quella Ierusalem la quale è di sopra (in cielo), quella è libera (e franca), la quale è nostra madre.
27 For it was written: “Rejoice, O barren one, though you do not conceive. Burst forth and cry out, though you do not give birth. For many are the children of the desolate, even more than of her who has a husband.”	27 Imperò ch' egli è scritto: allègrati tu, che se' sterile e non parturisci; rompi e grida tu che non fai figliuoli; chè molti son più li figliuoli dell' abbandonata, che di quella che ha marito.
28 Now we, brothers, like Isaac, are sons of the promise.	28 Ma noi, fratelli, secondo Isaac siamo figliuoli di promissione.
29 But just as then, he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now.	29 E secondo che allora quello ch' era nato secondo la carne, facea persecuzione a colui ch' era secondo il spirito, e così avviene ora.
30 And what does Scripture say? “Cast out the woman servant and her son. For the son of a servant women shall not be an heir with the son of a free woman.”	30 Ma che dice la Scrittura? Caccia via l'ancilla e il suo figliuolo; perchè non sarà erede il figliuolo dell' ancilla col figliuolo della libera (e franca).
31 And so, brothers, we are not the sons of the servant woman, but rather of the free woman. And this is the freedom with which Christ has set us free.	31 Adunque, fratelli, non siamo figliuoli dell' ancilla, ma di quella ch' è (franca e) libera; per la quale libertà Cristo liberò noi (e francoe).
