Ezekiel 13

1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	1 La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
2 “Son of man, prophesy to the prophets of Israel who are prophesying, and you shall say to those who prophesy from their own heart: Hear the word of the Lord:	2 Hijo de hombre, profetiza contra los profetas de Israel; profetiza, y di a los que profetizan por su propia iniciativa: Escuchen la palabra del Señor.
3 Thus says the Lord God: Woe to the foolish prophets, who are following their own spirit, and who see nothing.	3 Así habla el Señor: ¡Ay de los profetas insensatos que siguen su propia inspiración, sin haber tenido ninguna visión!
4 Your prophets, O Israel, were like foxes in the deserts.	4 Chacales entre las ruinas: ¡eso han sido tus profetas, Israel!
5 You have not gone up against the adversary, and you have not established a wall for the house of Israel, so as to stand in battle on the day of the Lord.	5 Ustedes no han subido a las brechas ni han levantado un muro alrededor de la casa de Israel, a fin de que pueda resistir en el combate, el día del Señor.
6 They see emptiness, and they foretell falsehoods, saying, ‘The Lord says,’ though the Lord has not sent them. And they continued to affirm what they said.	6 Tienen visiones ilusorias y hacen predicciones engañosas, esos que andan diciendo: «¡Oráculo del Señor!», sin que el Señor los haya enviado. ¡Y todavía esperan que él confirme sus anuncios!
7 Have you not seen a futile vision and spoken a lying divination? And yet you say, ‘The Lord says,’ though I have not spoken.	7 ¿O no es verdad que ustedes tienen visiones ilusorias y hacen predicciones engañosas, cuando dicen: «¡Oráculo del Señor!, sin que yo haya hablado?
8 Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Since you have spoken emptiness and have seen falsehoods, therefore: behold, I am against you, says the Lord God.	8 Por eso, así habla el Señor: Por haber hablado falsamente y haber tenido visiones engañosas, yo estoy aquí contra ustedes –oráculo del Señor–.
9 And my hand will be over the prophets who are seeing emptiness and divining lies. They shall not be in the council of my people, and they shall not be written in the writing of the house of Israel. Neither shall they enter into the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am the Lord God.	9 Mi mano se alzará contra los profetas que tienen visiones ilusorias y hacen predicciones engañosas: ellos no participarán en el consejo de mi pueblo, no serán inscritos en el libro de la casa de Israel, ni entrarán en la tierra de Israel. Así ustedes sabrán que yo soy el Señor.
10 For they have deceived my people, saying, ‘Peace,’ and there is no peace. And they have built a wall, but they have covered it in clay without straw.	10 Porque ellos extraviaron a mi pueblo, anunciando: «¡Paz!», cuando en realidad no había paz, y mientras mi pueblo se construía una pared inconsistente, ellos la recubrían con cal;
11 Say to those who spread mortar without mixing, that it will fall apart. For there will be an inundating rain, and I will cause full-grown hailstones to rush down from above, and a windstorm to dissipate it.	11 por eso, di a esos que recubren con cal: Vendrá una lluvia torrencial, yo haré caer piedras duras de granizo, y se desatará un viento huracanado.
12 So then, behold: when the wall has fallen, will it not be said to you: ‘Where is the mortar with which you covered it?’	12 Y cuando la pared se haya derrumbado, les preguntarán: «¿Dónde está la cal con que la habían recubierto?».
13 Because of this, thus says the Lord God: And I will cause a violent wind to burst forth in my indignation, and there will be an inundating rain in my fury, and great hailstones in wrath, to consume.	13 Por eso, así habla el Señor: En mi furor, desataré un viento huracanado; en mi ira, enviaré una lluvia torrencial; y en mi enojo, haré caer piedras duras de granizo, hasta que todo quede derruido.
14 And I will destroy the wall that you have covered without tempering it. And I will level it to the ground, and its foundation will be revealed. And it will fall and be consumed in its midst. And you shall know that I am the Lord.	14 Derribaré la pared que ustedes recubrieron con cal, la dejaré a ras del suelo, y sus cimientos quedarán al desnudo. La pared se desplomará, y ustedes perecerán en medio de ella. Así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.
15 And I will fulfill my indignation against the wall, and against those who cover it without mixing the mortar, and I will say to you: The wall is no more, and those who covered it are no more:	15 Y una vez que se haya desahogado mi ira contra esa pared y contra los que la recubrían con cal, les diré: Ya no existe la pared, ni tampoco los que la recubrían,
16 the prophets of Israel, who prophesy to Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her when there is no peace, says the Lord God.	16 esos profetas que profetizaban sobre Jerusalén y tenían para ella visiones de paz, cuando no había paz –oráculo del Señor–.
17 And as for you, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people, who prophesy from their own heart. And prophesy about them,	17 Y tú, hijo de hombre, vuelve tu rostro contra las hijas de tu pueblo que profetizan por su propia iniciativa, y profetiza contra ellas.
18 and say: Thus says the Lord God: Woe to those who sew together little pillows under every forearm, and who make little cushions for the heads of every stage of life, in order to capture souls. And when they have seized the souls of my people, they became the life of their souls.	18 Dirás: Así habla el Señor: ¡Ay de aquellas que tejen ligaduras mágicas para atar las mano, y preparen velos para las cabezas de gente de todas las edades, a fin de atrapar vidas humanas! ¡Ustedes pretenden atrapar la vida de la gente de mi pueblo y preservar la suya propia!
19 And they violated me among my people, for the sake of a handful of barley and a fragment of bread, so that they would kill the souls that should not die, and enliven the souls that should not live, lying to my people who believe in falsehoods.	19 Me han profanado delante de mi pueblo por unos puñados de cebada y unas migajas de pan, matando a los que no deben morir, dejando con vida a los que no deben vivir, y diciendo mentiras a mi pueblo, que siempre está dispuesto a escucharlas.
20 Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against your little pillows, with which you catch flying souls. And I will tear them away from your arms. And I will release the souls that you are capturing, the souls that should fly.	20 Por eso, así habla el Señor: Yo estoy contra las ligaduras que ustedes usan para atrapar como pájaros las vidas humanas. Las arrancaré de los brazos de ustedes, y dejaré en libertad las vidas humanas. Las arrancaré de los brazos de ustedes, y dejaré en libertad las vidas que ustedes han atrapado.
21 And I will tear away your little cushions. And I will free my people from your hand. And they shall no longer be a prey in your hands. And you shall know that I am the Lord.	21 También romperé sus velos, y libraré a mi pueblo de las manos de ustedes, para que ya no sean una presa en sus manos. Así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.
22 For by deception you have caused the heart of the just to grieve, whom I would not sadden. And I have strengthened the hands of the impious, so that he would not be turned back from his evil way and live.	22 Ustedes hacen sufrir al justo con engaños, cuando yo no lo hago sufrir y reconfortan al impío para que no se convierta de su mala conducta y salve su vida.
23 Therefore, you shall not see emptiness, and you shall not divine divinations, any more. And I will rescue my people from your hand. And you shall know that I am the Lord.”	23 Por eso, no tendrán más falsas visiones ni volverán a hacer predicciones: yo libraré a mi pueblo de las manos de ustedes, y así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.
