Hosea 2

1 “Say to your brothers, ‘You are my people,’ and to your sister, ‘You have obtained mercy.’	1 Les Israélites seront nombreux comme le sable de la mer qu’on ne peut ni mesurer ni compter; au lieu de leur dire: “Vous n’êtes pas mon peuple”, on les appellera: “Fils du Dieu vivant.”
2 Judge your mother, judge: for she is not my wife, and I am not her husband. Let her remove her fornications from before her face and her adulteries from between her breasts.	2 Les fils de Juda et les fils d’Israël se réuniront, ils se donneront un chef unique, ils déborderont hors du pays, car le jour d’Yizréel sera grand.
3 Otherwise, I may expose her nakedness and set her as on the day of her birth, and I may establish her as a wilderness and set her as an impassable land, and I may execute her with thirst.	3 Vous direz à vos frères: “Mon peuple” et vous appellerez vos sœurs: “Celles dont on a pitié”.
4 And I will not have mercy on her sons, for they are the sons of fornications.	4 Accusez votre mère, accusez-la, car elle n’est plus ma femme et je ne suis plus son mari. Qu’elle écarte de devant elle ses prostitutions et d’entre ses seins ses adultères.
5 For their mother has been fornicating; she who conceived them has been brought to ruin. For she said, ‘I will go after my lovers, who give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.’	5 Sinon je la dévêtirai et la laisserai nue, sans rien, comme au jour de sa naissance; je la rendrai semblable au désert, j’en ferai une terre aride: elle mourra de soif.
6 Because of this, behold, I will fence in your way with thorns, and I will surround it with a wall, and she will not find her paths.	6 Je n’aurai aucune pitié pour ses fils, car ce sont des enfants de prostitution.
7 And she will pursue her lovers, but she will not obtain them, and she will seek them, but she will not find them, and she will say, ‘I will go and return to my first husband, because it was to some extent better for me then, than it is now.’	7 Oui, leur mère s’est prostituée, celle qui les a conçus s’est couverte de honte. Elle a dit: “Je veux aller avec mes amants qui me donnent mon pain et mon eau, ma laine et mon lin, mon huile et ma boisson.”
8 And she did not know that I gave her grain and wine and oil, and that I increased her silver and gold, which they made into Baal.	8 2:10 Elle n’a pas reconnu que je lui donnais, moi, le blé, le vin nouveau et l’huile fraîche. C’est moi qui lui donnais en abondance l’argent et l’or dont elle a fait le Baal.
9 For this reason, I will turn back, and I will take away my grain in its time and my wine in its time, and I will set free my wool and my flax, which had covered her disgrace.	9 2:11 Aussi vais-je reprendre mon blé en son temps, et mon vin nouveau en sa saison. Je lui retirerai ma laine et mon lin, tout ce qui couvrait sa nudité.
10 And now, I will reveal her foolishness by the eyes of her lovers, and no man will rescue her from my hand.	10 2:12 Je vais dévoiler sa honte aux yeux de ses amants et de ma main nul ne la délivrera.
11 And I will cause all her joy to cease: her solemnities, her new moons, her sabbaths, and all her feast dates.	11 2:13 Je mettrai fin à ses réjouissances: ses fêtes et ses nouvelles lunes, ses sabbats et toutes ses solennités.
12 And I will corrupt her vines and her fig trees, about which she said, ‘These rewards, they are mine, my lovers have given them to me.’ And I will place her in a narrow forest, and the beasts of the field will devour her.	12 2:14 Elle disait de sa vigne et de son figuier: “C’est le salaire que m’ont donné mes amants”; mais moi je les dévasterai, j’en ferai une forêt et la bête des champs les dévorera.
13 And I will inflict on her the days of the Baals, for whom she burned incense, and ornamented herself with earrings and necklace, and went after her lovers, and forgot about me,” says the Lord.	13 2:15 Je lui demanderai compte de cette ère des Baals, où elle n’a fait que brûler pour eux l’encens, où elle mettait ses bijoux, son collier pour aller retrouver ses amants, et moi, elle m’oubliait - parole de Yahvé.
14 “Because of this, behold, I will attract her, and I will lead her into the wilderness, and I will speak to her heart.	14 2:8 Aussi vais-je fermer son chemin avec des ronces, l’entourer d’une clôture: elle ne trouvera plus ses sentiers.
15 And I will give to her, from the same place, her vinedressers, and the valley of Achor as a passage of hope. And she will sing there as in the days of her youth, and as in the days of her ascension from the land of Egypt.	15 2:9 Elle poursuivra ses amants sans les atteindre, elle les recherchera et ne les trouvera plus. Alors elle dira: “Il me faut partir et retourner vers mon premier mari, n’étais-je pas plus heureuse alors qu’aujourd’hui?”
16 And it will be in that day,” says the Lord, “that she will call me, ‘My Husband,’ and she will no longer call me, ‘My Baal.’	16 C’est pourquoi maintenant je vais la séduire; je la conduirai au désert et je parlerai à son cœur.
17 And I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, and she will no longer remember their name.	17 Je lui rendrai ses vignes, je changerai la vallée d’Akor en porte d’espérance; alors elle me répondra comme aux jours de sa jeunesse, comme au temps où elle montait du pays d’Égypte.
18 And in that day, I will strike a deal with them, with the beasts of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and with the creatures of the earth. And I will crush the bow and the sword, and I will wipe away war from the earth. And I will let them sleep securely.	18 Ce jour-là, parole de Yahvé, tu diras: “Mon mari”, tu ne m’appelleras plus: “Mon Baal”.
19 And I will betroth you to me forever, and I will betroth you to me in justice and judgment, and in mercy and compassion.	19 J’enlèverai de sa bouche les noms des Baals, on ne prononcera plus leurs noms.
20 And I will wed you to me in faith, and you will know that I am the Lord.	20 Je passerai un accord en ce jour-là avec les bêtes des champs, avec l’oiseau du ciel et le reptile de la terre. Je briserai l’arc, l’épée et la guerre, on ne les verra plus dans le pays; je ferai qu’on y vive en paix.
21 And this will happen in that day: I will listen closely,” says the Lord. “I will hear the heavens, and they will hear the earth.	21 Tu seras ma fiancée pour toujours, ce seront des fiançailles de justice, de droiture, dans la tendresse et la miséricorde.
22 And the land will pay attention to the grain, and the wine, and the oil; and these will hear Jezreel.	22 Je te fiancerai à moi dans la fidélité et tu sauras qui est Yahvé.
23 And I will plant her for me in the land, and I will have mercy on her, though she had been called Without Mercy.	23 En ce jour-là, parole de Yahvé, je répondrai aux cieux et eux répondront à la terre.
24 And I will say to Not My People, ‘You are my people,’ and they will say, ‘You are my God.’ ”	24 La terre répondra au blé, au vin nouveau, à l’huile fraîche, et eux répondront à Yizréel.
	25 Je sèmerai pour moi dans le pays; j’aurai pitié de Lo-Rouhamah; je dirai à Lo-Ammi: “Tu es mon peuple”, et lui dira: “Tu es mon Dieu”.
